I just think they need to be a bit more flexible with the theming of Titans. They are punchy people, but also just kind of a tanky super soldier theme. They described Titans originally in concept as Terminators/Halo Spartans/Knights. So why not like a battlefield commander or strategist type subclass? Like call in an air strike sort of thing, maybe give allies a personal tiny barricade from a distance. Idk, there's tons of ideas. But punching isn't the only option.
I just wanted a Greatsword that converted into a bladed whip for my Strand Titan Super. That was all. We are supposed to weave tapestries of death and destruction on the battlefield with our might. Warrior Poets, The Master Strategists of The Last City, The Bastion of Her People and the Walls that weathered The Collapse itself. I want a badass Crusader's Sword to Paladin the fuck out of Enemies with. Hell, to even add into the theme'ing of Strand giving Woven Mail, give me badass Knight's Armor whenever Woven Mail/the Super is active to reinforce this.
I thought a titan wielding a strand themed sewing needle / javelin would be really cool. Maybe you could throw it to suspend and stitch enemies together, then call it back for a follow up melee attack?
@@Tips_7384 I was just joking with some friends that I'd take a giant sewing needle that I could just throw as a javelin. Just something different. I also saw a comment about a Blades of Chaos style super, and I think that or the great sword whip are cool.
Before we found out about Strand, I was expecting a psychic themed Darkness subclass to be themed more around Nightmares. I was pulling for a gigantic Nightmare Claymore, tapping into that Dark Knight/Death Knight trope spaces. Still very melee-y, but could play into more of the dark magical aspects too. I still think they should incorporate the Stasis Lance more into the Behemoth and I imagine Bungie giving Berserker a ranged cut melee in the future too.
Titans feels like a tanky super soldier yes! We got two GREAT supers i fell in love: Burning maul and TCrash. Every time i use this supers i feel the power (this aestethics and sound design) Captain america and fists of havok... meh... Why dont do with strand something like that? Yeah clicking mobs to the death with left click is maybe good but i do not feel the power in that super... Like Angelous Mortis said being a knight with a badass greatsword to beat shit out of enemies will be pretty great! Titans are also tank class of our game so maybe some ability to soak all nearby enemies to you like a some sort of tank aggro in other MMOs (reduced soak range for pvp obviously)
In my opinion the titan power fantasy isn't just punch. It's being up in the face of the enemy while keeping them off the backs of your team like what was said in the video as a tank class. I like void the most of any subclass on titan because it really makes that fantasy of being able to wreck house and shield your allys because of it. I really wish they leaned into the defender part of titans more opposed to the just roll face agro, agro spam is fun but it's not fun 3 subclasses over.
What are you even talking about? Striker is the closest thing we have to aggro spam. Sentinel is super defensive and mid range, Sunbreaker is all about Aoe damage from sunspots and explosions, Stasis is also pretty defensive with ice crystal spam for both farming ability energy and making cover and locking down enemies. Beserker sounds fun as fuck because you are buffing teammates, debuffing enemies, taking aggro, and you have fucking blade arms like goddamn chainsaw man
@@underscore_5450 cool story. Now use fists of havoc against a raid boss like Oryx oh wait you cant. Neither can burning maul, glacial slam or shield because hes not meleeable
@@StevenTLawson facts. You cant even Thundercrash most bosses because they are either out of range or you'll die if you do it. Our only support super was nerfed and is not 100% outclassed by well (when they reduced weapons of light damage). Storm grenade spam is basically all we got at this point.
Important: Finishers are not linked to Armor Charge, the "When you Finisher do a thing" Armor Mods are. You can still Finisher with no charges, it's just the bonuses like "When you Finisher regain Grenade energy", "When you Finisher generate Special Ammo" etc.
I think that what has me the most discontent is the other classes, that are getting completely new supers and abilities, chiming in constantly saying that we the consumer don't have a right to demand something different for future releases. The sad reality is that titan mains are watching their class get dulled down into "melee brute" when in the past, our "identity" was a frontline juggernaut and protector. Sure, compared to the other classes, it still has a small scope and unique ways to take it. However, I think that you can still do a fair amount with it especially with the great minds at bungo.
This is why I quit destiny, instead of arguing or complaining about it I’d rather just not support it, had been playing since destiny 1s pre order, but I can’t be bothered anymore

If you got out of your emotions because someone criticised something you like you’d be able to come up with better counter arguments.
@@NJX247 well yes you don't have a opinion and I'll explain with ease. One since you quit before witch queen that means you haven't seen the new class features reworked or even new items that's been introduced so your opinion on a dlc that you don't plan on buying seems pretty moot. Secondly since you have not played witch queen and quit a bit in beyond light that means your player data doesn't matter nor holds any merits thus your opinion doesn't matter. True I may have made the mistake and though you said you quit after D1 but since you did quit and not recently my normal points stand. If you have not played for more then a year or so and do not plan on playing then your opinion seems unneeded for a game you have no player data or experience with in the current meta. I was hoping for a fire-and-forget-it ranged super where my Titan wasn't the projectile. It feels like a real gap in the Titan's toolset and would have helped balance out the melee focus.
Considering that only TCrash and Hammer of Sol can be used against raid bosses for damage since you cant melee most of them and Bubble just provides more DPS to your weapons. An actual useable DPS super would be nice to have.
@@StevenTLawson literally no class but hunters as dps supers, and they have the weakest neutral game by far, with warlocks and titans generally having far weakest supers and stronger neutral game, which makes bungies idea with class balancing kind of obvious no
As a hunter main who recently came back to d2 after leaving in Y1 I miss seeing bubble titans in the raids and harder strikes because that was like YOUR thing being the wall.
The word "Drengr" isn't from the English language, so it doesn't follow the same rules when it comes to vowels. It originates from old Norse language, and was used to denote bravery or recklessness in battle (which ties into the berserker theme for the Titan Strand subclass). Calling one "Drengr" was basically saying they were a great warrior in the old viking days.
I know that "drengr" is old norse, but i didn't make the connection earlier... but it's like "berserker", like a viking berserker Why aren't we using dual axes?
@N VL think the can’t stun while in super is why they’re adding the subclass antichampion thing. Personally I think roaming supers just need more damage to justify not having time to use weapons.
It was probably the concept art of the alternative strand super that got us Titan mains a little hurt. Supposedly one of the concepts was a heavy gun akin to an incernators flamethrower or colossus minigun that fired strand as a super. Would have been a great way to make a bulwark sentry style Titan but I also understand that brings the mobility and flow of strands identity to a grinding halt. Hopefully they'll explore less fisting come our last and only chance for something different from punching besides sunbreaker
I wish it were that easy, but I and many other were not underwhelmed by the stats is super but little tired of more roamers NOW not having a dps super since THUNDERCRASH and you can’t use TC with cuirass(well you could but you shouldn’t) I think the fact that we haven’t seen a break of our “stupid punchy boy” stereotype is getting to be QUITE stale and honestly I’m not even hyped to play LF on my titan I mean you can literally be Scorpion from MK or have an army of minions Or would you pick punch in green or 3 w verbs. Idk imo it tiring and insulting
That sadly wasn't actually concept art. It was a fan cconcept. That said it sucks they didn't give you guys a better "Thing" so to speak. Like, Warlocks and Hunters have a very defined concept and identity but "untamed force" is such a broad and undefined concept and to make it focus so much on melee again is definitely a bit boring, even if in a vacuum it looks pretty cool.

Part of the issue I have with the Titan Strand class from the trainer for me is pure jealousy, the other classes options look so cool and new while it looks like I'm only getting more of the same. Really happy for the other classes tho, looking forward to watching them do cool stuff. An alternative thing I was thinking they could have given Titans would be the ability to pull enemies to me with the threads, and for big enemies it would pull you to them, though I could see how that could be problematic with ledges.
Yeah, i think the Theme they where gooing for with Titans in regards to Strand is the Cutting of Threads, hence the Scisor-hands. Like, Warlocks Manipulate the Loom, Hunters Spin new Threads outwards, and Titans Cut the Threads. Too bad they went in an very basic direction with that Theme.
alright so by speaking by jealously ill say that the titan super being bad is deserved and that the entire strand kit should be subpar to warlocks and hunters because for a WHOLE YEAR titans have got nothing but the strongest shit in the game, storm grenades basically soloing the game with no cooldown, loreley and the entire restoration, hunters were supposed to be the radiant class and yet titans have an infinite melee that infinitely procs radiant and heal and create healing sunspots, void 3.0 shield bash doing more damage than any super in the entire game, titans not losing anything from their 2.0 classes while solar warlocks had one of their trees gutted and despite being the restoration class titans still better at it, void hunter losing their entire bottom tree void and scout identity just to be the invisibility class while titans could easily proc every verb of void 3.0 with no fragments the list goes on
My main issue with Titans getting "punch them I guess lmao" super is that, all of the things that current strand titan can do could be done with out having to punch. Light attack builds up heavy attack and heavy attack does big cool thing. A heavy tanky gunner like subclass sounds really fun and could also do all of those things
Titan punch or Titan punch with shoulder or Titan punch with hammer. There is no other way. Maybe punch with headbutt could exist but Ape still learning headbutt.
I don't think a machine gun or a rocket would have connected well with strand. Something that came to mind was War Banner or Standard (Strand-ard if you will). Imagine the titan popping their super and taking out a glaive like weapon; providing allies with woven mail, whilst sending out severing proc projectiles. I think this would have been more visually impacting than what we have now, whilst not changing much of that core mechanic. Also sorry for the long reply by the way, just been thinking about this a lot from a design standpoint.
I for one am quite excited for warlock Strand. It continues two of our greatest traditions of eating our grenades and summoning other beings to play the game for us.
