hey everyone, old video but figured id put in a word. i have a 2005 Honda civic manual. i have killed 2 ecus and couldn't figure out what problem was. i come to realize that after changing my belts i love the ground on my alternator from moving so the couldn't get the contact on the around again so it kept frying my ecu. i wired a new ground to where the motor is grounded on the rad support. now i have everything grounded. picked up a new ecu, not looking to program the ecu as it cost some coin. so i am going back to buddy that is parting his and pulling ignition and grabbing the keys. ( figured that's the cheaper way after watching this video. hope it helps. scanner was also not reading ecu, temp wasn't working. rmp. couldn't go over 4k, running rich and burned threw two o2s. this is the first time dealing with this problem as i owned multiple Hondas of different years. cheers!
If your fellow ricers need an ECM set, hit me up. I try to stock all the different variations of 01-05 Civic ECM with immo box and NEW key(s), all programmed to match. This saves having to fuck around with those goddamned shear bolts! Cheers.

@@lopezjavier3815 Hi. I found several sets for manual trans, but if you have an automatic, I'll look again tomorrow and hopefully pull a rabbit out of my...er, hat. Please also tell me which style of key you have, edge-cut (bumpy edge) or "high security" (smooth edge)...2003 is a split year.

How do they do this if you don’t mind explaining? I’m in a position where I think I need a new ecm, and I’m trying to get by without going to the Honda dealership.
Is the ecm tied to the knock sensors? I have a check engine light and its my knock senor I bought 3 and still. I bought a ecm idk if I have to program it it starts and runs but the code still reads knock sensor
10mm socket and about a foot of extension, ideally on an impact, but a ratchet is OK too. Oh, I think maybe you need an 8mm for something...it's been a few years. Anyway, don't freak out. If you've done it right, it should come out like butter...after you hit the butter with a blowtorch.

You just need a good scan tool and go into the security functions. You can get a used ecm to start the car without changing the transponder

sounds expensive and complicated for someone with no scan tool and has not done it before...just get ignition and ecm together
No need to replace the ignition,key or immo just a lock smith or a mechanic with a launch scantool will do it

I replaced my stereo with aftermarket one in the ecm blow out in dash lights stop working
It is your tdc sensor
