Have entered my early thirties and after lockdown have realised my wardrobe is full of clothes I will never wear and that aren’t my style anymore (lots of bold colour and prints). Would love your advice on how/where to start again with basic and classic pieces that can be mixed and matched.
I got the The Row black zip boots last year for the full price. I was sweating as I swiped my card at Harrods, but in retrospect it was one of my best purchases. I have worn them at least 5 times a week since, they make every outfit better and magically make my legs look slimmer. Also the narrow ankle is an absolute game changer for wearing boots with jeans and trousers. LOVE them
I am in awe of your Banana Bag determination! I caved, but by the time I caved, the large in leather was all sold out and they'd moved onto nylon (at that price, no thank you!) However, I accidentally found myself in the men's section on My Theresa, and there it was. Bought it and put it side by side with the women's and they are identical. I have the Filippa K t-shirt and it's absolutely gorgeous, washes beautifully and looks amazing, like everything else they do. I have to say, though, I have this 'must save this for best' mentality when it comes to a sixty-five quid t-shirt and so I still keep reaching for my Uniqlo ones for every day! x
I will say that basic tees are extremely personal to purchase since you have to love them so much to wear them every day. I’ve tried the everlane, the arket, the Nordstrom basic tees and I still go back to target’s “universal threads” basic tees and H&M oversized basic tees. Both $5 and last me a few years. I don’t know if I could get myself to do a $65 tee since I’d probably love it and need to buy 7 more. 😂
Hi Emma great wish list. I want to say I admire your responsible way of shopping and planning that goes into it. I love most of the items mentioned. I think the Prada loafers are not a forever piece. They are too structured and I feel if you are a fan of slouchy effortless garments, they wouldn’t pair as seamlessly as the other loafers you have mentioned. But again that’s why I decided to take them off my list.

I have the H&M dupe of those zip-up boots from The Row and I really like them! They've lasted through an intense winter, they cost $50 and they look almost exactly like the boots from The Row, plus they don't use real leather, which I prefer as a vegan (plus there's no way I could afford $1500 boots 😂). They're called the "water-repellent boots" at H&M in case you want to check them out!
I think the Arket Wool jacket looks a bit nicer than the Toteme jacket because of the lower pockets. Good luck on your hunt for the Row bag & boots. I love your hair.
I got the Vagabond Alex W chunky loafers last Autumn and they’re brilliant. Good quality leather and great price. I was over the Prada ones the minute they were all over Instagram and actually think an alternative is cooler. Recommend a look!
I fell in love with the Prada loafers as well. Had the same issues as you, not fond of logo’s either. But there is something about them that I couldn’t find anywhere else. I bought the brown pair. It’s a lovely colour, very versatile and you don’t see them as much as the black.
I know you’ve had a bad experience with everlane in the past due to shipping restrictions to the UK. But you should take a look at their rewool pea coat! It’s thick, oversized, have buttons and come in a few colours. And it’s on 60% off !!

The key difference I think between yourself and myself is that I am quite petite at only 5‘2“. I've been slowly curating my wardrobe for the past 2 years (I'm planning to have a huge declutter soon. 90% of my wardrobe is no longer my style or size.) My new style is definitely inspired by Emma. My wishlist is quite long as I'm still building my new refreshed wardrobe, but ON THE TOP TOP TOP of the list are tailored trousers. I don't own any, and it's SUCH A STRUGGLE to find reasonably priced, natural fibres (whether full or high content %), petite friendly tailored slouchy/baggy trousers!!!! It either costs an arm and a leg for something twice my height, or reasonably priced but 100% polyester. Would love Emma's advice on where to shop, and if you find anything, please let me know and help a fellow shorty out! 🤎

Mine is a trench coat and I found the perfect one but delayed by a few days from ordering it online and,needless to say,once I decided to buy it,it had disappeared! So frustrating! Since then,I just haven’t found a similar one. Most are in heavier fabric and too short rather than mid-calf,loose and in lightweight fabric. Oh well- I’ll continue the search !! 🥰❤️

I'm on the hunt for short wool coats. They're versatile because they're nice enough to go out in the real world and to also walk the pups while keeping warm (very important!). Sezane has a high collar one and Acne has a herringbone one that I've been investigating.