I am reserving judgement until lightfall, but I much prefer the titan fantasy of "tanking hits for my team" as opposed to "punching things for my team". I'm not expecting MMO levels of tanking, but I always go back to the opening cinematic from Destiny 2 when the tower is under attack. Zavala yelling to get behind and just taking the incoming fire, that's the fantasy I would enjoy
@@brilyman And you are useless in 90% of activities except GMs because noones dying to frontal fire anyways so thats not fun. It's cool, but I could rather shoot my gun and be infinitely more useful to the team
@@brilyman Did you read my comment? My point is that you don't need that protection most of the time anyways because there just isn't enough damage or you can easily survive while doing damage/clearing. So having someone not be able to shoot themselves just takes them out of the fight if you don't really need it (only really in GMs or specific master raid situations)
i think hunter and warlock is just better designed from reading cause they have clear focusses and roles: the warlock is all about using the threadlings and the hunter is all about using the grapple and mobility. The titan however just got "generic" stuff
Titan seems to be all about Sever, from what I can see. The blades are about cutting enemy damage output and making yourself harder to kill. I imagine we’ll get an aspect that leans into sever at a later point for sure.
The Titan will be OP with Strand, mark my words. Arc Titan currently is OP and best damage in the PvE, but I can see Strand Titan putting the Arc Titan to shame.
I myself was not mad, but hoping for something more.. inventive? Ofcourse I’m not in any place to judge it, as you said it hasn’t released. But from the footage we have seen I cant help but wonder what could have been. As a Titan main and a punch enthusiast I don’t mind having another melee based super, but the lack of variety could definitely be a problem in the long run. I guess we’ll just have to see :)
I just kinda wish it wasn't just punch melee. If it was, like, some huge double bladed sword like that Klingon thing, I think everyone would be stoked, even if it behaved exactly the same.
I don't care as much about the super, but the basic abilities. The 3 charges + dash is cool, but when you see what the other classes get, like being able to catch the mele, or play an RTS with threadings, feels like there could've been more of a "gimmic" for titans. I like the woven mail thing, but it would've been cool to maybe have lifesteal or a unique CC. Berserker idea can be fun, but it doesn't seem to do anything more with the concept. The different classes are supposed to be interpreting strand in different ways, and I get titans ain't the brightest/most imaginative, but if I got strand I'd lean way more into the woven mail time thing, becoming a juggernaut; using my body to barrel through everyone, and pull them back in again for another tramping. Also, it would've been cool if maybe they changed punches into kicks, just so the animations and stuff are different.
7:50 Like in the current system with the mods that give you benefits on finishers, the finisher move should still be available even without Armor Charge, you just don't get any bonuses if you don't have armor charge to fuel those mods.
I’m glad that you acknowledged that it’s not just about being good, I want my abilities to be unique and fun! Coming from a long time titan main it really isn’t about the fact that I’m meleeing in my super, it’s that it just seems to be a slightly altered combat loop from striker and behemoth, and we want something fresh. Even if it’s awful, I just wish this damn strand super could’ve been a one and done or something else lmao
My issue with berserker is that it's focused so hard on "titan has to punch" that it can't focus as much on the whole sever and woven mail synergy, which has potential to make a very powerful protective subclass if they put emphasis on That
Imagine a Metroid "Woven Mail" Power Armor super that could charge an arm cannon to fire Tangles or big energy blasts that sever targets hit. Regular uncharged shots could suspend targets.
You have fucking blade arms and you get stronger by slicing the ever loving fuck out of bad guys. I think that's way cooler than The Colony The Subclass and Spiderman with shatterdive.
@@underscore_5450 we don't need blade arms we already disintegrate things with our bare hands or other tools in multiple supers! It's a redundant addition.
But is it? Focused on Titan punch, I mean. There's only a single thing within the Aspects that affects melee, and it just improves melee regen. Every other benefit is completely generic, you can focus on any other ability/avenue that inflicts Strand debuffs and get the same exact benefits.
Barricades having some offensive potential sounds likes a meaningful change to Titan gameplay but at least in the trailer and blog post it felt like the Berserker wasn't nearly as inspired as the other two
@@Ocachino And Rally Barricade for reload speed to DPS faster, HOIL to boost your other offensive abilities, Hoarfrost for more crystal spam, Citans for one-way gunfights... Offensive Barricade usage is nothing new.
I can understand what people are going on about, I really understand why people are upset about how basic feeling the Titan Supers can feel, with Fist of Havoc, Sentinel Shield, Burning Maul, and Glacial Quake feeling quite similar in terms of general gameplay, the biggest thing being their secondary attacks. I kinda wished that Titans will get actual weapons in their supers at some point, similar to how Hammer of Sol summons a flaming hammer. Something esque of a Warlock's Nova Bomb or a Hunter's Golden Gun, just... something a bit more ranged. Edit: Should add on that I'm a Titan main. I have a Hunter and Warlock, but never play them lol
This is the 4th punching/melee titan super, I get it titan big man take hits then hit hard but there isn’t anything else bungie can do with new titan supers? Maybe the titan gets a massive turret/shoulder cannon to blow stuff up and send out the strand worm things something support wise like a strand mini base that gives strand buffs Last idea is the titan weaves a large area sending a shockwave like the barricade ones first then makes spikes area that damaged enemies in the zone like the brood wizard strike where there’s the purple void spikes
1300 hour Titan main here: My largest complaint about the Strand super, from what footage we've been given, is that it doesn't feel unique compared to what Hunters and Warlocks have been given with the upcoming release and what's been released in the past. We use some form of melee in all of our supers (minus throwing hammers, obv). We shoulder charge, we throw our bodies into a wall or boss, we throw a shield and shield bash, we use an ice-covered fist to punch things, and now we get *another* fist/melee super, where Warlocks and Hunters have gotten unique designs with their supers: staves, ice wizard/ice kamas, throwing knives, laser beams, bombs, etc. I'm happy that the other classes have gotten some seriously cool and unique designs for their supers, regardless of their viability or lack there of, but it feels that Titans are where creativity kind of stops because we're identified as the "punchy bois" of the family where Warlocks are Space Mages and Hunters are Space Cowboys & Stalkers. Berserker could have had such a cool and unique design with battle axes, or the original flamethrower design, but instead we're getting the sour apple punch after the blueberry, iceberry, orange, and grape flavored punch. To me, it's just different flavors of a stale and exhausted class fantasy. That all being said: I remain hopeful that the gameplay loop is fun, and I hope that I and many of the naysayers are proven wrong because of it.
Same. And what stinks is they nerf the gun Titan melees. The stasis melee used to be faster and travel further in pve and hit pretty good. Then they nerfed it to boring because of PvP
Titans are the melee class. It is what it is. You have 3 character slots for a reason, if you want a different play style go play one of the other classes. It's that simple.
My biggest fear with strand titan is other than there super, from reading their aspects are they gonna be even close to void titans neutral game and team survivability cause that class does it so well.
You have a point but there nerfing the barricades and bubble although hunter was supposed to get a dodge nerf but they canceled that and warlock was supposed to get a well of radiance nerf but they canceled that also titans are the only ones getting full nerfs and it’s bull
@@noahthekahuna5337 Well hunter dodge nerf is still technically being added since ability cooldown for everyone is being nerfed so they had to compensate hunters, and Well of radiance deserves a nerf but I think it will be a huge controversy so they're avoiding it for now. Bubble nerf doesn't affect PVE at all so not sure why ppl really care, Bubble in PVP was obviously just the "Win" button in any zone game mode unless you had a super (bubble has the shortest cd tier of supers)
As a Titan main, I think my biggest disappoint with the Titan Strand super comes from the fact that Bungie definitely seems aware of the fact that it looks just like Striker, but green. You already mentioned the retracted quote from the one dev. But there are other examples. From the Tim Clark article: Smith says that during development it felt like a failure if Needlestorm played too much like a green version of Hunter's Blade Barrage super. "That was actually a negative feedback point we got," he says. "So [we decided] it should be about the armada of little green dudes you're making." If the dev team was worried about a class’s Super being somewhat similar to another one, then how can they not be aware about what essentially looks to be a continuous “copy and paste” mentality for the Titans? Then you have the Bungie Strand blog from this week. In the introductions for the Hunters and Warlocks, the authors jumped straight into details about the subclasses and how creative they were and how they worked. For the Titans, they instead told a short story. It felt like the team was trying to find something, anything to make Titan Strand appealing. Admittedly, this is a bit of a reach, but it still felt completely off. I’m not upset that Bladefury is a roaming super or that the rest of the subclass seems to be rather lackluster. What I am upset about is how much effort, care, and creativity is obviously apparent in the Warlock and Hunter Strand subclasses, but not for the Titans. Sometimes I feel like my “Titan identity” is more than just p u n c h, ya know? Honestly, I hope actually playing with Strand proves my apprehensions here to be dead wrong. I want to love the Berserker subclass! Right now I’m not mad, just disappointed. Maybe this is all just a “the Strand is greener on the other side” moment for me. I guess only being able to play in a couple of weeks will tell!
I felt like my titan identity for years was tank everything in the room and then use My super and melee to get around the room fast enough to revive my teammates and still damage the boss, mind you that is with me trying to be positive and ignore the glaringly obvious bad game design here. Titan's literally have 4 flavors of Fists of Havoc if you include the rising twin fire hammers. Solar, Strand, Stasis and Arc all have their own versions of fist of havoc. I expected more from bungie.
@@asimovstarling8806 I feel this 100%, honestly the tanky "soak the room" mentality is a huge part of why I switched over to titan from hunter. I just really wish Bungie would look at the other side of titan instead of doubling down on "You punch good. Not the best, but good." and have more fun with the tactician/commander side of titans. Give us the titans that held the wall against fallen incursions, give us our "YOU ARE MY PEOPLE" moments back.
