- With a black ops 2 remaster coming in 2025 and black ops 2 almost 13 years old, I figured it was time to look back at what made this game so amazing.

@@Csep1579 Every gun was fun and great to use. Even though the AN-94, Scar-H and DSR 50 dominate the meta (at least on Plutonium) Black Ops 2 will forever be fun. Every gun was usable and fun to play with, there wasn’t a single boring gun in my opinion
When this was in its prime, everyone was online playing it. EVERYONE. Trick shots, clans, RUclips gameplays, faze, optic, cod champs, all of this blew up during this game. COD became a household name through this game.

No. MW2/BO1/MW3 made cod a household name.
Cod was big before, mw1 was already popular, mw2 made it blow up to be one of the biggest players on the market.
But bo2 was the best and maybe the peak of popularity of cod

Truly the greatest overall CoD of all time. Multiplayer was god tier, Zombies was excellent and the campaign was also excellent.
Bo2 was alive and active for years and years they couldn't top it and still can't. One of the greatest games ever.
zombies is better in black ops 3 in my opinion but everything else in bo2 is better and still had a lot of fun with zombies in 2 but i still prefer 3s mechanics

We need a BO2 remaster that smooths out the loading screens, story continuity, choppy cutscenes. The only thing that held it back was releasing on the previous gen. This game was ICONIC, but would shine so bright in a remaster

When school finished I’d speed walk home everyday just to get home and play BO2. Even though I hated High School I had the best time playing BO2 and GTA V with my school/online friends during that time period. Now games aren’t even fun and feel like a chore.

@@JustBlight_I played plutonium during the last 3 months of 2023. US East, never had an issue finding lobbies and never ran into cheaters. There was always at least 200+ players online at all times for me

have y’all heard about that random update Treyarch dropped a couple days ago? they fixed the custom emblem editor, the theater mode and apparently some security issues. i found a clean game almost instantly and had a lot of fun

I still can’t figure out the lack of backwards compatibility for ps. I had a 360 first, decided I wanted to try ps so I got a ps4 and realized after buying it that I couldn’t play my favorite games anymore so I sold it. Xbox one S then Xbox series x since then lol

That will never happen. The amount of cheaters will piss you off and force you to rage quit. Trolling noobs, maybe if you use VPN or 2 box but with EOMM, doesnt happen often. Best of all, Trash talk? Most have their voice chat off. And if you did try to talk shit, you get temp banned. Dont call someone gay. It will never be the same!
Last night I had a dream about sequel of Black Ops 2. There was like Pick 10 system, Season Pass, Weapon Camos, and no Netflix menu style like in MWII and III. The only thing they also added a battle royale was Blackout from BO4. It was the best dream I ever had

My opinion on bo2 is as well that it’s the best cod. In every way but one of my personal favorite things bo2 did/had that modern day cods don’t is the creativity. I remember when the loading screen was you controlling a character in a room with monitors and on the monitor was the game modes (campaign, multiplayer, and zombies). And then once you hit “zombies”, instead of scrolling through map titles on a dropdown menu (basic asl), in bo2 you would spin the globe that was visibly in shambles and infected, and yo destination on the globe was the map you’d spawn in and it was like really planning a zombies expedition, it was way more immersive and cool (just a side note cuz I’m also an assassins creed fan and am in that community too, that proves that you don’t need rpg elements to feel immersive, all it takes is a well developed game and a lil imagination to be immersed) but that’s one of my personal fav things bout bo2 that I miss. The creativity, the care, the passion.

2007-2012 was the golden age of gaming especially for cod. Nowadays cod is plagued with influence from fortnite it’s literally a joke
I was in middle school when this game released and I remember shooting "Melendez" in the nuts and as a result mason was alive at the end of my game. No one in my school believed me because they all got the ending where mason dies.
Black Ops 2 was the ONLY Cod I’ve played and truly enjoyed every part of it. Even thought it came out in 2012, I never stopped playing it, even still to this day. Well, it’s hard to play now bc of the modded lobbies.
It was just a masterpiece, easy for anyone to play. The lobbies for the most part always had a decent matchmaking system (it seemed like my team always had noobs) but it wasn’t carnage. I love the OG movement, simple create-a-class design, sick score streaks, challenges, camos, this game had it all.
So many great memories and matches. BO2 remains the best example of COD.
Yeah its been 11 years since black ops 2 came out and I had so much fun playing split screen local multiplayer with my brothers, uncle, and my father. And the best part about LAN party and local multiplayer is adding Ai bots with the selection of difficulties like Recruit, Regular, Hardened, and Veteran and local multiplayer can be played for a training exercise for players to play online. And Black ops 2 was the first cod games to have 4 player split screen zombies which is so much fun having 4 people sitting on the couch playing zombies. And finally bo2 is the first cod game to have only 1 season pass that cost $50 which is expensive but however if the season pass is on sale, the prices decreased by 70% which makes it $15 which is cheaper and worth buying with all the DLC maps for both multiplayer and zombies and as well as the first DLC weapon the peacekeeper.
Ahh man, I'm 24 and this really takes me back to middle school and high school. It was such a crazy and fun time. The simple times of coming home from school, playing BO2 till 5 AM with my friends. BO2 as the latest COD at the time and in its prime was something magical. The game was so good I literally could not play any of the COD's after that, and continued playing till like 2018. Gonna have to pull out my PS3 to play it again

The thing with bo2 multiplayer was that it was just so simple. The menu and such were very easy and simple to use/find things on. I love this game
Unfortunately nowadays they're so Multiplayer obsessed that it's difficult to find a decent game with a great solid Single player campaign. The gaming industry have lost a hell of a lot of people/buyers now.

