Part of me really hopes we get more Dread variants, like perhaps boss variants with similar abilities, like a knight husk, or a giant Grimm. Stuff that would be perfect for Strikes or Seasonal Activities
I hoped for the same thing. Second thought: Do you think Anteus Wards could reflect the suspension shots that subjugators shoot?
Bruh when I first saw the Grim with my team I was praying there’d be a giant grim boss lol.
We need more bosses like Rhulk and Nezarec. Especially with Bungie trying to get rid of the place a well and stand still to dps the boss style of gameplay.
Mobile bosses where we aren't all standing still are great, although it didn't really pan out that way with Nezarec the intention was there.
Hope that Yirix will lead the Darkness army now.
Looking at the Dread and how they're reshaped from other factions like the Attendants for Cabal and the Husks for the Hive, it'd be amazing to see stronger versions of those enemies show up slowly through the episodes! Even some Vex could be intertwined in it, but now with the new Vex Faction, I'm sure we won't get any.
i like how subjugators bow and introduce themselves when they spawn in
Kind of reminiscent of how Rhulk invites you to his arena
@@NotReal-187 yup
The Dread were a nice addition to the game. One thing I kinda hoped The Witness did, since it was kidnapping humans, that we would have come across them being mass produced like the Shadow Legion were, and become Darkness Guardians, able to harness stolen light.
Doesn’t take away from the Dread though and the fact that it was a really great campaign, it would just give further meaning to what happened in Season of Defiance.
Yeah. I was kinda hoping that we'd see Human Dread as a callback to the Shadow Legion abducting civilians in Defiance. Having to fight all the poor saps who DIDN'T get rescued would be a real gut punch that reminds us that we actually LOST in Lightfall and had to get back on our feet before we could take on the Witness.
I think it's be retconned eventually that the "Worm Gods" were some of the original Dread. If the worms originally look like Asha, then the Worms are most likely the Finalized version of them. The worm gods also have glowing yellow eyes without pupils like the rest of the Dread faction
From what we know, the process of creating Dread is similar to the process of creating Scorn, Taken, and Shadow Legion Cabal. It's a process that's best described as an act of sharpening, whittling away excess until you are honed into a weapon of the Darkness. You become a shell of your former self that's been rendered "final."
While I don't think they're ACTUALLY Dread, it's all but certain that the Leviathans of Fundament had undergone a similar process. With the power of Darkness, Rhulk "finalized" these Leviathans into the Worm Gods.
was it not already confirmed that worm gods came from the leviathan species that ahsa is a part of? or that they had a common ancestor and then split into a darkness/deep faction and a light/sky faction? I remember ahsa saying something about increased evolution survival of the fittest situation happening in the harsh environment of the fundament and part of the species turning to the deep/darkness in order to survive.
Considering their suppressive abilities, I honestly think the grim might be those “light-suppressing creatures” that the Drifter talked about a long time ago in some lore book on that distant planet. The witness probably found them and saw this ability as something of great value that it could definitely use in its own army
“Most of them appear to be female”
Brother you just unleashed the r34 demons with that line
That was gonna happen anyway.
@@cosmicsloth5002 true
Is there a guardian walking around pulling up skirts? How does he know this lmao
Subjulgatrix is real.
@@xKapnKrunchwell in french the word subjugators has feminin version and all the subjugators I saw so far were indeed female
Give me more baby Rhulks. I will never deny the best fight in the series casually getting thrown at me over and over.
I would love to have a large Grimm boss. Flying around and shirking at us.
The husks might actually be scorn, based on lore for VOTD and pantheon. If you recall, Rhulk was experimenting with scorn and giving them worms, and pantheon goes into further details on this lore.
The voice change you made for reciting The Witnesses lines was a good touch!
Omg first! I’m obsessed with the dread. Favorite enemy easily. Also, I want to see more disciples of the witness especially one for the Grim.
What's great about the Dread is each one seems to be vunrable to specific tactics
For example?!
I would like to adapte to it
At 0:34 the witness looks like he’s about to welcome us to chiles or take a nice picture on a side walk
Bungie are really good at developing content, not finishing it and then using it later. The Halo 3 mission Cortana is actually a previously cut Covenant ship mission that took place after Floodgate. Io in D2 is just a second Mars zone from D1 recolored.
I wouldn't be shocked if the Subjugators were initially the only enemies planned for the Final Shape.
Definitely is the case, because only the Subjugators were mentioned at the inicial FInal Shape reveals and no mention of the Dread at that point. Likely after the delays that Bungie decided to introduce the Dread, just like with Prismatic.
Ok but why do they have bullets that track around corners
Like who gave them d1 truth levels of tracking
You mean darkness buddies
@@lazyvoid7107 yeah and here I am all hype about having 10 different buddies now with prismatic while the enemies stealing my whole flow word for word bar for bar
Magic bullets
They get faster and more accurate if they miss more
And the best thing about this is nezarec is really more likely to return in all his former glory before being killed by savvy
When will we be able to translate dread
I know right? I really want to know what they’re saying but I’m not smart enough to figure it out myself.