I really feel you on how the article felt like it glossed over titan a bit. They were so excited to talk about threadlings for warlocks, and how grappling will be the hunter's proficiency, and it didn't feel like they had a good grasp on "This is the thing you should be excited about playing a Berserker!". Yeah it's meant to be highly mobile but that's the overall identity for Strand, not just strand titans. I dunno, I'm still going to be playing a Titan for Lightfall and exploring it myself- hopefully it also has an aspect where it can shine, like being a master of Woven Mail or applying improved Severances. All titans can punch to some degree, and I'll be interested to discover what it is that berserkers can do that others can't.
I’m interested to see if severing a target can stack with the psychohack origin trait. Would be cool if it does and makes enemies deal like 80% less damage or something And yeah, as a Titan I’m tempted to swap over to Warlock at this point.
@@randomguy51090It’s unironically my favorite special weapon type in GMs, it's mainly because of the shield as it can be a literal lifesaver but the melee is great against small charging enemies like thralls and the scorn torch guys, and the range attack has decent damage and good ammo economy. Wishender and Nazerac Whisper (the arc glaive) is such a great combo in Lightblade GM.
They should made the titan berserker like Baruuks 4th ability “Serene Storm” in warframe. He has empowered fists and melee hits but through different combos he sends waves of energy outwards extending his range and lifting enemies. I always wanted titans to be about area denial and domination. “This is my spot, try to kill me”. They could of leaned more into that instead of punchy man whose melee will whiff half the time anyways.
@@Dante45p doesn't the main melee server and the ranged heavy attack suspend enemies? That definitely makes it more inventive and less of a "mindless aggression" super...

honestly i was hopping that maybe the titan melee would be momentum-based, like you swing towards a group of enemies and barrel through them like a wrecking ball
i think it would be so cool if the titans could use the grapple to launch themselves at an enemy and do a big shoulder charge esk attack that maybe caused the hit enemy to explode into seeking projectiles. and they could combo it with a strand warlock, if the seeking projectiles don't have a target to hit the warlock can get them like its normal strand projectiles.
@@luketaylor4493 I believe there is a mechanic for something at least slightly similar to this in the form of grapple melees. I could be wrong, but from what I remember they are supposed to be different from a standard melee so maybe we'll get that (at least I hope we do)
@@GreyWolf5555 Right, but I think an argument could be made for making a "grapple melee but even bigger damage" super would have been better than the recycled super that Titans look like they're gonna get. Honestly I feel like it would’ve been cool to just make a super where maybe the titan could send out big spikes of woven threads in every direction for like 20 seconds or something (say like ramattra’s ult in OW). It could deal damage or maybe give super boosted wovenmail for crazy DR and pull enemies within the AoE in.

@@Dante45p Same with hunter class identity if you ask me. Unless a hunter is shatter-skating, warlocks and titans have always been faster. The only class that has to spec into mobility being the slowest is ironic poetry
Idk how I feel about the berserker as a titan main who also plays all three classes, woven mail seems to be a green void over shield and one of our new aspects is literally one of the worst exotic armor in the game but repackaged as an aspect this time, same goes for the new super, it really seems like fists of havoc and glacial quake but with a different color. Overall it just seems like less effort and creativity went into the strand titan compared to the other two classes.
It's very different from void over shield. You lose your over shield when you take damage, woven mail is just DR on a timer. It's more like a free well of tenacity.
I love how people say: "It hasn't come out yet so you can't judge it untill we play around with it." Name ONE Destiny subclass showcase trailer in which we didn't have a good understanding of what it could do just by watching the trailer. Taken King showed us throw a solar hammer and bash people in the face with it and that's exactly what we got. Forsaken not only showed us what Banner Shield, Thundercrash and Burning Maul do, but it had *descriptions* of what they did. Beyond light showed titans slaming their fist on the ground and froze enemies and punched enemies by flying at them... once again exectly what we got. Also, for the people complimenting the Strand titan for damage resistance, need I remind you that Beheimoth with Whisper of Chains is probably essentially going to do the same thing. At the end of the day, what we got is another roaming, melee-centric add-clear super. It's ok though, I'll just wait for the red subclass to have us hit people with scissor hands rather than spike hands. I am honestly sick of people pulling these conspiracy theories out of thin air, like us titans simply aren't seeing something. It's like people are implying that this one thing COMPLETLY changes the way we're going to play with the Strand super. C'mon people, stop prending like there's this *H i d d e n a b i l i t y* that Bungie isn't showing us. Get fucken real will ya?
@@harrisonczichas3416 I completely agree! But the way you have mentioned this is too funny😂😂 as a titan main I'm bored with the sameplay style over and over
I think that if the titan woven mail combo thing is strong enough to give us the ability to actually tank melee hits in endgame then it could fit in to the titan "playstyle" or whatever its called. It would have to be stronger then just an overshield though because void titan already does that well
Based on the twab, I'd hope that Strand is able to keep the Mail Refreshed through it's aspects, letting the titan stay mobile, while Void acts more as a "Bastion" to return to when they need it. The Strand Titan needs engagement to be effective, while the Void Titan relies on being Safe to return to. Unstoppable Force, immovable Object. As a Warlock tho, I am currently cackling at the triple melee with my precious Winters.
I get the idea for Titan being survivability and team support but did they have to use such similar ingredients? Feel like they kind of tunnel vision Titan being the punchy person and limit themselves within it. Titan to me is just frontline, tanky brawler, first one into a fight and the last one out of the fight. Arc Titan was originally the Punchy Punch Titan going so far as to even turn yourself into a missile to punch them in the face harder and with Arc 3.0 there actually was a variant melee build that was viable in high end content solo, but you had to keep pace. Then Bungie nerfed it. Then you have Solar and Void Titan which both dont feature punches per se and have throwable melee weapons which are then featured in their supers. So far Strand just looks like a repaint of Stasis, get some Damage Reduction from your interactions, maybe some Overshields, CC enemies with your heavy and detonate the things you spawn for more benefits, Stasis was even promoted as being slower paced and more defensive. Why is a sub class all about new forms of mobility, high APM, and speed following in Stasis' path? Sure it has a 3 charge melee that has a dash attached to it but from the sounds of it your incentivized to dump everything in the moment for its sole purpose outside of PvP, which if we're following Stasis you can imagine what will happen with that down the line.
As someone who mained titan since d1 beta and recently switched to warlock my main issue is titan the last two expansions that involved new subclasses felt uninspired compared to warlock and hunter. I remember back in d1 when we finally got new subclasses it felt inspired and flvastly different to the other two subclasses, titan got hammers not a punching super, hunter got a bow which was different than arc blades and golden gun, warlocks were able to become emperor Palpatine which was unique bc it was there first roaming super...I mean I know they could buff ability regen with the solar super but you weren't ruing around killing enemies like say fist of havoc so it was pretty unique. Fast forward to beyond light and we get warlocks with freezing turrets, hunters got a new movement shatterdive and shurikans and the super was pretty neat, titan....fist of havoc freezing....it just doesn't feel nearly as creative as say throwing hammers or when they added the other solar subclass burning maul. Wish they got some more ❤️ love.
It’s more to the fact it’s now a 6th roaming super all using the light and heavy attack system with punches like why not a minigun or a wall that reflect bullets maybe even a giant sword likes guts from berserk it just feels like titans have been heavily bottlenecked into “punch thing” while also nerfing everything that buffs melees and having no specific melee orientated items besides bad exotics (synthos excluded)
I think the issue with titan supers is that it's hard to have a super that's not roaming, while keeping it unique, and while keeping it in line with the ideas of a titan. For example, a minigun would be a super that's just, more shooting. Which can get old fast and with little room for interesting gameplay. A wall that reflects bullets, that's just another version of banner shield. And a giant sword would just be another roaming super with a light and heavy attack system. I agree that it would be nice to have something super interesting and inspired, but with titans, it just doesn't fit us. We're a class based around simplicity and effectivness.
@@626lancerI honestly don’t even mind roaming melee super as a concept, but there has to be more creativity than “punch stuff but green now” the difference between burning maul and sentinel shield is immense, if they kept that level of creativity and limited “punch stuff” to striker nobody would be complaining right now.
As a warlock strand looks amazing but I wish we could get one super where we weild the actual weapon we manifest and not just use projectiles (specifically looking at you solar). Can't wait to make an army of strand though.
@@minimhlk7254 when the sword is in the ground as well of radiance yes, during daybreak no. Well also is the warlock literally using magic to form an aura via the sword, more like a wizard than a weapon user.
Titan here. Kinda upset but what else was I expecting :\ hoping that there is some damage output in this class cuz it really seems like it’s just a crowd control class
I remember watching vids discussing Stasis Titan as more of a mobility class, I don’t fully buy it, but if the strand melee is comparable for lunging in a direction- but with 3 charges this time- could make some use of that. As for the super? it seems the exact same scenario with stasis- gain an empowered version of your melee, super armor, and a second attack with more range, use if out of Dps weapon ammo or to kill mooks, although it looks like less Aoe and more single target than behemoth slam. Here’s an idea that just popped into my head, what if the strand super just full on stopped you from dying? It’d fit the beserker theme, and while I don’t raid much, If you’re doing some weird fireteam puzzle in a raid then getting temporary death immunity could come in handy somewhere I’m sure.
I was kinda hoping for another one-off titan super, something where when you cast, you dig your claws into the ground and create a cone in front of you that suspends and severs your targets, and then when you tear your claws out of the ground, a wave of strand crashes over the targets, dealing high damage to close targets and then lessening as it gets further away.
Or what if the super was like the titan lets out a roar and sends out a lion that’s made out of strand energy that bites the enemy and explodes. It would be a burst dps super. Kind of like night wolf from mortal kombat. It fits more with their old name tyrant that bungie for some reason decided to change.