I am starting my trouser journey and loving it. I am only 5'7" and I cannot speak on the higher end brands but I do like H&M's trousers. They fit me really nice and come down to the floor. I like styling them with Adidas Superstars. Also, I'm 47 and say "hit me up"...lol Emma you are pretty cool. 😊😊

As a loafer lover I own Gucci chunky, Gucci ‘regular’ and two Dear Frances Luca. And a high number of fratelli Rossetti loafers, the Brera are iconic and still not ‘seen’ as Gucci. They are not ‘affordable’ but when on sale at a slightly lower pricepoint compared to Gucci or DF. Flamenco is on my list too. About the ‘banana vibes’ bag I’m pondering on polene dix, great price for quality.

Filippa K is one of the original Swedish minimalistic sustainable brands that without a doubt has inspired other newer ones like Toteme, Arket, & Other Stories etc. Filippa K is amazing quality, I have 3-4 thinner blouses that I bought in 2015 and 2016 that look brand new still.
Hope it helps: Uniqlo U in the Mens section have the best t-shirt ever for 12,90 euros. Oversized fit, amazing weight of the fabric and great options in colours (beige, brown, black, white, sage green, navy, etc). It's called 'UNISEX UNIQLO U CREW NECK SHORT SLEEVED T-SHIRT'(12,90 euros) and the new fit 'UNISEX UNIQLO U AIRISM COTTON OVERSIZED FIT CREW NECK HALF SLEEVED T-SHIRT' (14,90euros) is even better because half-sleeved ! From XXS to 3XL it was meant to be unisex. I take XS there, when I'd go for a Medium in a women's section for oversized fit.
Oh, I never switch my spring wardrobe until April. I may pull out some striped cotton sweaters and white jeans, but that’s it. Our spring weather is all over the place one minute it’s 70 F and the next it’s snowing.

The slouchy banana bag from The Row reminds me SO much of an old (like 15-20 yrs ago!) Gap leather bag - I think it was a backpack - that I used to own and got rid of. Dang! Do I ever wish I’d held on to that one.
Part of the reason I love you is that you are the same height as me and I can base my trouser buying on your recommendations 😂 for so many years leg length wasn’t such an issue with skinny/ankle length trousers being the main type and alas, full length is back!
Definitely use thread up, and the real real. You can save a lot of money on designer staples. Posh mark can be great as long as the seller isn’t a flake. Then I would go to buying new once you can’t find what your looking for at a discount. Or it is such an essential you want it new for all the wear possible. I do find news with tags on all three all the time. Maybe try a rental subscription to get a feel for what you’ll wear VS what you wish you’d wear.

It was so so nice and unfortunately it closed 😭😭 When you visited the store last time they probably already had their major clearance sale, since they announced the closing in january 2020. I bloody loved going to munich and visiting that store 😄 Best of luck for finding the shoes for a really good price (although you really can‘t beat 500€ can you?!) 🤞🏼
I like your dupes for the coats and loafers better than the designer ones. They’re more understated and my motto is no logos. Secondly, for many years I’ve had a version of a black and white button up shirt. It’s a very versatile piece of clothing.
Get the Prada loafers, you won’t regret it. I love mine, I’m not a Prada or silver hardware gal but completely sold. They too were on my wish list for ages!
Hello! It is the basics that you should spend money on (regarding the Filippa k t-shirt). I have several t-shirts from the same brand but the all tencel t-shirt. It is wonderfull 🙌🏻 it washes great (i use cold wash and gentle detergent). LOVE them 😍🤩🙌🏻

