  • Marcus, Kara, and Michael are headed to Alaska in search of caribou and moose. They start off caribou hunting and quickly realize that archery hunting on the flat Alaskan tundra is easier said than done. While the caribou seem to allow them close, just as they ease into bow range, the caribou often give them the slip. After a few days hunting caribou, moose are up next. While Marcus does have a special moose permit, it doesn't mean the moose are easy to find. Will the team find a moose before time runs out?

    I would watch the Marcus and Kara show every day, so much fun watching them hunt/play in the fields. Kara hunting caribou may be one of the most entertaining things I've ever seen on RUclips.

    Now this was a hunting show even though nothing was killed. I have seen others that thought driving down the highway and playing grab fanny in a motel for over half the video was a hunting show. This was all about a man and wife enjoying the outdoors even though they did not kill anything. Great video, thanks.

    The highway provides everything to the industry I work in up here in Alaska. The oilfield gets a bad rap for some reason but the animals have a great environment even around all the oilfields up here

    Got my first hunt ever starting next Friday; Early Anterless Season for Minnesota. I am so EXCITED for this experience. I have been watching yalls videos for the last 3 months, doing my firearms safety courses, and shooting my gun as much as I can. Got a new scope, Dialed it in last week and am feeling more then ready to take out my first doe. Thank you for all the knowledge and inspiration that you and your team have been feeding me and many others along the way. You all are amazing. Stay blessed and keep pumping out these high quality videos.

      I'm sure you saw the "Day by Day" Version of this hunt. We usually produce a Day by Day version of all our hunts, as well as a Fresh Tracks Episode. Some people enjoy watching condensed version of a hunt with music, narration, etc. That is what the Fresh Tacks episodes provide. This hunt was from 2020.

    That's my old stomping grounds, I have low crawled, did the bow and arm up, ambushed them. It all depends on the herd and the day. Picking a small satalite heard of five or less seems to work the best and stopping when they stick out that back leg or look at you. My buddies and I used to call it the shopping trip. The more you go, the better you get at it. You guys did a lot better then I did on my first trip up their, great job. I love Montana, but miss living up their.

    Another good one! Appreciate that sometimes when I watch Fresh Tracks it’s like hunts I’ve been on (where we don’t get an animal) vs. other channels where they always get the big one! Hunting is so much more and this vid and a recent one with Randy in Montana highlight it. Thanks for being honest!

    Keys to haul road caribou success. Don't chase them. Set up an ambush and wait for them to come to you. Remember they have eyes like a turkey, so concealment is a must. If you can see their heads, they can see yours. It is tough getting within what is called wolf distance, that last 200 yards. I'm headed up in 4 days. And yes, we plan to take some Ptarmigan, using bird points/spring heads. Best of luck next year, I'm sure y'all will return.

    Only 1 moose was shot on that tag last year. my understanding is the area is a wintering ground for moose and you need some good cold weather to bring them in. It's a fun area to hunt though.

      It is totally clear that they were totally clueless about hunting caribou and moose and that they had not done any research on it or asked anyone for advice.
      Looked like two hunters that had never hunted before.

    • @RoadLifePursuits
      @RoadLifePursuits 2 года назад

      Yep...you will never see a 50 inch moose on this road...and if you do it's a fluke IMO....but a great time for sure.

    • @The_Judge300
      @The_Judge300 Год назад

      Been there, done that and learned from it.
      Got a so called "Special Permit" once and hunted for 14 days without seeing a single moose.
      And I didn't road hunt like these did, I walked far into to area to get away from the hunting pressure and slept out there every night.
      On my way back to my car, I met an old local small game hunter not far from the road.
      And he told me that those permits was a scam as the last time anyone shot a legal moose according to that permit, it was 12 years ago, and it was shot illegally 3 weeks before the season started....
      He told me that it was common for the locals to hunt illegally in the area and that they shot any moose they saw.
      The locals shot all the bull moose long before they got big enough for that "Special Permit"
      I suspect it was the same in the area these guys hunted, considering that they didn't see a single cow on their hunt either.
      Just scamming money from non residents.

    Fun video, but this looked more like a "How not to hunt" video than anything else.
    They looked like they have never hunted before.
    I find it almost shocking how someone can go on a hunt like this and be so totally clueless about it.

  • @bretlawson924
    @bretlawson924 2 года назад +1

    Marcus, I want you to realize that EVERYTHING you enjoy your hunts with is based in natural resource extraction....from minerals and metals to oil. For you to have "mixed" emotions tells me you haven't really taken an in depth look at where all your equipment, your house, your transportation, etc originates from. Do THAT before you go making opening statements like that. REALLY pissed me off dude! Keep political and idealogical falsehoods out of what you do for us and for yourself. Feelings off.