As a titan, I wasn't exitced for stasis just looking at the other two. I feel literally the exact same then as I do now. And I still never play Behemoth. I just don't want strand to be the same feeling and am really hoping I'm proven wrong. I want more fun options not less man
It would be so cool for Titan to take on what the Team Fortress 2 heavy is with a massive Gatling gun for a super. Or even like high powered shots from a waist-held GL where it’s casted similar to Moebius Quiver on Hunter where you can pop off 2-3 insanely high powered shots. They need to play into the idea that Titan can hold all of these insanely massive and heavy guns that the other classes can’t physically hold.
I’ve always loved the idea of Titan this bulwark of strength that would protect all those standing behind them some kind of super similar to Braum’s quake from League of Legends would have been an awesome ( I know it’s ice but still) or even something similar to or something even like Maoki ultimate to where it pushes everyone in his vicinity lunging them backwards
That first one you described is just the void super lol. Guarding makes a MASSIVE protected field now that anyone allies can shoot through. I also recommend the Hoarfrost Z exotic for stasis Titan, it’s effectively putting a massive barrier down for allies to hide behind that feels more natural than the glacier grenade
Just adding my voice to the growing cacophony, I think Strand looks very cool, its a different approach from the normal gameplay style that we've had in Destiny since launch. That being said the time beat a dead horse is here; Titans got shafted. My concern isn't that the Berserker or whatever its called will be bad or suboptimal, and even if it turns out to be an incredibly powerful roaming super with good crowd control and damage reduction as they're advertising, it just looks like it's not fun. We play games for fun, and when we compare the toolkit that Titans are receiving to the other two classes, you could just really feel that their (Bungie) heart wasn't in it when it came down to the execution of the class as a whole, everything from the super itself to even just the animations of your classes abilities, it just feels very hollow. That being said, I'm eager to try it and see what kind of deliverance we can bring to the field, and I truly hope that the class itself is strong, if not exciting. I've played nothing but Titan since the D1 Beta so many years ago, and I don't intend on stopping now.
I’m a titan main as well and I’m personally looking forward to it a lot actually. Getting three melee charges and it’s a dash? That sounds cool to me. And I know that people get pissed when titans are classified by punch and melee everything. But I personally love being on the front lines and playing that style and it’s why I play titan. I do however obviously see where everyone is coming from and I would admit that something different would’ve been better.
I honestly don't know if we've watched the same trailers and read the same articles. Compared to every other class on Titan, I would much rather be dashing around and slashing things with ramping attack speed, that sounds awesome. With the addition of grappling and the lashes on barricade and super, I feel like dashing around slicing everything up is going to be so much more fun than any of the other Titan subclasses give us. To be clear, I don't hate Titan, I actually really love all the stuff they have, but extreme mobility and speed has been something that titan has lacked with everything it has currently.
Yeah I felt from the trailer that strand for titans felt a little uninspired, maybe with the stacking melee attack speed the super will feel like ash's ult from warframe(if people know about that), bouncing between targets really quickly, though I don't think that's likely. The kephri's horn barrier thing I was hoping was not going to be an aspect but rather integrated into barricades within strand. I was hoping that titan's would have gotten another instant super as a lot of titan supers tend to be roaming supers.
I personally think titans need more support based supers. Two concepts I had were for solar and void. Where for solar the titan slams down their burning maul, making a Well of Radiance sized sunspot of sorts. And for void they summon the sentinel shield in their left hand and then punch it from behind, shooting a large wave forward that does damage and either weakens or suppresses anything in the aoe. Allows for more support based titans and still fits with the themes of their current supers.
Void Titans would've been unlikely to get that concept. Bubble and Banner shield already increase dmg in their respective methods and some form of protection. I don't see any Titan willing to give up on demand suppression/weakening in their grenade for the same effect from a super. Plus, Helm of Saint-14 gives overshield for bubble and blinds most enemies and Ursa Furiosa gives super energy back up to 50% on blocking dmg, and an aspect that gives overshield on demand as well. Sunbreaker could be 50/50 on getting it but probably leaning towards not. Sunbreaker has always been about dmg for both Hubters and Titans. Sunbreaker only gets some support for the team out of it because of Phoenix Cradle with can become on demand with throwing hammer kills which is further backed by roaring flames, healing nades if you want to double up on healing, and charged melees making you and your team radiant and immediately get your melee back upon getting the hammer back. Had 3.0 subclasses not been a thing still, these would've been interesting ideas for sure.
I wouldn't mind "Striker recolors" if they felt better to use. I feel like their gimmicks are different enough to differentiate them but can't perform well enough in most cases. I also think repetitive attack animations put a damper on the fantasy a super is supposed to embody. Same goes for supers that reuse the charged melee animation. Fist of havoc I'd say is by far the most guilty of all of this in my opinion, especially when compared to arc staff that can do everything FoH can but far better as well as other things.
I actually think the Warlock "Needlestorm" is actually a good case for what you're describing. The Strand Warlock Super is effectively a Blade Barrage that makes tracking seekers almost like a Cataclysm Nova Bomb. The Threadling component recontextualizes the preexisting effect. Although it help that its on a different subclass. Having three Titan Supers use a very similar framework is definitely a bit stale, even if the ability could (in theory) be powerful.
I think if we could spawn strand spikes from the ground that start by slowing/damaging enemies in a focused area and ends off with the spikes extending more from the ground dealing big damage to the enemies caught within the area, think it would be a cool non roaming option
Sweet Business What class did you envision holding the gun? Chances are, if it wasn't a titan, then it was your main class. Point is, you can absolutely give Titans an identity beyond "hurrr I cast fist". I could absolutely see a titan super that involves summoning a BFG of some variety. Could even *gasp* weave a giant cannon out of strand and fire off a couple of high-explosive shells that debuff targets hit. Like the Colossus from Anthem.
I'm a warlock main but completely understand the Titans that have problems with strand, I have been reading a lot about this because in the start I thought "Well, Titans are the punching class what else could the super be if not melee?" but seeing all the creative ideas trying to show the protector side of titan changed my mind completely. I saw that most of titans talking about this said that they favorite super was the void one and is a really good example of what the titan CAN be, the super punch with a shield, yes, but also protects the entire team with ward of dawn or blocking with the sentinel shield and helps the titans look like this impenetrable wall and is reeeally cool I really think that the new subclase should have been a support subclase, either for protecting or giving some nice buffs to the team, my favorite idea is that the titans use strand to create something like a fortress of strand, like a wall with windows to shoot throw and towers on the side like a castle, and while been in this fortress you get that new strand shield and a maybe some damage buff ( or maybe another of the strand things) That was just my grain of sand on this and I hope that the super is more than we think although I doubt it now that we have seen the aspects
I 100% agree with you on the “let’s wait and see how it is”. Although I am worried that the uptime on the heavy attack will be similar to the shield throw on sentinel, basically making it a melee super. As it stands now, 71% of titan supers are roaming, and 80% of those supers are melee only. We need Bladefury’s projectile attack(s) to have high uptime.
I think I'm more annoyed that people are trying to shut down the complaints as "cry baby whining" when it's a valid complaint. I'm still going to use the subclass, just disappointed that it's another roaming punch super. Nice vid Datto
titan isnt just the punch fantasy. its the tank, the bulk, the big, the immovable object, or the unstoppable force. its can be both or either. ideas that have merrit that arent just punching: -radiation/radial: people get weaker the closer the get to the titan or take damage, or get proc'd with debuffs -redirecting damage/taking fire: insentivising titans to push and take damage with the promise of being able to deal more damage the more they take themselves -segregation: creating areas, objects or remnants that zone things off. think of a steamroller flattening a corn field at 70mph -depth charge: exploding on death, making others explode for touching you. gaining buffs for being in the middle of an explosion, think underwater mine that you cant disarm safely so you rather avoid it -high payload / ordinance: like said in the video, having weaponry, grenades or lasers that come at a cost, or gain from investing into them -gravity: bigger you are, harder you fall, landing on things, terminal velocity, falling from a high place makes you land harder and deal damage. theres more but you get my point. none of these are done or used, they all have the 'im big block of lead' written on them but dont resemble other perks other classes have entirely. what did bungie go for? 'haha your blue fists are green now weeeee'
I, for one, did not pick Titan for "Hurr durr I punch." I picked it because it was the unmovable object, the defender of the last city, the ones who HELD twilight gap. I picked it for the fantasy of overwhelming defence against unimaginable odds, and Bungie seems to, at ever possible turn destroy that fantasy and turn every titan subclass into a dumb crayon eating ape who only knows how to use their fist.
always love it when game devs say how cool or unique ideas had but they didnt add them because its too difficult 😍(transformations have never been done before in gaming)
placing a strand wall that you can shoot through and each bullet applies strand key words to the target, similar to the sentinel shield block coulda been cool
I feel like they could have leaned more on the titans being the punchy tanks but instead of them getting up close and personal they could punch into some threads of strand which would then send a shockwave outwards or they could have even done a hulk clap for their melee considering warlocks got the clicky fingers with solar
as a Titan main it does just look to be arc staff but green. I dont think it will be a BAD super i think it just wont be FUN. If I could ask them to make a simple change it would be to give the slashes a ranged "beam" or slice that comes out. Think like titan version of dawnblade but it suspends instead of kills, then make the heavy do the two slash upward thingy we see in the trailer to kill. Just something unique. The interaction with the verbs of strand will be different i know it will be but its not enough of a difference for the SUPER
You just described the super as arc staff, said they should add a slice that comes out when attacking effectively ignoring your own comparison since arc staff does that anyway.
@@CipherTheMage it's all just a projectile, but with dawn blade the projectiles are the main attack (it's a ranged super). Arc staff is a melee super with projectiles as a bonus just like the new titan strand super. The constant projectiles you're wanting added to melee attacks are literally what arc staff is.
