- Destiny 2 Forsaken finds us burying our beloved friend Cayde-6 at the beginning of the campaign and re-introducing important characters like Petra Venj and the Queen of the Reef. Forsaken is regarded as one of the best campaigns in the Destiny franchise and has impacts for the entire future of the game. Teases that began in Season 4 look to be paying of in Beyond Light and further into the future. This collection was made possible by the efforts of other lore collectors in the Destiny community including Hurley Effect and The Phoenix who allowed me to use their footage for this collection. A profound thank you goes out to them for making this possible.

A note on subtitles: This (mostly) has them captured as off except during adventures. Because there's not a specific person talking to you I always turn them off in those segments. The intro quest was one of the first I played as a New Light. I didn't know Cayde at all but I still felt hurt when he was shot
EDIT: 19:17 oh yeah this whole sequence was kinda absurd because in my POV, I know nothing about anything that's going on. And I (we) say that we'll kill Uldren??? 😂
I loved that the Guardian finally spoke, because they spoke in the first game. They spoke to everyone, including their Ghost, I missed it. I also have played as a hunter throughout the two games and when they killed Cayed I was devastated. He was my vanguard ♡
If nothing else, you could lore it as a New Light willing to prove themself, considering Uldren may not've stopped with Cayde.
I didn’t have the opportunity to do the Ace of Spades exotic quest, so hearing those voice recordings got me
I'm so thankful to Destin for putting all these bids up. I got D2 on release, but I had seriouse moneterie problems back then and couldn't afford to keep my ps+ subscription. It pissed me off that I couldn't play destiny without one back then, so I hung up my light and cursed the game.
Fast forward 6 years(I think), and I'm in a far better position and lucky for me I have a high spec pc and fanatic internet cababilities and epic had it there for fee and I was like, why not try it again.
Immediately I fell in love with the game and was dyeing to play the full game from red war too season of the seraph, then I noticed that I couldn't. I am still loving the content and bought the delux version and all the games that are available.
Long story short, I would never have been able to see the full story without this channel, and for that I'm extremely great full. Thanx Destin, you are awsome 👍👍👍
Man, I can see why Cade has been so lovable and why it hurt the community when he passed away: the guy was written like a guy who hasn’t lost that childlike sense of wonder, fun and recklessness and all the good and bad that come from them.
The writers did an awesome job crafting this character and the VA really brought him to life; it’s no wonder Cayde basically became the face and mascot for the franchise.

That was impressive. The editing & production had to be insanely difficult. I hadn't realized how much I missed in the forsaken expansion. I had to watch in parts but I watched all of it. Subbed & liked of course.

at 52:27 where uldren shoots ace at the rock thing, I believe he only shot 11 bullets. This is either an easter egg to D1 where ace had only 11 bullets in the mag, or they were just indecisive and gave the weapon we get 13 bullets
This was the season I stopped playing. My favorite character of the series. Gone. I was so heartbroken. I didn't come back til this current season. Everytime I hear him in the exodus strike, him saying, are you ok? I'm just like, yes, but I still miss you
I'm sorry the death of Cayde 6 got everyone so heartbroken and traumatized the fact that Cayde died if the player AKA the characters that we made could've been there a little faster then none of this could've happened still sorry that your favorite character was dead 😔😢

I still flinch when Ace is fired by Uldren. Every goddamn time. Even when i know it's coming.

I hate that the in game story doesn't show Guardian's interacting with their ghosts. In the lore tabs and books you see them talking to their ghosts all the time.
It was laid out for us that crow would be a thing. Each time fake Mara has spoken she gave it away " bravery, devotion, sacrifice and then death "
Thanks for doing all this Destin. I never finished the Forsaken campaign, and now it's gone. It really bums me out that Bungie are just removing all these big parts of the game that we paid for.

@@davida1229 to be fair so did I. Thought it’d be there next time I got the itch to play D2. I enjoyed the Red War, Warmind, and Curse of Osiris storylines and then put D2 down for a while even though i bought everything up to Shadowkeep at the time. By the time I came back… forsaken was gone. I wisened up on my return and have caught up to Witch Queen.
@@flamefangahs Bungie was very open with Forsaken going away before Witch Queen. Although I understand that if you're out of the Destiny loop, the news may not have reached you. I agree it sucks that they removed old things. I miss the Red War campaign even though it wasn't all THAT good.

