And simultaneously, that he lost out on the opportunity to learn more from the man that this demon hollowed for his own personal greed and desire. So…boredom, and frustration?

The idea is that we know Lloyd is powerful enough to defeat basically anything. The fun is watching him figure out how he needs to apply what he has in order to accomplish it and wondering whether something will happen to change the situation while he's still figuring it out.