As a warlock main I’m definitely excited. I love the overcharge/consume nade mechanic and that’s coming with strand at launch so I’m happy. I also love the idea of having screeb like minions to go fight enemies for/with me.
As a titan I'm super excited for the warlock subclass, it definitely seems like the most fun and original thing in the whole game, being able to control a whole army of spiders and be able to mass produce the things, it seems like the perfect titan fantasy of control the battlefield and everything on it. If bungie don't do a last minute redesign of berserker then you know what class I'm using instead.
Being a titan main I am pretty upset that titans did basically get what looks like a new striker/stasis titan clone. I know the stereotype or gimmick for titans is "Hee hoo I punch enemy" but I would of loved to get some diversity. Hunters get an entirely new weapon, and while Warlocks get one that is similar to nova bomb, it's still got some pretty unique aspects which haven't really been shown before. For titan I would of loved a weapon, or maybe even a juggernaut type super which enhances abilities, damage and survivability. Honestly even if they turned the claws into Drills that would of been way more exciting than what we got. Don't get me wrong, I'm still excited, I love destiny and Im really happy to keep getting huge content, I'm just sad from what it *could* of been, and the exploration of a more creative idea. I would of even been ok if they sudo copied Burning maul, but replace the hammer with a tower mace, or a moon hammer, with more base combos. Spit balling other ideas out there other weapons could include a Greatsword (could have a slash attack like FATE Sabers Phantasm), a single handed mace and shield combo, a flurry of chains like ghost rider, a gun like Hunters golden gun, being a rocket, LMG, 50 BMG rifle, big shot stuff like that. The enhanced armour idea would be the least exciting on this list, but perhaps it could make you appear bigger in size, increase damage and defense and have special abilities to that stance. I understand game design is hard, I'm not a game designer so I shouldn't complain or be very mad about these things, especially when they aren't out, but I can't help but be upset that so far, it looks like we are getting just another striker/stasis lookalike. I agree with Dattos view that while the subclass may be good with damage numbers and other things, but it seems boring to play, if it's ANYTHING like stasis or striker, I'm never going to touch it other than if I have to. One more idea for the rest of you, Gatling guns for the arms, think transformers weaponry in the movies, where they transform their arms into cannons or weapons, imagine titans getting either a one and done super with canons for arms, or A more roaming type super with two Gatling arms. Honestly it would solve the problem of having something unique, solve the problem of titans being mostly melee focused, and solve a personal gripe of actually having another firearm made from light other than golden gun.
I would LOOOOVE a Gatling gun super, but it seems like Titans are always going to be the close-range class (ignoring throwing hammers). If Heir Apparent didn't exist, it'd be perfect as a Titan super.
It's called Berserker, why not a Dragonslayer sword like Guts...from Berserk? Big sweeps and lunges, overhead flip/spin downward slams? Not to mention Berserk fits the "retro action film" idea Bungie has been talking about as a jump off point when developing Lightfall. The Super could be pulling the strand sword off our back then woven mail forms around us as an omage to the Berserker armor Guts wears. Kills in super replenish woven mail stacks and refresh the super energy drain a small amount. In other words, if you are surrounded and keep slicing you'll stay in super, but obviously that part wouldn't apply to PvP for balancing reasons.
I agree with what you said. Game design is hard and we aren’t game designers so we shouldn’t be super upset, but in all honesty, as a Titan main myself I can say that I don’t want ANOTHER roaming-addclear-melee super. Again, I’m trying to be respectful to the people designing the sub classes, but I feel like the people designing them don’t understand what Titan mains want. It feels like the people making these classes aren’t anyone who’s ever mained as a Titan. The only true ranged super has been Sunbreaker and that class came out over 8 years ago. In 8 years Titans haven’t gotten any other purely ranged subclass. Sentinel helped a little bit, but it was more of like a [jack of all trades] kind of deal, having you melee, block and throw a shield every few seconds. Yet no other Titan super could rapid-fire projectiles like Sunbreaker… there still isn’t. From what it looks like, we’re just going to get a copy of the behemoth. I know people like to say: “It hasn’t come out yet so you can’t judge it.” Name one Destiny subclass trailer that we all saw and didn’t get a good understanding of what it could do just by looking at the trailer. The Taken King trailer showed us throwing the hammer and bashing people with it… and we got that exact thing in the game. In the Forsaken trailer, not only did it show us our new supers, but it gave us *descriptions* while they were on screen. Again, i’m trying to be respectful to the people making these classes, but I’m gonna keep repeating myself about how dumb this is because at this point it just feels lazy. I know the people making these classes are putting their heart and soul into them, but it’s hard to believe that no one was like: “Ya know, maybe we should give Titans an instant super or a ranged one instead giving them another melee centric roaming super for addclear. I hope the neutral game is unique though.
@@savagewraith dope idea ngl. Tbh if the final subclass is red energy all my complaints about titan lack of originality will go out the window if they give us red titan with a big ol edgelord greatsword. Appeases my edgy teen at heart far too much lol.
Datto have you seen the concept art for the strand flamethrower titans could have had, don’t believe it ever made it to development, but it would’ve been cool.
Fuck yeah, this is the most excited for a super I've ever been, stasis tornado was lame, arc staff throw was the same, lame. This one actually looks FUN.
A couple pain points for Titans. 1. Bungie notoriously always nerfs powerful melee builds. 2. Bungie does not typically give us the tools to face tank powerful enemies which are required for melee builds(or they nerf them as well). 3. Lots of reused animations for Berserker super, so it doesn't look unique. Another personal grievance; the new Hunter Strand melee ability is a combination of features Titans have asked for long time now(referring to the projectile properly ricochets between targets-shield throw, AND has a recall function-mini hammer). I'm sure Berserker will be powerful, but it doesn't get me excited(especially our first strand exotic lol).
Even if the woven mail is good I’ll feel like it’ll just feel overly similar to the fire hammer build. Mele to get a buff that helps you survive longer. It is cool that it effects your team though
Void was one of the nicest 3.0 classes because each subclass has a verb that is mostly specialised in each class and tuned around their abilities. Overshield, volatile for titans, invis, truesight, smoke for hunters and devour for worlocks. This is lacking in the other classes making them more boring. Strand just seems like titan never got a thing to specialise in because making melees strong will never work because it will always turm into another trash ad killer or be far too op.
All I’ve ever wanted is for hunters to be the mobility masters/planetary scouts like bungie wrote them in the lore to be and now I can finally feel that way.
same its been too long playing "the invisibility class" since void 3.0 completely got rid of it being the scout class hunters are not even a sneaky class to begin with in lore theyre more of cowboys, defenders of the frontier who scout past explored areas using their agility and wit to their advantage
The funny thing is that even if it was a roaming super, it's still bad because we titans do not have a one and done lethal super (like blade barrage or nova bomb). Missile is technically a roaming super and bubble well it's a defense super. In the Vidoc they showed a concept of strand titans with a machine gun / flamethrower. HOW SICK ISN'T THAT, but instead we get first of havoc V.4 while hunters get a super dope new super and warlocks get a somewhat new super but with a really interesting neutral play. Well, we'll just have to see I guess
One thing I thought about for the titan subclass that I thought was cool, taking the titan into a kinda Kratos vibe by having the titans swing big flails or something like that on chains and whipping those around, I feel it kinda fits with both strand and titan aesthetic and there would be some fun abilities you can make from that initial idea
I know that the Strand Titan Super will definitely offer a more unique gameplay when roaming, but I do think they should have given them a different melee weapon or something that doesn’t resemble punching a lot of things. Speaking as a Hunter main, I feel like I can look at all my Light and Dark supers and say that even if two or three of them behave a little similarly to another, they still all look and feel distinct from one another because they always take advantage of weaponry whether it’s a hand cannon, kama blades, or a staff. Titans in contrast have only three supers focused around weaponry, but that’s more understandable since their identity is more focused around melee/hand-to-hand combat. However, I think Titan Mains were looking for something a little more visually distinct rather than fists or even weaponry. I think every class in the game should have a first person, roaming ranged weapon super like Golden Gun and that they should be based on the exotics on the new character creation screen (Titans get an Auto Rifle and Warlocks get a Submachine Gun) While I do know that the Titan subclass and super will feel distinct, Titan mains do definitely have a right to be worried about its viability because since Witch Queen launch, I think I have only seen Glacial Quake used twice during the entirety of Year 5. It also doesn’t help that they have the most close-range roaming supers out of any other class in the game. I definitely hope it will be viable, but just remember not to completely trash on something before we have it in our hands. I believe that it will be good, but I think the criticism should shift over the visual aspect of the super rather than how much a fist super will be viable.
as a titan main I'm not worried about its viability in endgame (which lets be honest it will probably suck), I'm worried that it will be samey, unoriginal and unfun to play. I think its coming from a place of jealousy of the other classes that get new and original and fun looking stuff in strand while we Titans get something that is just practically a reskin of 2 other subclass we already have. I just hope Bungie will be more original with the next subclass.
Hot take: I really like it. It’s everything I’ve ever wanted from a titan subclass. The other ones are just a sort of “one big move or hit” while this one is stringing attacks together and dashing around. It looks sick in my opinion and perfectly fits the titan. I do feel that player’s backlash is justifiable.
Thank you that’s what I’m saying. It isn’t as copy paste like other people are saying it looks like it’s got its own identity as a Titan roaming super and looks a lot faster and bouncier than the other roaming supers titans have. I’m really excited for it personally.
The main issue is just that every Titan super is useless for DPS windows because of DPS loss compared to using weapons. The exceptions are Bubble (where Well just takes its lunch money) and Thundercrash which is not always viable due to distances (e.g. Oryx, Sanctified Mind) or requirements of some type of buff mechanic (Caretaker, Warpriest). I can count on one finger the number of boss encounters where non-Bubble, non-TC supers are actually a good idea to use. Don't get me wrong, the instances where TC is viable is hella fun (Atraks Challenge mode, Taniks between DPS windows), but Titans really need something more universally viable as a one and done super. If we had one damage super with the cast speed and effective range similar to Blade Barrage or Nova, even if it didn't do that much damage by itself, Titans would finally be able to stop asking for it.
