Would be really good is the parts had connectors, iv tried to make these using the stl files. Tried off setting the files and marking them 3 mm small so they sit inside
so ive got these files ready to slice and print but cant get any answers on supports and settings and all that. is this plane ready to go as is or does it need work. i see you did some modifications. any way i could get files to print from you please? i have an ender 3 pro. you did a great job on this.
Great plane friend. You seem to have a sound knowledge in electronics but seems like you don't have a experience in aerodynamics or rc plane. Just a small tip:change your motor. You know that the motor rotates the propeller but its torque also rotate the plane. You could also try giving a nice angle to the motor but i don't think it will work. RUclips search 'rc plane thrust angle" and watch a flittest video.it will explain you everything(almost).
This is awesome, what do you think about adding tabs for glueing parts together like the 3d print labs one, that would make less glue residue on the final product. Otherwise very cool, thanks for it!
Hi there. I haven't tried it yet because I live in the middle of a big city and it is illegal to fly RC planes in here. Soon my buddy will get me a ride outside the city and I'll finnaly test it. Besides I'm waiting for a smaller LIPO battery because the ones that I have are too big. U wellcome. Any question, any time :)
What do you mean by 2 perimeters? I'm new to this and my slicer doesn't have that option. I don't have the "solid layers" either, unless I just don't know what these terms mean. I am using Ultimaker Cura
If using cura its under walls and it how many walls u want it should be set to 2 and im using 10% infill with 2 walls and the parts are still strong and will be lighter overall
Where did you get the original stl. files from? If you didn't create them yourself, then can you please credit the person who modeled the parts and made the design.
Kartiko Nugroho Hi there. well I haven't test it yet outside. I was very busy and I need to get out of the center of the city to fly it.but the body is quite strong and also light and there are a lot of 3D printef planes like this one that can fly whitout any problem. keep up. I'll test it soon
based on the video, your plane seems too small for that load... that is why I asking the question... plane design is not just shape, but the scale, the weight, and the CG will make a plane can fly or not... actually I just right to print your stl file... but I wonder if you design it correctly or not... is it tested design (from any one else)? or you design it by yourself?
Kartiko Nugroho since I didn't test it yet I can't assure you 100% but it is a few cm bigger than comune bangood rc planes. And I also bought a smaller lipo with just 2000mAh to fit well and to weigh less. There are a lot of 3D printed planes on RUclips like this one and this is even a few cm bigger so I don't think scale would be a problem. This design is based in those and respects all airodinamics and RC controls. When the test is done I'll upload a video. Keep up and thanks for com.
can you give us information about the wingspan, wing area, weight, battery cell (2 or 3 cell?), prop size, and (the most important thing) CG location? let me calculate the predicted fly character of the plane (because I am just a noob pilot, I should select an easy fly plane. I only capable to drive beginner and intermediate grade RC plane)
It uses a 3S battery but with a size of 3x10x2cm and 200mAh. The prop is a 4510 with a lot of throttle but I recommand a tripple 11x6 proppeller because it will have less vibration. The wingspan is 63cm and each wing is 28cm long. The wing controls are 10 cm long. Total weight with the battery on is 591 grams. It is printed using PLA material and double layer walls. It is quite flexible and strong. The IMU is in the pilot case and the center of gravitation is exactly in the desired position calculated using this webpage adamone.rchomepage.com/cg_calc.htm Keep up :D
Hello there. Well, is not entirely my work. First you download a spitfire.obj file from google. There are a lot of plane designs from games on the internet. I've used BLENDER to edit and divide my parts. So you take that plane file and divide it into parts and make it double layer wall. Add all the details and sabe it into STL file. After that you have to wather seal it and give it another edit and make it ready to print. To wather seal it I've used NETFAB. Keep up :)
I just watched and was very impressed. I would have done some sanding first but that is great. I am after 2 large scale rc planes. one is a stealth bomber. The other is a very large predator drone with room under the nose cone for a camera. I hope you might have a idea on how to create a CAD file for both models. Expecially the Predator one. Thank you and we'll done. Jon
Looks like we have to work it out for our self as you do for many things on this plane including the CG / top and bottom layers on some prints and supports ( He did say that he marked the ones that need supports but I could not see any marks on the STL files or understand what he said ? ) I have just printed this in light weight PLA as I was a little concerned about the weight but I had to add some carbon fibre rod inside the fuselage to join the wings together as they were very flexible. Anyway now to think of a method to fix the canopy on as you said ! PS I will be very surprised if it last more than one flight ?
Christian Haagen hi there and thanks for the com. designing a entire RC plane takes a lot of time. try searching it on thinverse... I don't know. now I'm wit other projects... any questions just ask :)
Christian Haagen you've tried to open it directly with the explorer? if not, what compressing software did you use to extract the zip? for me and other guys it works perfect. just download it and extract the files.i've used 7zip software. If it doesn't work give me your mail and I'll send the zip to you.
Hello Sir, Need your help, I am RC Airplane hobbies. Please suggest best low cost 3d printer under $450 . Suggest in the view of Airplane components, durable, spare parts of printer available, large working area etc . . Please guide . . .
Hi, This is great and I am happy that your sharing my design on Thingiverse. But it would be nice to get credit on something that I did :) and a link to the original design as this isn't your work. Original design: www.myminifactory.com/object/rc-spitfire-19163
ABS is not that sticky. What i mean is that it will break between layers because the ABS print is not that compact. Also you would have a lot of problems printing in ABS the thin double layer wall of the 3D parts. I recommend PLA.
Yes, but I have no video of it. BUT!!!! I've used a small 1100mAh battery to reduce weight so the flight time is under 8 minutes. Besides, at landing the wing got broken. But I've just glued it in place.
i'm thinking of using a 2cell battery with just a normal rc rx in place of the arduino, should keep weight pretty low and adding some landing gear should make landing a bit easier.
You make some great videos. Please make a video to upgrade a flysky ct6b transmitter. They are available on aliexpress for less than $30.it has total 6 channel but is a real crap. I have bought it and and i want to make it better but sadly i can't. I am really weak at electronics and arduino based things. I would be really thankful if you can do it.
Great video in terms of IoT! But unfortunately no total weight / CoG / battery used / flight video, so really sucks as an RC video. You should really specify if this only to have fun building project, or a real flyer project!
Hola. Aún no he salido a probarlo. Saludos!
This guy hates his nice wood floors. Painting fumes will kill u indoors and use a saw on them.is asking for it. My girl would kill me if I was that crazy.
To make the plane look better and strengthen it..... I’ve painted it 😂😂😂 jeeze, paint don’t do shit for strength. If you wanted strength, first don’t use 3d printing, 2nd dont build a plane and 3rd if your not concerned with waste plastic every time you need to reprint because you crash then you might as well tissue and dope the fucking thing, can’t stop you crashing but can deffo make some of the parts stronger than your print!
How do you attach the cockpit
wow man! thats impresive. great job with this and thanks for the inspiration. good luck
Erick Reconco thanks for your comment :)
I can't see well the tail part servos, is there any pics for'em ?
Wow and you managed to make it fly with the cheapest possible ebay motor too. Good job man. Im surprised the motor is like 7$
hallo can you tell how me how you print Spitfire-Control-Surface-4 i hav trying many tim now i am using sidewinder x1
Would be really good is the parts had connectors, iv tried to make these using the stl files. Tried off setting the files and marking them 3 mm small so they sit inside

