I have never liked Raptor… like ever. But they sold me on this Classified version!

Good show! There will be more 60th anniversary figures, going into 2025. Chris McLeod, of the Full Force Podcast, has a running list of figures to be revealed into 2025. I believe there are 2 “Legacy” figures on that list; which are supposed to be part of the 60th anniversary line.

I wonder what they will be? I'm glad the line is continuing, but I'm very curious what else they plan on giving us.

Great conversation until the CLAW. I was with you until then. The CLAW is fantastic and as it’s a “toy” if a kid gets it as their first toy, then they will need a figure.

Nightforce Falcon is Outback with a new head. Outstanding buck. Feel the same way about Quarrel. Love that Classified always gives us unique head sculpts

I thought those arm hairs were recognizable! You can't go wrong with Outback.

The reason Hasbro isn’t releasing $20 troop builders ($16 is less than a Reaction figure in 2024, never happening) is because people buy them for $24.99. Remember the stuff that’s going to Ollie’s is coming from retail partners who already paid Hasbro. Not hurting their margins at all. And from what I understand, there will be far fewer made moving forward. Joe fans are mad when the figures aren’t on shelves and mad when there are too many to sell. I did have a little trouble following the argument that they need to stop doing generic troop builders, need more named cobra characters, but should be doing a revolving line of…generic troop builders? Isn’t the female trooper 2-pack essentially the CLAW pilot with a different head? If they put a Storm Shadow or CC with the Claw, there would be no incentive for people to buy more than one, and they would be criticized (here, I’d wager) for A. Another CC or Storm Shadow when we already have so many and B. Putting a named character behind a vehicle that isn’t essential to its existence (Clutch, Wild Weasel, etc). The other thing that was tough to square is criticizing the line for being too slavish to old designs while also criticizing changes to characters like Road Pig. Love the show (I’m always here) but this felt like a lot of competing gripes. Collector life, I know.

A lot of very valid points here. I actually didn't know that Ollie's stock was leftover retail inventory, so that paints things in a different light. In terms of Generic Troops as well as animals with figures, my point is that what I really want is to not have to buy ANYTHING extra. What I REALLY want is a CLAW with no figure at all, and a Road Pig with no animal at all, so I can choose what I want to spend my money on. Bundling these characters with things I don't want to me feels like they are forcing me to spend more for the same enjoyment I get out of a $25 figure. Obviously I am just one person but the whole things feels like every wave MUST HAVE a figure priced above $34.99, even if it doesn't really call for it.
As far as "modernization" goes, I don't have too much of an issue with it, even though I do prefer the original designs. Raptor's new look I think is super fitting for him, but if even Jaren is complaining about some of the stuff that comes with Road Pig, then I feel like they've missed the mark a tad. Then again, we're just two guys out of several thousand collectors, so maybe we're both in the minority 🤣

I’m not a fan of the C.L.A.W either, I think it worked in the comics, it was used in two of the best issues 21 and 24 and if I open mine I’ll be using with Storm Shadow or CC.
Great episode again, love these figure episodes, Greg seems so defeated by current Classifieds though.
