    That's a pretty clean engine bay for a then 18 year old car. Pretty unique issue you have here. Previously, my issue was the connector from the ac compressor to the wiring around the front grill would get loose. Eventually I just wire tapped them together without the connector. I just had my compressor clutch wear out, which got me suggested this video. I just removed the clutch shim, and it appears to be working now, but it hasn't been hot enough to really test it. I also had to replace the low side line cuz it got cracked after 20 years. Hopefully I never have this problem cuz I had opening stuff like that center console.

    First of all, i wana thank mr Tom Sornpanya for this video which pointed me in the right direction, my 2001 civic had all the symptoms that he describes throughout this video and instead of jumping the ground cable from the ac button to the pressure switch, i went to a local wrecking yard and scored a fuse box from a 2005 honda civic with the same options as mine, this is the fuse box thats located under the dash to the right of the steering column, I swapped it out and everything started working. Ac, power locks, key chime, wipers intermittent, brake light on cluster was always on and it went off with the “new” fuse box. Now im not saying that this could be everyone’s culprit for their ac not working, but if you’re also experiencing the other symptoms it could all be related to that fuse box. Very grateful for this video, i hope my comment and experience helps others with the same issues i was having. Good luck y’all. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

      2001 Honda Civic LX Couple - I have the exact issues you described. Intermittent wiper not working, ac compressor not engaging even though dash light comes on, no more door chime, power locks stopped working, cluster brake light is on, fan only runs when engine is hot. Anybody have a part number or affordable source (not stealer ship) for the fuse box in case I cannot find one at the junk yard?

    • @vsixxshooter
      @vsixxshooter 2 года назад +1

      @@BITEBOC the symptoms on my car were, power locks not working, intermittent wipers not working, ac clutch not engaging even though the ac llight would turn on, parking brake light “On” on dashboard would never turn off even when fully released,all the fuses were ok so that makes it harder to diagnose the issue, after watching this video i went to the local junkyard and found a 2005 civic with the same options as mine, paid $25 for the complete fuse panel thats located on the right side of the steering column , swapped it in less than 15 minutes and everything started working they way it should be. Its kinda tricky to swap it out especially if you’re kinda big so i pulled the driver seat out to make extra room to lay on the floor. Good luck

      @@Mike_Muffler I had the same issue when using the A/C button to provide a ground to turn on the compressor. It has to do with the green light on the A/C button dimming when you turn on the headlights, whatever method is used to dim that green light interrupts the ground slightly, which causes the compressor to stop running. The fans will continue to run, but at a very slow speed.. It's a trip. I found another wire that gets a solid ground with the a/c button engaged. I got totally side tracked and ended up moving.. the last year has been crazy for me, but I'm going to make a video in the next couple days to show how I did it in hopes it'll help some people stay cool this summer. Thanks to @Tom Sornpanya for the idea to get this going.

      I found an alternate wire that gives you a perfect ground when the A/C button is pressed and the headlights do not affect it. I've been using it for about 2 weeks and it works great. I took the whole unit out and checked every wire with my power probe until I found the right one. I didn't note which wire it was because I honestly thought nobody would read my comment. But I can check it and let you know, or if you just probe all the wires from the HVAC unit you will find the one that gives a perfect ground from the AC button.

      @@spicythai2000 Hey when I get home from work tonight, I'll check mine and let you which wire worked perfectly. It was just as easy, just tap into it and the ground is not changed by the headlights. The original wire must have a resister built into it or something in order to dim the light with the headlights, so that interrupts the ground and causes the AC and fan relays to constantly click but not fully energize.