@@Technizor thats not even my main issue lol. Im just sad at how boring and unimaginative most have been. Its even worse with strand because the options were endless, literally endless. So many things would've worked so well and been a suuuper interesting and unique super. One I saw was you weave a wall and all damage to your teammates is directed to you, but you get buffed in different ways depending. This would be the coolest thing ever and fit titan to a tee. Or what about a giant minigun, or a giant sword. Everyone else gets a super unique and interesting kit. We get "whazzah, place your barrier." Its like bungie genuinely is buying into the meme that titans are morons and need the simplest stuff possible. Oh I forgot about spam your melee. I don't care how good it is or how strong it is, its just super sad seeing the disappointing lack of creativity where the others get super intricate builds of my dreams.
My complaint as a Titan main is that our Ward of Dawn is HEAVILY outshined by Well of Radiance and our only one and done super does less damage than Nova Bomb and Golden Gun and is likely to make less orbs for our team as well and only can outshine these other supers with an exotic chest piece for boss damage and that our only one and done requires us to physically leave our position with the team to go hurtling ourselves at the target which brings a more problems that none of the other two main classes have to deal with. With strand and the tangled balls being basically Warmind replacements, they had a great chance to make the Titan's have an super around just a big blast that dealt some good damage and suspended targets caught in the blast and make it's damage proximity base to the point of impact. Instead, we got anther roaming super in a game that roaming supers are mostly just trash. There is reason no one runs Arcstrider or Stormcaller when they all require you to run out of position. I have high hopes this new Berserker super changes things up and lets Titans have a roaming super that isn't just trash clean up or "I'm out of heavy, might as well hammer spam now" but seeing how they made Glacial Quake and Burning Maul and Banner Shield and Fist of Havoc (huzzah a 20% damage buff after years of it being even more worthless) so lack luster, I do not have the faith that it will change anything at all and just become anther super that Titan's will only pop because they need the hyperarmor to survive a mistake.
Personally, I love the idea of Warlocks finally being a dedicated summoner class. I've been wanting something like it for a while now, and it's only a couple of weeks away.
Idea for a better Strand Titan super: Dual Wielding Crown-Splitter (I don't have a better name lmao) Holding the aim button charges a thrust attack that pierces through enemies, enemies that survive are inflicted the Unraveled and Severed status effect Holding the heavy atack button charges a jump atack that slams both swords into the ground making an explosion that Suspends enemies that receive damage and launches spikes after the initial slam if completely charged Light attack well, work as a light atack, attacks are faster each hit up to a 3 times stack
Personally, I expect Berserker to play like a very aggressive tank. I imagine the concept is to get woven mail on anyone and everyone you can then use you melee/ other mobility tools keep the enemies focused on you. I know "aggro" isn't necessarily a mechanic in destiny, but when you're up close things focus you. That takes fire off your allies.
Damage resist isn't enough for this strategy to work though, you need insane, noninteruptable healing combined with enough resist so that you are never one shot. If you don't have non interruptable healing resist will never be enough to keep you alive for long enough for that play style to make sense.
I think a bigger point against Strand Titan design is how its combat loop (shoot tangle/generate orb to get Woven Mail to survive in melee in order to debuff/CC enemies) requires setup, which heavily affects the tempo, feel and usability of the subclass. It looks awkward to play, reads as gimmicky and its another melee roaming super, which just don't cut mustard. Just like how everyone knew touch of thunder was gonna be good, we can also infer that this is going to be meh at best. I get they want to lean into the "Titan punches things" fantasy but its pretty clear they ran out of ideas when they got to designing Titan. They could have made it so that Titans get a grapple that pulls enemies toward you (and you toward bosses) where you punch them at the end (like the hunter dunk, but with fists); they could have let titans have an aspect that lets them consume their grenade or barricade for instant woven mail to improve synergy and promote riskier play. Of all the ideas, they chose to make a reskinned shiver strike, a reskinned spectral blades and a Khepri barricade? It just screams that they threw it together at the last second because they spent all their time on the other two.
I think the "X-Factor" people are forgetting about is Tangles. Tangles will be generated whenever you kill a Strand debuffed enemy, Titans inflict a Strand debuff on their melee with 3 charges, class ability with Aspect, and of course grenades, in addition Titan's will have an aspect that gives Woven Mail (DR) whenever you detonate a Tangle that also gives you improved Melee Energy while Woven Mail is active as well as there being a Fragment that gives a burst of Melee energy whenever Tangles "damage" targets. So the Titan loop sounds like it's gonna be "Melee a trash mob to create a Tangle and then throw that Tangle to damage enemies and buff allies" and then you have the class ability to disable a whole group of enemies like a Blinding GL which will also create a Tangle or 2 when you're done cleaning them up. So to me Strand Titan sounds less like "Punch but green" and more like "Mad demolition expert that unravels his enemies into bombs to kill more enemies" while also having the mobility to grab and make use of the bombs. And the Super also sounds more like it will play more like an aggressive version of Spectral Blades with an escalating attack speed and a debilitating heavy that will allow you to close the gap, but that's definitely in the "wait and see" camp to know how it'll actually perform. (Also Strand verbs are supposed to have Anti-Barrier and Unstoppable but I don't think it has been specified in what way yet, I'm guessing Suspend will be Unstoppable and Unravel will be Anti-Barrier maybe.)
Class identity and fun are VEEERY important to our subclasses. Warlock mains have been repeating this for MONTHS. Solar is powerful, but not fun. So I GET this point- it's same-y. Punch things with green light. Hopefully there will be more to it.
@@osamasayed5711 one note subclass that relies on only one super 99.9999999999999% of the time. Air combat aspects are (currently) weighted down by airborne effectiveness, long cool downs and a horrible super. Are there good things about it? Is it powerful? Hell yeah. But to me it's not FUN. I have more varied and fun builds with void, stasis and yes, arc then I ever had in solar. I went through multiple exotics, approaches, you name it. It just wasn't enjoyable. @@milosradmilac8911 if the movement potential offered by icarus dash, the best mobility option in D2 by a mile doesnt interest you, then yeah the subclass isnt for you. I heavily enjoy it so for me the subclass is broken beyond salvation in fun factor and usefulness. To add the class is complete without any exotic required, cant say the same for any other subclass in d2.
@@osamasayed5711 void is complete without any exotics required, solar... Really? Point me to a good build that doesn't use one? Icarus dash doesn't prevent you from becoming mincemeat in air or shooting like a blind man up there. You enjoy it? Go ahead. I don't. To be clear: if you enjoy it knock yourself out. I don't. As Datto pointed out: something can be strong but not fun. And TO ME, that is the perfect way to describe solar warlock. A powerful annoying subclass.
Am I missing something regarding Thread of Finality's description, as well as Finishers in general, starting at 7:37? I know Armor Charge is now linked to benefits from Finishers (like spawning ammo bricks), caching an Armor Charge instead of a portion of your Super energy, but I hadn't heard anything beyond that, and the description for the Fragment says nothing about requiring an Armor Charge to generate a Threading via a Finisher.
You are correct. Subclass based finisher bonuses are as free as slotting the fragment is. (E.g. amplified finisher, Invis finisher) The other ones that are generic and restore specific basic abilities or generate special ammo are getting Armor Charge costs instead of super energy costs.
What has me unsatisfied with green fist of Havoc is that in the early previews, we had a One-Off Beyblade spin of death. Whether if that is going to be implemented at a later date or scrapped, we will have to see.
I think there is design space for "punchy defender" class to have more mechanically diverse supers and emphasis. Like a fan shaped super that yanks everyone in for a melee attack, or a straight line aoe damage over time super with like, a giant two handed sword. I think Bungie can deliver on warrior aesthetic and thematic in a space that hasn't really been explored yet.
The worst part is it's not even hard to come up with cool Titan supers that still work with the "punch/melee class" identity they have. How about a super where they kick things? Maybe have different kick moves that stomp the ground and send out shockwaves or something. Or how about a super where they punch the air and massive Fist-projectiles fly out of them? So it's a ranged super but they still use their fist. You could do a barrage of smaller punches or charge it (like striker melee) and send out a massive punch instead. I thought of both of these ideas in 45 seconds.
I am very excited for warlock strand. If there is a game with a summoner class I always go for it. I love having a mini army so im looking foward to it.
My only complaint thus far is that there's very little variety in what we can summon. But I'm fine with that. I just hope threadlings can do enough damage to not constantly be getting used up by singular ads in pve. It'd really be a feelbad moment if I cast my rift, make like 3 threadlings, then shoot a tangle and make 2 more, and then use a finisher and get 3 more, and all but 2 of them get used up on a yellow bar cabal colossus.
@@frauasyl What I'd like to see is something akin to Diablo 2 Skeleton summons. Maybe you summon some suicide threadlings, maybe you summon some threadlings that jump on enemies and just hold them in place, (and after it dies the threadling detaches and comes back to you). You could use some kind of aspect that determines how many of each type you have.
@@meateaw I was thinking more like our tangles could have some additional functionality where they float around very slowly and shoot projectiles that "sever" enemies.
Honestly, I think it'll be more what ability regen we can get out of our threadlings. Cause if the Threadlings create a debuff, what does that debuff regen? Melee? Slap some Mele->Grenade/Rift and regen your threadlings. Grenade? Throw out more. Rift? Recast for More threadlings. And if it is grenade, reloading on a grenade usage... >:)
I think they could have gotten a lot of mileage out of just different graphics for the titan super. Just give the guy a green axe in each hand instead of yet another punch super. Hardly have to change anything and I think people would be happier. I mean it's called a berserker ffs, axes are so obvious. Instead, once again, the guardians peer into the cosmic deep to manifest a new astral fundamental element and the crayon eaters just wrap it around their fists and punch stuff....