Hi Emma, I love all of your videos and I have revamped my wardrobe slowly with many of your inspirations! I wanted to add a comment on tees. Ive been on the hunt spending so many dollars here and there (im in NY) and these tees quickly turn to sleep shirts, not ideal. However! I have been completely surprised and shocked with my white and black tees from Uniqlo - literally shocked. The white stays white, the black stays black no matter how many washes.. they sell nice boxier tees which is what I like now. The material is thick but soft and comfortable. Just an idea! And thank you again for all of your inspos!
I have checked the Filipina K Alexia’s t shirt since I’m also looking for some new t shirts but when I found that they are a kimono sleeves I just don’t know if I would be happy with it, I do like oversize and more boxy I agree with you Emma that the sleeves are long which is nice but the kimono I just don’t know. Emma, don't forget about Men's second hand market when looking for those wool short coats. I think you might have better luck! I own 2 organic cotton t shirts & I have to wash them in delicate cold & hang to dry & then Iron. They are Very High Maintenance. AND... My White Tee now has a stain that I can not get out. I think If I washed it in Hot with bleach it might remove the stain, but it would ruin the shirt.
Im swedish and Filippa K is one of my favourite brands. The brand is swedish. I have a lot of clothes from the brand, both tshirts, shirts, a coat, trousers and jeans and they last several years. The quality is always amazing. I dont own that perticular tshirt but a similar one that i have used for i think 5 years now and it still looks brand new. Hope that helps 😊
Hi Emma, I’ve recently discovered the brand Yes Friends and they make responsible tees for less than £8. I love the boxy, masculine fit of the tees (which I always struggle to find!) and the cotton is great quality. I was really surprised to have ethically produced tops with such quality for that price, but somehow they managed it!
With nothing underneath do some nice crisp, striped shirts. Think they’re called poplin? ( they also have linen ones but obviously that’s not the same) I find they are oversized but they’re not as huge/long as the Arket ones, you could always size up a few times. Wash well, nice quality.. don’t feel noisy like school shirts ( my pet peeve 😅!) Think it’s a small business, women owned etc so that’s a nice bonus!
I have the Alexis tshirt in Ivory. It’s not a white, they don’t make a white. It’s OK. I wouldn’t say it’s a huge value for the price. it’s a very luxurious feeling T-shirt. But because of the price it’s a little precious and I probably don’t wear it as much as I would if it was an Arket or a Cos T-shirt. Lukewarm recommendation.

Hi Emma! I have the Loewe Flamenco (small size, though) in tan - which is slightly lighter as compared to the Puzzle in tan. It’s a great bag. As to wool coats, maybe the Curated short coat would be a good idea: it has a more classic feel to it but maybe it’s worth looking into. Have a great Sunday!
Some beautiful items on your list. The Loewe Flamenco bag is my favourite, absolutely beautiful. The Prada loafers style remind me of the school shoes that were so popular in high school that everyone wore in the 90’s, especially in the pictures you showed where people were wearing them with slouchy white socks! I also noted the chunky loafers trend but not sure how they are styled. Some on Instagram styled them with rather baggy pants but i feel they look a bit frumpy. All and all i think i would struggle to style them with what i have
I live in München. And I think it might be Oberpollinger. They have the shoes on the third floor. All the good brands but always with boxes and look like a sale. 😂 On the first floor there are brands like Dior😂

For the loafers, I also wanted the Prada loafers but I really hate the logo. So what I did was I looked for vintage Gucci loafers. Found one that is close enough. It was $70CAD. 👌🏼
I feel Your pain on those boots, a similar situation happened to me with a pair of riding Tory Burch boots and I know I will never find them again new and at a discount 😭
Omg I bought the row boots and I had to return them! Not made for wide feet. The zipper would not close or go up at all! I was so annoyed! Other reviews complain about that issue as well and for being such and expensive shoe there shouldn’t be an issue at all. Just heads up for anyone that has wide feet that wants to buy them.
What a great wishlist, so inspiring. The Loewe Flamenco is gooorgeous! But way too expensive so I think I will get my hands on a big model from arket or COS as I really need a big bag for notebook, knitting or crocheting stuff, headphones and so on as I have now a long train ride to office (home office rules at the moment!)... I would say COS and Arket are a great place to start and Massimo Dutti actually have a really nice larger bag at the moment that might be worth checking out 👍
Hi Emma! With your Loewe cushion bag, i think you should check out Yu Mei - its a New Zealand bag brand (im from NZ) and they're quite minimalist. They have the canvas and black colour way that you're after! Its not quite the shape you want, but they are beautiful, quality bags for quite affordable prices (especially compared to Loewe!!!)

I like the look of the arket but did it have side pockets like the toteme did? Because that would drive me crazy not to have hand pockets.

My wishlist is quite long as I'm still building my new refreshed wardrobe, but ON THE TOP TOP TOP of the list are tailored trousers. I don't own any, and it's SUCH A STRUGGLE to find reasonably priced, natural fibres (whether full or high content %), petite friendly tailored slouchy/baggy trousers!!!! It either costs an arm and a leg for something twice my height, or reasonably priced but 100% polyester. Would love Emma's advice on where to shop, and if you find anything, please let me know and help a fellow shorty out! 🤎
Hi Emma. I loved seeing your wish list. Mine is a trench coat and I found the perfect one but delayed by a few days from ordering it online and,needless to say,once I decided to buy it,it had disappeared! So frustrating! Since then,I just haven’t found a similar one. Most are in heavier fabric and too short rather than mid-calf,loose and in lightweight fabric. Oh well- I’ll continue the search !! 🥰❤️

I'm on the hunt for short wool coats. They're versatile because they're nice enough to go out in the real world and to also walk the pups while keeping warm (very important!). Sezane has a high collar one and Acne has a herringbone one that I've been investigating.