I'd love that. But in his lore, he told them he didn't want to be rebooted after the sixth time. He thought the number seven was unlucky.

@NotSeren they did say his character is done and they weren't going to make a Cayde 7. With that said, I think we will finally go into what those labs made and even where to find them. Cayden could come back in the form of audio logs
So about that Cayde thing......
Too bad Cayde didn't know to either try to eliminate the sniper first or not pull out his ghost while surrounded by enemies especially if he didn't know about the sniper 🤷♀️
Cayde’s ghost was named sundance. She was just like him, flashy and cocky.
1) Cayde was not the one who wanted sundance to come out, she was convinced she could heal him in a safe way. turns out that didn’t go oh so well..
2) One of the reasons his ghost managed to die was from the bullet that shot her. It’s a bullet from a weapon of sorrow and those are some powerful guns. A normal handful of bullets couldn’t kill a ghost, just such poisoned filled shots like that can. Besides, even if the rifleman didn’t shoot sundance and just shot Cayde, as of what I have seen, he would have died anyway as it’s so powerful it can pierce through one’s light. They just wanted to make his death slow and painful. (Also they coulda killed his ghost before he was rezzed from under the rubble from falling all those floors)...
3) the one that gave Pirrha, The Rifleman that bullet was non other than Variks... as of the dialogue heard on europa, he took part in Cayde’s murder and was the one who made his death possible... also he was the one to unlock the important cells that stored Uldren and his barons!! He even helped Fikrul, The Fanatic get enough ether to be able to revive fallen into scorn (I think)... without Variks, none of that would have ever happened, which means Cayde would be here and crow wouldn’t be a thing.. both good things :)
So in result, he didn’t purposely pull out his ghost without knowledge that sundance would end up dying..
and that it’s all Variks’ fault :(
I wish he could return but there isn’t any possible way...
unless somehow, just somehow bungie pulled an uno reverse card 👀
@@s5umm3rr most of that might've been true but are you forgetting the part where Cayde said "get me out of here little buddy". So that leads me to believe that he had her out not just to heal him but to help him to escape the situation he was in 🤔
PS the one who actually gave the bullet according to lore though I forget which book was the drifter not variks. However, even though variks wasn't the one that gave the bullet he was still partly to blame for what happened cause he freed the prisoners then abandoned his post to follow eramis and we both know how that turned out
@@djrosette I had slight suspicion it was drifter but didn’t think it was him anymore.. also he says “help me out here little buddy” so he may have been the one to get sundance out, nobody truly knows. Then of course, Variks played quite a large part in his murder..
@@s5umm3rr your suspicion about drifter giving the bullet was right and yep variks did play a big part. Though, I think if drifter didn't give the bullet, Cayde and Sundance would still be alive regardless of if variks freed the prisoners then abandoned his post or not. However, seeing as how I never trusted the drifter in the first place, drifter who is always trying to make a buck might've found some other way to help eliminate Cayde should he had changed his mind and not sold the bullet to the scorn like he originally did 🤔

for those who do not know we died by falling. I've always wondered how we ended up sprawled half way in/on that car. with armor and kit on but no weapons. were we thrown and somehow ended up in the car? was the car thrown with us in it? did the ground cave with us on it, yet were on an area that did not fall?
so meny questions about our deaths. we don't even know what year. my theory has always been during Rasputin's last stand during the collapse but who actually knows. its also not like we were no slouch se we definitely didn't go down running if a fight was taking place, yet it looks like we were. so what made us fall.

I started playing in May 2021 during BL, but Forsaken was easily my favorite campaign. Didn't play D1 and only understood why people loved Cayde so much after watching the gameplay movie for the game by Gamer's Little Playground, and now your D2 playlist, @Destin. Needless to say after watching through the campaign, even though Mara Sov is still my #1, Cayde is definitely up there with the likes of Zavala. What a character.

If it’s so easy to kill a ghost, you just have to kill a guardian once then kill the ghost that appears, and end of the vanguards.
Can’t remember how Uldren got it, but it was a paracausal bullet, regular bullets wouldn’t work.
there is 2 ways to kill a ghost fully
1: something paracasul
2: absolute overwhelming firepower.
Ghosts are actually not easy to kill at all. The reason hive are good at killing guardians is because they also have pasacausal hive magic. They also mention Uldren got the bullets specifically for a lightbearer.
At 1:19:19 it says Cayde 0-5 and this was the end of 6. so Cayde 7 might comeback in the future?