Magic the gathering had a faction that also had its own language, written and spoken. Linguists ended up figuring it out after a year or something so I would assume it would take the same amount of time unless they just make a website where we can translate it or something
I do NOT want to know the slurs those angry subjugators call me. They sound so intense lol
@@Kuhmodo I want to be able to call people slurs in dread
@@KuhmodoI wonder if their like skirmishers, you know jackals but racist
Thank you for more lore I still have a lot to learn from you
As for when we could see more dread maybe episode 3 makes sense as 1 is vex themed, 2 is scorn/fallen, but 3 is hive so maybe some of the dread went under Xivu control and some have been altered
my first thought when i saw a Husk was that it was a fallen marauder
I doubt it’ll happen, but I want more converted races, like the reaper enemies from ME:3. Imagine a reshaped human, or a hive and an eliksni spliced together. Real freaky shit.
I felt like the entire time the dread were missing a unit or two. Like they are awesome don’t get me wrong. But I feel like they needed like 1 more to be whole
They need a tank, a dread version of an ogre.
@@jjwebster1maybe a dread cabal
@@salgoragarus5854 Calus, colossus and gladiator fighting style would be perfect for a tank dread.
They're collectors, like from mass effect, changed from Protheans, by the Reapers
i hope we get dread based on cabal and fallen
I still wanna know how we can decipher the Dread's language so i can learn it and speak it.
The "husks" look like a mix of fallen more specificly sworded vandals that could be from house salvation and the geist reminds me of the suicidal vex, the vandals were made to be the shell and the vex were reshaped to be the geist to control the shell as vex radiolaria would normally.
The husks have a similar stance as the bladed vandals
I want palyable fallen or lucent hive.
I was thinking about this the other day, watching Byf's video about Luzaku
3:50 idk I thought that more so sounded like the traveler bird from our visions
Wait until the champion variants come out....... I wanna see an Overload Grim that can pounce on you if it gets close.
What would have happened if the Witness will have managed to corrupt some guardians or normal humans ? What change it will made them just to know what could tick this new chosen species ?
Gambit and dread ohhh i can t wait
Evaze I actually thought the husk was a scorn that had been implanted with a hive worm
I’d like to see what the original species that the Grimm was reshaped from was. To see how malicious the Witness was in transforming it
8:10 I could have sworn that they said in one of the intro videos that the way to decode the Dread's language is to have one of two glaives equipped, _Nezarec's Whisper_ (naturally!🙃) or-and I don't recall the second one with 100% certainty, but looking at the list, I assume it's _Forthcoming Deviance?_
Unfortunately, I have neither, so I can't confirm or disprove this...surely someone reading this can give it a shot?
my theory about husk is that they were qugu who survived the hive but found the witness, who turned them into a husk, and their jaw beast into a geist
Three of the Lights that came out of the Traveler should be the revived Disciples of the Witness. Rhulk should become the Leader of the Dread.
Those damn psyon things yanked my ass off the maps multiple times in the threshold, needless to say the rage was real
I hope we get more flying enemies in the future what we got is a good start
I thought this was talking about what the witness was doing to the traveller no?
Can we get a Tormentor armor set for Titans.
A brood weaver set for Hunters.
And The Witness set for warlocks?
Please bungie.
Literally The Covenant
Why did the Witness never Take a Vex Disciple?
Theyve been designing the dread dread for how long?!
When they first showed off the dread my brain Immediately pictured the 5 concept art of the enemies Fallen cabal vex hive and a mysterious Yellow One Today that picture can either be interpreted as the taken because they have a bit of a smoky effect or some I think said the witness but at that time the witness did not yet exist at least in the story and the world so it was most likely the concert for the taken but when they first showed off the dread my brain was like yes this is the fifth enemy faction from the concept art they're finally in the game! obviously my brain was A little dumb but I was in a rush with that showcase still happy that we've got a new race and even though they're a little easy but at least it's something new don't know how they're gonna work for any new content as was for the story since their creator is dead and they're basically the taken no Leader than just wandering around the destroying shit because why not still will see I hope they will not be forgotten in A year or 2
Wikipedia after the Witness dies: *Was*
Finally we've gotten the fourth race. And they're so much more eldritch and horrifying in nature than any other.
4?
Well I mean there's cabal, taken, eliksni and hive and dread and vex and scorn
@@tirefish vex was one of the four og races
So the dread are the 8th enemy faction or 6th if you don't count the scorn since their just zombie eliksni and the taken which are just other enemies with unique (annoying) abilities like teleportation
@@tirefish 7th*
I have to say, I think D3 NEEDS to introduce new species.
Honestly really disappointed this is the first unique race introduced since taken king snd theres four unique enemies in tthe race
There's six?

Bungie really cooked with the new enemies 🔥🔥🔥
I love fighting the Dread. Definitely up there with the Scorn and Taken for me. They're just so fun to shoot! I'd love to see Taken variants of them personally. Could you imagine Taken Dread or Taken Scorn!? It'd be nuts!
Imho the dread are very underwhelming and not very difficult. I still find tormentors the strongest/most difficult/tedious to work on.
That said they're still very cool. In game, they seem to supplement other factions, scorn taken vex etc. really was hoping for a strike with just an abundance of dread absolutely ruining guardians.
The ones that shoot strand and stasis are pretty dangerous where mechanics are needed (last boss of edge when the strand guys can pull into or out of resonance pools, or last boss of campaign where you can get suspended then nuked by witness attack) area denial from range is scary.
More elitist drivel. It’s more likely you’re struggling and want people to believe you’re better than you are. Truly strong players wouldn’t feel the need to comment as you have. But good luck with all that you got going on there! 😂✌️
Bro didn't fight those contest attendants and it's showing