I remember ditching primaries and sticking to the pistols when I played this game during its prime. The Tac 45, B23R, and Kap 40 were all amazing, and the new-at-the-time Pick 10 system allowed me to see their best potential.
People complain about Riot Shielders nowadays but the amount of hate ive received for the Akiimbo Tac 45 Riot Shield combo in SnD, it was certainly something for me to have remembered it now.
Can't say BO2 is my fave though, MW '19 for Multiplayer and Infinite Warfare for its Campaign + Zombies, but BO2 was a great game and my first COD where I bought it launch day. Its praises are well deserved.

god that msuic you played in the beggining. the music that played when you have to get woods back to the cho0pper on mission 1 part 2. i would sit and fight and blow up the truck and for hours listening to that sound track. thankyou for unlocking a forgotten memory
Bo2 literally changed my gaming experience forever. Best cod game ive ever played. Grew up with it. Still play it today
One of my favorite memories I still have saved in my BO2 theater mode was during a match of gun game on Yemen, I watched someone vanish before my eyes and was like "wtf? Where'd they go?" And went up exactly where they went and turns out they fell off the map and then so did I 😂
BO2 was my first COD. I have a small group of friend that I played with then and still play with now. While it will never truly be the same, it comes damn close
Bo2 was the first campaign to actually have camos for a mission or ee you complete, and there's even a create a class system also and it had Bonus missions thst were not there untill MW19 and 22

I remember dropping into campaign first with my older cousin. then when i got home grinded multiplayer with my online buddy during the daytime, then when it was time to go to sleep for school we would hop on zombies 🔥
game has so many memories, spawn trapping on 24/7 nuketown demolition with school mates, all of us getting to master prestiege for the first time then resetting our accounts and having a race to master prestiege again, diamond camo grinding on all weapons. no game today compares to that enjoyment
I remember getting black ops 2 for Christmas that year. That really ended up being my game of the year I never put so many hours into a game. Each mode was done perfectly. And it made me excited for the future of call of duty. Unfortunately I didn’t realize that black ops 2 was going to be the peak of the franchise.

Multiple Endings is what missing on games today that had a potential, like Marvel's Spider-Man 2, which I think deserves multiple endings based on what the player is doing. A game similar to this was GTA IV.
Can't wait for Black Ops Gulf War (2024) and also Black Ops 2 Direct Sequel in 2025

Everything about bo2 is prefection one thing I really like is that when creating your loadout and selecting things for it is that its super clean and simple and easy to use and understand for those who don't know how to read and understand English at the time

Personally Black Ops and Black Ops 2 will forever be the greatest time to be a gamer. Getting those secret defuses and ballistic knives/tomahawk kills from across the map. I still remember playing a particular match while watching a youtube video about if Henry Cavill will be a good Superman. How time flies.

I loved bo2 when it came out. I played a lot of modern warfare before the release of bo2 so mw2 was my favourite cod. But the great campaign and multiplayer as well as being a huge zombies fan always brings me back to bo2. These days I enjoy bo2 a lot more then modern warfare games. I think out of all the older cods, bo2 aged the best
I got black ops 2 the day it came out and beat the Campaign first in 2 days then moved on to multiplayer and zombies with my friends best week ever and loved every second of it of that game.
it is the first cod i played, AND the first GAME i played. And i will forever love it. And i will forever be grateful playing this splitscreen with my friends.

mob of the dead was one of my most played zombies maps of all time, it was so fun to build the trample steam before even turning the power on and getting a perk without shooting a bullet during monkey round

when black ops 2 came out, wow, it was almost as if everyone in the entire school system even adults had this game and played, I made so much friends I still have in real life through this game, and I'm sure thousands of other people had the same experience.................you had to be there to experience it what great memories, great guns, great maps, great zombies
They were all well rounded games with amazing gameplay from the campaign, multiplayer, and zombies

i played this game for 2 years cause i didn’t like ghosts. it felt fresh and exciting every time i played and i like how you had different grinds in multiplayer. get all the SMGs gold to unlock diamond camo, unlock diamond for all guns to get a true mastery camo. this game was truly ahead of its time and still stands as a good game today. if they decided to remaster this game, i’m sure it would be a best seller in the entire series

even the ads were amazing, I remember watching them, at the time I was into vfx so I was quite impressed by the quality they were made with.

I was never a fps fan, but me and the boys and I played the shit outta zombies
So many memories on this game. I miss these times. Its slightly off script, but even the mods were good. As a sniper, for over 10 years now, it was perfect. For feeding or trickshotting, the sniping community was thriving. Zombie lovers, competitive MLG lovers, pub stompers, everyone was having a good time.
Standoff is one of my favorite cod maps ever! Express is also a sick search and destroy map

I loved the SPM (score per minute) feature in the lobby leaderboard too. So you had other metrics to judge a player other than just KD