I am starting my trouser journey and loving it. I am only 5'7" and I cannot speak on the higher end brands but I do like H&M's trousers. They fit me really nice and come down to the floor. I like styling them with Adidas Superstars. Also, I'm 47 and say "hit me up"...lol Emma you are pretty cool. 😊😊

As a loafer lover I own Gucci chunky, Gucci ‘regular’ and two Dear Frances Luca. And a high number of fratelli Rossetti loafers, the Brera are iconic and still not ‘seen’ as Gucci. They are not ‘affordable’ but when on sale at a slightly lower pricepoint compared to Gucci or DF.

I'm on the hunt for a loafer similar to the PRADA, but with no logo. Thank you for the two similar styles.
Filippa K is one of the original Swedish minimalistic sustainable brands that without a doubt has inspired other newer ones like Toteme, Arket, & Other Stories etc. Filippa K is amazing quality, I have 3-4 thinner blouses that I bought in 2015 and 2016 that look brand new still.
Hope it helps: Uniqlo U in the Mens section have the best t-shirt ever for 12,90 euros. Oversized fit, amazing weight of the fabric and great options in colours (beige, brown, black, white, sage green, navy, etc). It's called 'UNISEX UNIQLO U CREW NECK SHORT SLEEVED T-SHIRT'(12,90 euros) and the new fit 'UNISEX UNIQLO U AIRISM COTTON OVERSIZED FIT CREW NECK HALF SLEEVED T-SHIRT' (14,90euros) is even better because half-sleeved ! From XXS to 3XL it was meant to be unisex. I take XS there, when I'd go for a Medium in a women's section for oversized fit.
Oh, I never switch my spring wardrobe until April. I may pull out some striped cotton sweaters and white jeans, but that’s it. Our spring weather is all over the place one minute it’s 70 F and the next it’s snowing.

I mulled over the Prada loafers for 3 months and ended up buying them and don't regret it at all. I purchased a size down (they run big).
The slouchy banana bag from The Row reminds me SO much of an old (like 15-20 yrs ago!) Gap leather bag - I think it was a backpack - that I used to own and got rid of. Dang! Do I ever wish I’d held on to that one.
Part of the reason I love you is that you are the same height as me and I can base my trouser buying on your recommendations 😂 for so many years leg length wasn’t such an issue with skinny/ankle length trousers being the main type and alas, full length is back!
Definitely use thread up, and the real real. You can save a lot of money on designer staples. Posh mark can be great as long as the seller isn’t a flake. Then I would go to buying new once you can’t find what your looking for at a discount. Or it is such an essential you want it new for all the wear possible. I do find news with tags on all three all the time. Maybe try a rental subscription to get a feel for what you’ll wear VS what you wish you’d wear.

It was so so nice and unfortunately it closed 😭😭 When you visited the store last time they probably already had their major clearance sale, since they announced the closing in january 2020. I bloody loved going to munich and visiting that store 😄 Best of luck for finding the shoes for a really good price (although you really can‘t beat 500€ can you?!) 🤞🏼

I like your dupes for the coats and loafers better than the designer ones. They’re more understated and my motto is no logos. Secondly, for many years I’ve had a version of a black and white button up shirt. It’s a very versatile piece of clothing.
Get the Prada loafers, you won’t regret it. I love mine, I’m not a Prada or silver hardware gal but completely sold. They too were on my wish list for ages!

Hello! It is the basics that you should spend money on (regarding the Filippa k t-shirt). I have several t-shirts from the same brand but the all tencel t-shirt. It is wonderfull 🙌🏻 it washes great (i use cold wash and gentle detergent). LOVE them 😍🤩🙌🏻

For chunky loafers I went with the see by Chloe erine loafers. They're just a little more subtle than the prada ones. Love them.
I have been waiting FOREVER to find a mini Burberry backpack with the band of neon colours running across the front - pre-owned as they no longer produce as new. I started looking in my 50s and now in my 60s, let’s hope I find it before I hit my 70s😂😂😂 Good luck with your wish list!