I probably wouldn't care as much if titans were actually good at punching, anything stronger than a dreg takes multiple punches and makes you feel like a weak bitch, let me be like saint 14 and shaxx in the lore, taking out fallen Kells and huge vex with fists alone.
Hunters were literally that, Hunters, the space cowboy, the space ninja. Warlocks were the space mage, the warlock the healing caster. Their roles, their identities, are showcased with each element. Titan? We were advertised as being the warrior, the front liner, the Wall. I dont feel liek a warrior. Half our supers are the exact same roaming super concept with different colors. Our bubble is outdone bt warlock Wells, and hunter Bow super gives more than Titan Snetinel shield holding. Our “ heavy melee focused” approach does nothing in late game PvE content because evey boss has a knock back that punishes those who get too close in a game focused around ranged or gun based combat. So titans are forced to rely on big one shot supers like Dude Missile to have an impact. Strand just shows to be more of the same. I don’t feel like a warrior, my identity is that of taste the rainbow colored punch dummy. This has nothing to do with being stronger than any other class, thats not what Titans want. We just want the identity we were meant, aka the Warrior, to feel like what it should, not what we currently have.
I like the gameplan a lot, and I know that I'll enjoy it when I sink my teeth into it. I understand the design perspective of it being like, "feral", we haven't had that yet and I feel like the idea was unique enough in it's own right. That being said, every single one of the abilities presented would work just as well with; An odachi (large katana) Dual axes Duel swords Four arms Dual buckler shields A ball and chain Two balls and chain Chackram (slicy circles) I mean, I even think if they just made the claws massive fuckin tiger claws people would have received it better. In the end, I'm not mad that it's "punchy", I'm mad that we're likely only getting 1 more subclass, and unlikely to get more supers for existing ones, so we're probably only ever going to see one more weapon be used as a titan super.
Idk, I think that the gauntlet blades we got are super interesting and fit the titan great. To have any random weapon would just feel like they, well, through any random weapon at it. But having what we have, it's a new weapon, while still being recognizable and something a titan would do.
@@shivernaut8607 Behemoth could've been badass with a huge two-handed axe ngl, even if it was just a different color of Burning Maul it would have been more interesting.
I think there’s potential for the Titan class for sure, I play all 3 but as a Titan main I understand that our “identity” is punch go bonk. However I do agree that a new super that isn’t striker 3.0 (or 5.0 if you count maul and sentinel). Additionally aspect other than khepris horn would also be nice but I’m willing to give it a shot
One of the big things that would probably help with the Titan super issue is make alt supers for Stasis and Strand at some point that are either shut-down supers or ranged ones. A super version of Diamond Lance that makes a minefield of Stasis Crystals, for example. That would go a LONG way towards making Titans not feel pigeonholed
Honestly, my problem with the Titan isnt the Super, but that the Melee ability is just the same as the Supers light atacks, but weaker. The exact same as behemoth.
I'm curious to see what Mask of the Quiet One can do w/ Strand Berserker. The exotic grants 5% ability energy for every second that you take damage. When Critical HP, you heal for 70 HP after a kill. 70/200 = 35% - That will do in a pinch With Strand, severing targets reduces combatants' damage dealt, so I imagine Titans will be the ones to proc that debuff the most consistently, since Berserker is designed to be a CQC subclass. Pair that with Woven Mail and max resilience, and at the very least it's worth practicing.
Berserker is just a reskin of Behemoth in itself. I think what Titans (I'm a Titan main) are missing is their fantasy. Hunters are the scouts, the lone wolves, the assassins. That is reflected in their subclasses. Warlocks are the wizards, the scolars. That is reflected in game. Titans ingame are just "he he fist go punch, head go punch, knee go punch" instead of the often noble warriors, soldiers, protectors and knight fantasy they imo should be and often are if you look at famous Titans like Zavala, Saladin, Saint-14, etc. Yes there is Sunbreaker with his hammers which is amazing, but it still feels really similar because you just continue punching everything. Bubble is cool, I loved playing bubble but come on who uses that in raids or any content anymore since it got nerfed with well being that much better? Now with Berserker I have two pieces of darkness stuff on my fist which I use to punch stuff and my special attack is a frontal wave that stuns enemies with darkness stuff and it's another useless roaming super. Sounds familiar? Bungie has missed the Titan fantasy for a while now because they only focus on "haha Titan crayon room temperature IQ fist boom". Just let me play the fantasy. Behemoth should have had a big ass Ice Claymore or Battleaxe and Strand two swords or something and give us some damage variants. Also I think the fact that every class can use nearly any buff from a subclass nowadays is stupid. Like the Void shield should be Titan only. I don't need Devour, that's a Warlock's thing and it's cool. I wear fuckin plate armor and I want to be the tanky class. Keep your class identity, I keep mine. I feel so useless in raids as a titan nowadays and thats bad design imo. Edit: And to the people saying Titan can be built into a support class with solar and stuff I think you are missing the point. I (and many other Titans who are on the barricades about this) don't care much about how you can build it and shit. It's about the supers, class identity and fantasy (and fun, its not fun having like 5 completely useless supers most of the time). And that is a far cry from what it was set out to be. Also the argument that it's always Titans who are broken strong is shit and you know it as well as I do.
As a titan main I am both hopeful as the idea of a more complex roaming super interests me but worried as well as each subclass so far has a set identity, yet strand seems to have taken ideas from each of them such as the movement potential of arc, the armor of void, the more complex roaming super of solar, and the immobilization of stasis. Despite my apprehension I am still super hyped for what is to come in light fall and strand in particular.
Honestly I'm very excited for warlock because I absolutely love minion classes. Having a literal swarm of tiny explosive things rushing forward is gonna be great
I am a Titan main, how do I feel about Strand/Berserker? I'll stick to my Light subclasses for the forseeable future until something different comes along. Here's to Final Shape and whatever Darkness element they bring then.

The word "Drengr" isn't from the English language, so it doesn't follow the same rules when it comes to vowels.

Thx for writing that down here, I was gonna be worried I missed something.
Titan punch is way of life. We no need blade on hand we do it with fist or shoulder.

@@casted_shadows9506 exactly. Give me twin battle axes and let me go berserk. Something other than constantly punching
From what it looks like, the titan strand’s heavy attack is somewhat like hammer of sol. Who knows, it might even travel infinity far! 😄
This is the 4th punching/melee titan super, I get it titan big man take hits then hit hard but there isn’t anything else bungie can do with new titan supers?
Maybe the titan gets a massive turret/shoulder cannon to blow stuff up and send out the strand worm things
something support wise like a strand mini base that gives strand buffs
Last idea is the titan weaves a large area sending a shockwave like the barricade ones first then makes spikes area that damaged enemies in the zone like the brood wizard strike where there’s the purple void spikes
Same i just have them to save CP on. Thats about it
1300 hour Titan main here: My largest complaint about the Strand super, from what footage we've been given, is that it doesn't feel unique compared to what Hunters and Warlocks have been given with the upcoming release and what's been released in the past.
Currently I think Bungie sees Titans as Space Boxers more than Tanks
As a near 2000 hour Titan main, agreed. Hit the nail on the head.
Titans are the melee class. It is what it is. You have 3 character slots for a reason, if you want a different play style go play one of the other classes. It's that simple.
@@spex Being the melee class doesn't mean we have to suffer creatively. 😄
My biggest fear with strand titan is other than there super, from reading their aspects are they gonna be even close to void titans neutral game and team survivability cause that class does it so well.
☝️
From the Tim Clark article:
Smith says that during development it felt like a failure if Needlestorm played too much like a green version of Hunter's Blade Barrage super. "That was actually a negative feedback point we got," he says. "So [we decided] it should be about the armada of little green dudes you're making."
If the dev team was worried about a class’s Super being somewhat similar to another one, then how can they not be aware about what essentially looks to be a continuous “copy and paste” mentality for the Titans?
@@asimovstarling8806 thank you!! They're all different!!

They should made the titan berserker like Baruuks 4th ability “Serene Storm” in warframe. honestly i was hopping that maybe the titan melee would be momentum-based, like you swing towards a group of enemies and barrel through them like a wrecking ball
i think it would be so cool if the titans could use the grapple to launch themselves at an enemy and do a big shoulder charge esk attack that maybe caused the hit enemy to explode into seeking projectiles. and they could combo it with a strand warlock, if the seeking projectiles don't have a target to hit the warlock can get them like its normal strand projectiles.
@@sequoia7284Still, it doesn’t feel all that creative. But we’ll see in a few weeks.
Way less creative than the other two. In their post they had to explain warlock and hunter abilities. Titans we got “go melee stuff” again.
It would have to be stronger then just an overshield though because void titan already does that well
I really hope woven mail and sever values are good, it ultimately depends on those for strand to be viable in endgame

Titan here. Kinda upset but what else was I expecting :\ hoping that there is some damage output in this class cuz it really seems like it’s just a crowd control class
Yeah, it seems like Bungie is pushing that concept.
We're supposed to punch things and like it, because Bungie has flanderized us to the point that anything beyond punching is an afterthought. :(
I remember watching vids discussing Stasis Titan as more of a mobility class, I don’t fully buy it, but if the strand melee is comparable for lunging in a direction- but with 3 charges this time- could make some use of that.
It’d fit the beserker theme, and while I don’t raid much, If you’re doing some weird fireteam puzzle in a raid then getting temporary death immunity could come in handy somewhere I’m sure.
at least stasis titans have agers scepter to make their super energy useful
I was kinda hoping for another one-off titan super, something where when you cast, you dig your claws into the ground and create a cone in front of you that suspends and severs your targets, and then when you tear your claws out of the ground, a wave of strand crashes over the targets, dealing high damage to close targets and then lessening as it gets further away.
