  • This video was created for a user who had an Audio question on the Action 4 camera. While using the microphone adapter, the Action 3/4 cameras audio seems to be a little......LOW. DJI made the Microphone adapter more for motovloggers and people who vlog outdoors. many action cameras (when plugged with an external microphone) often produce HOT audio.
Dji's microphone adapter was designed to reduce the sensitivity of any microphone you plug into it. it is a TRS only adapter which forms a very solid connection. This video will show you guys how a few microphones I have sound in a particular scenario with no post editing done to the AUDIO LEVELS.
Links will not be provided in this description as I've done enough free advertising here. Thanks for watching and share if you don't feel like explaining all what's been shown in this video to someone else curious about other mics out here on the market and which may be best for anyone's particular recording styles.

@@KairyuRider man your comment made me smile. I am glad you've watched enough of this video to find exactly what you were looking for. Always feel free to ask any questions you may have as I use this camera everyday for work vlogging with the mic 2

Thanks for the short version. I was using an external wired Shure MV88+ and my new Action 4 was making audio a bit loud. I didn't realise ext. mic gain setting only available when mic plugged in, (It makes sense now I know). The manual didn't help, but your video did! Audio is now as perfect as I need! Now all I have to do is work out how to plug in a power bank and my USB mic at the same time.

You are very very welcome. As far as being able to plug in a power bank and use your USB microphone I think it is impossible.
I think the usb-c port of the action 4 is limited in a sense where you won't be able to successfully be able to use the usb-c port singlehandedly for two functions (charging and for mic use).
The best Idea I could come up with for your use is one of these and wirelessly connect it to your action 4
DJI Mic 2 Transmitter (Pearl White), Wireless Microphone with Intelligent Noise Cancelling, 14-Hour Internal Recording, 6-Hour Battery, Magnetic Attachment, Bluetooth Microphone, RUclips, Vlogs a.co/d/9MNAE0h
This will allow you to get very good audio and you could have both the camera aaaand the transmitter plugged into your power bank while still getting clear....great audio

This short video helped me learn a lot. Thanks. Question... Does that USB C input on the adapter allow to use usb c external microphones too besides just the 3.5 mm microphones ?

You are welcome and yessssss it does @ usb-c port of the mic adapter DOES allow you to use a usb-c mic!
I've been using this microphone all week using the usb-c to usb-c cable in not the usb-c port off the mic adapter's usb-c port.

I'll upload a video with the sound from this shotgun microphone. It does pretty good with the action 4 using the usb-c port