Hi Emma, I love all of your videos and I have revamped my wardrobe slowly with many of your inspirations! I wanted to add a comment on tees. Ive been on the hunt spending so many dollars here and there (im in NY) and these tees quickly turn to sleep shirts, not ideal. However! I have been completely surprised and shocked with my white and black tees from Uniqlo - literally shocked. The white stays white, the black stays black no matter how many washes.. they sell nice boxier tees which is what I like now. The material is thick but soft and comfortable. Just an idea! And thank you again for all of your inspos!

I have checked the Filipina K Alexia’s t shirt since I’m also looking for some new t shirts but when I found that they are a kimono sleeves I just don’t know if I would be happy with it, I do like oversize and more boxy I agree with you Emma that the sleeves are long which is nice but the kimono I just don’t know. Emma, don't forget about Men's second hand market when looking for those wool short coats. I think you might have better luck! I own 2 organic cotton t shirts & I have to wash them in delicate cold & hang to dry & then Iron. They are Very High Maintenance. AND... My White Tee now has a stain that I can not get out. I think If I washed it in Hot with bleach it might remove the stain, but it would ruin the shirt.

Im swedish and Filippa K is one of my favourite brands. The brand is swedish. I have a lot of clothes from the brand, both tshirts, shirts, a coat, trousers and jeans and they last several years. The quality is always amazing. I dont own that perticular tshirt but a similar one that i have used for i think 5 years now and it still looks brand new. Hope that helps 😊

Hi Emma, I’ve recently discovered the brand Yes Friends and they make responsible tees for less than £8. I love the boxy, masculine fit of the tees (which I always struggle to find!) and the cotton is great quality. I was really surprised to have ethically produced tops with such quality for that price, but somehow they managed it!

With nothing underneath do some nice crisp, striped shirts. Think they’re called poplin? ( they also have linen ones but obviously that’s not the same) I find they are oversized but they’re not as huge/long as the Arket ones, you could always size up a few times. Wash well, nice quality.. don’t feel noisy like school shirts ( my pet peeve 😅!) Think it’s a small business, women owned etc so that’s a nice bonus!
I have the Alexis tshirt in Ivory. It’s not a white, they don’t make a white. It’s OK. I wouldn’t say it’s a huge value for the price. it’s a very luxurious feeling T-shirt. But because of the price it’s a little precious and I probably don’t wear it as much as I would if it was an Arket or a Cos T-shirt. Lukewarm recommendation.

Hi Emma! I have the Loewe Flamenco (small size, though) in tan - which is slightly lighter as compared to the Puzzle in tan. It’s a great bag. As to wool coats, maybe the Curated short coat would be a good idea: it has a more classic feel to it but maybe it’s worth looking into. Have a great Sunday!

Some beautiful items on your list. The Loewe Flamenco bag is my favourite, absolutely beautiful. The Prada loafers style remind me of the school shoes that were so popular in high school that everyone wore in the 90’s, especially in the pictures you showed where people were wearing them with slouchy white socks! The 🍟 story = 💀😆. I fear for anyone that tries to fight you for any of the items 🙊😳😂.

Just one tip regarding Prada shoes; they are a bit narrow and run on the small side of the sizing chart. Be sure to up-size at least 1/2 a size.
I have to disagree I got them and I would say they true to size and even for narrow feet I would recomend size down.

For the loafers, I also wanted the Prada loafers but I really hate the logo. So what I did was I looked for vintage Gucci loafers. Found one that is close enough. It was $70CAD. 👌🏼

You probably know this already but COS has some very nice basic tees that have recently come in. Just thought I would share.
Omg I bought the row boots and I had to return them! Not made for wide feet. The zipper would not close or go up at all! I was so annoyed! Other reviews complain about that issue as well and for being such and expensive shoe there shouldn’t be an issue at all. Just heads up for anyone that has wide feet that wants to buy them.
We really can’t switch until May. Too many April 28th snow storms!
What a great wishlist, so inspiring. The Loewe Flamenco is gooorgeous! But way too expensive so I think I will get my hands on a big model from arket or COS as I really need a big bag for notebook, knitting or crocheting stuff, headphones and so on as I have now a long train ride to office (home office rules at the moment!)... I would say COS and Arket are a great place to start and Massimo Dutti actually have a really nice larger bag at the moment that might be worth checking out 👍

Hi Emma! With your Loewe cushion bag, i think you should check out Yu Mei - its a New Zealand bag brand (im from NZ) and they're quite minimalist. They have the canvas and black colour way that you're after! Its not quite the shape you want, but they are beautiful, quality bags for quite affordable prices (especially compared to Loewe!!!)