This is like fan fiction lol
Or what if the super was like the titan lets out a roar and sends out a lion that’s made out of strand energy that bites the enemy and explodes. It would be a burst dps super. Kind of like night wolf from mortal kombat. It fits more with their old name tyrant that bungie for some reason decided to change.
As a titan, I wasn't exitced for stasis just looking at the other two. I feel literally the exact same then as I do now. And I still never play Behemoth. I just don't want strand to be the same feeling and am really hoping I'm proven wrong. I want more fun options not less man

Watching this during Season of the Witch
And now Strand Titans are one of the most powerful Titan Subclass with tons of survivability

What class did you envision holding the gun?
I saw that most of titans talking about this said that they favorite super was the void one and is a really good example of what the titan CAN be, the super punch with a shield, yes, but also protects the entire team with ward of dawn or blocking with the sentinel shield and helps the titans look like this impenetrable wall and is reeeally cool
I really think that the new subclase should have been a support subclase, either for protecting or giving some nice buffs to the team, my favorite idea is that the titans use strand to create something like a fortress of strand, like a wall with windows to shoot throw and towers on the side like a castle, and while been in this fortress you get that new strand shield and a maybe some damage buff ( or maybe another of the strand things)
That was just my grain of sand on this and I hope that the super is more than we think although I doubt it now that we have seen the aspects
Was trying to remember which ones aren't roaming and it's just Bubble and Missile isn't it? :/
@@runcows Yup.
Everything else is roaming, with only one of those being a fully ranged roaming super.
I think I'm more annoyed that people are trying to shut down the complaints as "cry baby whining" when it's a valid complaint. I'm still going to use the subclass, just disappointed that it's another roaming punch super. Nice vid Datto
titan isnt just the punch fantasy. its the tank, the bulk, the big, the immovable object, or the unstoppable force. its can be both or either.
ideas that have merrit that arent just punching:
-radiation/radial: people get weaker the closer the get to the titan or take damage, or get proc'd with debuffs
-redirecting damage/taking fire: insentivising titans to push and take damage with the promise of being able to deal more damage the more they take themselves
-segregation: creating areas, objects or remnants that zone things off. think of a steamroller flattening a corn field at 70mph
-depth charge: exploding on death, making others explode for touching you. gaining buffs for being in the middle of an explosion, think underwater mine that you cant disarm safely so you rather avoid it
-high payload / ordinance: like said in the video, having weaponry, grenades or lasers that come at a cost, or gain from investing into them
-gravity: bigger you are, harder you fall, landing on things, terminal velocity, falling from a high place makes you land harder and deal damage.
theres more but you get my point. none of these are done or used, they all have the 'im big block of lead' written on them but dont resemble other perks other classes have entirely.
what did bungie go for?
Titan super is literally a worse version of the scythe from haunted because light attacks are not ranged
You just described the super as arc staff, said they should add a slice that comes out when attacking effectively ignoring your own comparison since arc staff does that anyway.
@@zargus2312 on the heavy attack. I meant a slice that comes out like dawn blade
@@picklerick2861 Lol
@@XAVES I agree hard with the Heir apparent idea, that would be awesome!
I know people like to say:
“It hasn’t come out yet so you can’t judge it.”
Name one Destiny subclass trailer that we all saw and didn’t get a good understanding of what it could do just by looking at the trailer.
I know the people making these classes are putting their heart and soul into them, but it’s hard to believe that no one was like:
“Ya know, maybe we should give Titans an instant super or a ranged one instead giving them another melee centric roaming super for addclear.
Datto have you seen the concept art for the strand flamethrower titans could have had, don’t believe it ever made it to development, but it would’ve been cool.
bro that looked so cool my heart broke when i saw we arent getting it
The hunter rope dart stuff looks so cool, I’m excited as a hunter main
Bungie this is the fourth time you've presented Striker...please we're tired
Stasis and strand what are the other two?
@@Aidpatient3216triker and sentinel shield maybe
@@Aidpatient3216 striker, stasis, sentinel shield essentially becomes striker once you throw the shield, and now strand.
At first I was mad about the grapple taking up your grenade but after I heard about grapple melees I am ALL IN
The funny thing is that even if it was a roaming super, it's still bad because we titans do not have a one and done lethal super (like blade barrage or nova bomb).
Damn good idea. Since they partnered with Sony, I could see the blades of chaos just being ported over
I know that the Strand Titan Super will definitely offer a more unique gameplay when roaming, but I do think they should have given them a different melee weapon or something that doesn’t resemble punching a lot of things.
I think every class in the game should have a first person, roaming ranged weapon super like Golden Gun and that they should be based on the exotics on the new character creation screen (Titans get an Auto Rifle and Warlocks get a Submachine Gun)
While I do know that the Titan subclass and super will feel distinct, Titan mains do definitely have a right to be worried about its viability because since Witch Queen launch, I think I have only seen Glacial Quake used twice during the entirety of Year 5.
Why should any Titan have faith it will be viable? Melee isn't viable NOW, and has never been.
@@CrashB111 you clearly aren't a titan main
as a titan main I'm not worried about its viability in endgame (which lets be honest it will probably suck), I'm worried that it will be samey, unoriginal and unfun to play. I think its coming from a place of jealousy of the other classes that get new and original and fun looking stuff in strand while we Titans get something that is just practically a reskin of 2 other subclass we already have. I just hope Bungie will be more original with the next subclass.
I think if Titans summoned a Sword or Claymore for Bladefury, it would definitely be more visually appealing than claws.
You have knife arms. You're fucking chainsaw man. What are guys talking about "punching guys"? You have blade arms!
Exactly how I feel but I also only use my titan as a secondary
Thank you that’s what I’m saying. It isn’t as copy paste like other people are saying it looks like it’s got its own identity as a Titan roaming super and looks a lot faster and bouncier than the other roaming supers titans have. I’m really excited for it personally.
Liking something should not be a hot take
The main issue is just that every Titan super is useless for DPS windows because of DPS loss compared to using weapons.
I don't care how good it is or how strong it is, its just super sad seeing the disappointing lack of creativity where the others get super intricate builds of my dreams.
i really appreciate the closed captions on your videos, thank you.
Can you beleive it guys, Lightfall, just some weeks away.
Idea for a better Strand Titan super: Dual Wielding Crown-Splitter (I don't have a better name lmao)
Holding the aim button charges a thrust attack that pierces through enemies, enemies that survive are inflicted the Unraveled and Severed status effect
Holding the heavy atack button charges a jump atack that slams both swords into the ground making an explosion that Suspends enemies that receive damage and launches spikes after the initial slam if completely charged
Light attack well, work as a light atack, attacks are faster each hit up to a 3 times stack
Or a Guts in the berserker armor swinging a big sword speed and momentum, and using the grapple to lunge into enemies similarly to thundercrash.
Already sounds 1000 times better the bungholes design.
I would love so so much for you to be right because that sounds wildly fun and unique
Class identity and fun are VEEERY important to our subclasses. Warlock mains have been repeating this for MONTHS. Solar is powerful, but not fun. So I GET this point- it's same-y. Punch things with green light. Hopefully there will be more to it.
Solar warlock is the single most unique subclass in destiny 2, and literally the best subclass in destiny history......

Datto is just confused again. The armor charge thing just replaces current super costs of mods like special finisher etc.
You are correct. Subclass based finisher bonuses are as free as slotting the fragment is. (E.g. amplified finisher, Invis finisher)
The other ones that are generic and restore specific basic abilities or generate special ammo are getting Armor Charge costs instead of super energy costs.
What has me unsatisfied with green fist of Havoc is that in the early previews, we had a One-Off Beyblade spin of death. Whether if that is going to be implemented at a later date or scrapped, we will have to see.
That would have been super cool and I would have loved that.
Everyone else: Wondering about the abilities and gameplay
Me: Wondering what it will look like on solstice armor
@@meateaw I definitely feel like there’s going to be an aspect that changes threadling behavior in the coming seasons after lightfall
I like the punchy fantasy, I just want a titan class to actually be good at it without feeling sub optimal or gimmicky.
I like the gameplan a lot, and I know that I'll enjoy it when I sink my teeth into it. I understand the design perspective of it being like, "feral", we haven't had that yet and I feel like the idea was unique enough in it's own right. That being said, every single one of the abilities presented would work just as well with;
An odachi (large katana)
Dual axes
Duel swords
Four arms
Dual buckler shields
A ball and chain
Two balls and chain

I mean, I even think if they just made the claws massive fuckin tiger claws people would have received it better.
But having what we have, it's a new weapon, while still being recognizable and something a titan would do.
behemoth should've gotten claws imo. or like clawed/spiked tonfas. idk how they are serving nuggets this dry.
@@626lancer we've had a shield, hammer, BIG hammer. Don't think a weapon is farfetched
@@shivernaut8607 Behemoth could've been badass with a huge two-handed axe ngl, even if it was just a different color of Burning Maul it would have been more interesting.
The dual aces and four arms is a cool idea.
I agree, we need multiple supers for stasis and strand
I'm curious to see what Mask of the Quiet One can do w/ Strand Berserker. The exotic grants 5% ability energy for every second that you take damage. When Critical HP, you heal for 70 HP after a kill. 70/200 = 35% - That will do in a pinch
With Strand, severing targets reduces combatants' damage dealt, so I imagine Titans will be the ones to proc that debuff the most consistently, since Berserker is designed to be a CQC subclass.
Here's to Final Shape and whatever Darkness element they bring then.
personally I love the look of the titan super. its way more unique than behemoth for all the people calling it striker 3.0
A better roaming super for Titan would’ve been to have a big spiked ball on a chain etc that you could swing around in different ways
