    Thats what people like.Power noise and aircraft action.No music!
    This is how these type of aircraft should be filmed.
    Thanks for the video.

    I was assigned to RAF Lakenheath in late 1985 and stayed for 90 days TDY. Quiet town with a few great pubs. The real action was at the flight line. Back then it was F-111's. Those launch with a big roaring sound. For variety, I once walked to RAF Mildenhall to watch the SR-71 night launch...all you could see was blue flames and hear a loud thunder. Of course, I would love to have watched the F-15's...those were in Germany back then. Thanks you for sharing

    Boy I miss those!! Just the sound does you know what!! I worked on these at Eglin AFB in Florida and built the engines for them. I did get an incentive flight in one and spent 90 min in the Air with one of our best fighter pilots in the military and if you didn’t have respect for these guys before I’m telling you that you need to!!! What these guys go thru at 40,000 ft is absolutely incredible and mind blowing.
    Next time you meet an active or ex military pilot please take a second to thank them!!!

    Great video. love the no commentary or music in back ground. Just sound of awesomeness coming from those engines and burners. Do agree with many here, F15 Is still one of the coolest jets out there. So glad they didn’t sell that to Iran to like my other top fav jet the F14. Miss working around them when was on carrier decks in the early 90s and upset they got decommissioned. But still got the awesome, highest kill rate of enemy jets to itself being shot down every, the mighty beautiful F15

    Wish I would have had my camera when me and my wife were in the extreme east end of Panama city beach (it was a private excursion, taken by bus). Didn't know Tyndal A.F.B. was 10 miles away! Very low and Dark cloud cover. F-15s flying over us, up and down the beach and out over Ocean. Black Matte paint scheme. 500ft to 1000 ft for over an hour. So Cool! They were putting on as much of a show as they could considering Low cloud deck. I want one!

      For stills I’ll use a canon 1dx2, 300mmf2.8 and 1.4 extender.
      For video Panasonic vx870 and I’ll also have a Panasonic vx990 on a tripod for fixed stuff.

    WOW WOW WOW. Fantastic to see so many planes and amazing filming as usual. Imagine if they were all heading for the loop :-) Is someone else taking the still shots? They look pin sharp and I can't imagine they are taken from the video.

      The stills are taken from my dslr that the video camera sits on. I used a few cameras, hand held and fixed on a tripod.

    • @CanadianCoupe
      @CanadianCoupe 4 года назад +1

      Ah I wondered how you did it :-) I've tried filming planes with my DSLR and the zoom isn't smooth when you have to rotate the lens. I've tried mounting a GoPro on the hot shoe of the DSLR but it only really works for close subjects and when you're not using a zoom lens on the DSLR.

    • @DafyddPhillips
      @DafyddPhillips  4 года назад

      It can be difficult on the dslr with zoom. I zoom to where I know the subject will take up about 50% of the screen. This gives me enough room to stabilise in editing. Any room that’s left around the subject I can zoom in using the ken burns facility in editing. Obviously when hand held then zooming isn’t an issue.
      It’s trial and error and finding out what’s best for you. I’m open to any new ideas/suggestions 🎓😎👍

    Thank you for another fantastic video Dafydd :)
    From what i often read on the Mach Loop facebook page, F15 & other military jet action has pretty much dried up (Typical just as i'm upgrading my gear after 3 years of illness).
    Is it still worth a visit to the Loop & hope to get lucky one day ?

    • @DafyddPhillips

      Thanks lee and hope your on the mend.
      The loop is very quiet these days apart from Texans, hawks, occasional c130s and rarely F15s. The typhoons have stayed away for nearly two years now.
      I sit and hope that things will change back one day 🤞

    This is just so cool! I could watch military jets take off all day long!!! Question - why is it that you can see the red jets and in some you can't? It's just black. I thought maybe it was the angle, but there were many only showing black instead of red, even while angling up to ascend. Thank you for sharing this terrific video!!

    Not only can it employ virtually every weapon in the U.S. and coalition inventory, it’s also comically versatile in terms of the combinations of configurations that can be flown. The same attributes also make the F-15 the workhorse for testing and fielding of new weapons, sensors, and emerging capabilities that eventually make it onto other fighters like the F-22 and F-35.