Do u need a lipo battery and how many amp
How did you use the propeller?
Which propellers are you using?
And will there be a suspension?
Great video buddy!! 😎
Hi Excellent work, keep it up much appreciated.
How big of a battery did you use?
Great plane friend.
You seem to have a sound knowledge in electronics but seems like you don't have a experience in aerodynamics or rc plane.
Just a small tip:change your motor. You know that the motor rotates the propeller but its torque also rotate the plane. You could also try giving a nice angle to the motor but i don't think it will work.
RUclips search 'rc plane thrust angle" and watch a flittest video.it will explain you everything(almost).
Thank you very much!
can i ask you a question. If i use a2212 1400kv for this project is torque of this motor can affect my plane ?
Where is the tip of the rudder piece? Can you send an STL file of that, please?
You will find it in the Stls Details Folder Tail_tip.stl
This is awesome, what do you think about adding tabs for glueing parts together like the 3d print labs one, that would make less glue residue on the final product. Otherwise very cool, thanks for it!
Did you try and fly it yet? Really nice project. Thank you for giving the stl files away for free.
Hi there. I haven't tried it yet because I live in the middle of a big city and it is illegal to fly RC planes in here. Soon my buddy will get me a ride outside the city and I'll finnaly test it. Electronoobs did you fly it?
hello what is the motor and propeller spec. ?
great work buddy, love it simple and nice, nice holiday project
Thanks, means a lot to me!

were is the tip of the tail?
Hello
Is there a video for this plane while flying?
Where did you get the original stl. files from? If you didn't create them yourself, then can you please credit the person who modeled the parts and made the design.
Ste Hodge you have to buy them from 3dorintlabs
i think this is a different model to the 3D printlabs spitfire
did you give credit to the original creator ?????? cant see it anywhere
Which propeller I can use for a2212 2200kv
The wing servos won't fit by any chance
it is able to fly? I mean the airframe... it is tested? what is maximum weight it can lift (calculation or real test)?

Can I ask how you went about designing the parts? Like what program did you use and how did you get the dimensions and stuff accurate?

jonrms it could be done but now I'm sorry on other projects. keep up my friend and tanks for the com
ELECTRONOOBS thank you anyway. I will get someone to help with the CAD files
Can I use A2212 980KV Brushless DC Motor for this and what is ESC compatible with this
dulanjan sasindu don't use a 980kv motor.use a lighter motor. Preferably a 1s or 2s motor
The elevator is corrupted or smth when it came out it's choppy
This project has worked?
Super cool! Can it be printed in ABS?
you must not be a 3d printer
@@ferce889 indeed, I'm not a 3d printer, but a 3d printer user.
@@gonzo2779 to answer your question you can but im not sure what settings you would have to tweak as the settings for this are for PLA
how do you keep the canopy on the plane while flying?
Looks like we have to work it out for our self as you do for many things on this plane including the CG / top and bottom layers on some prints and supports ( He did say that he marked the ones that need supports but I could not see any marks on the STL files or understand what he said ? ) I have just printed this in light weight PLA as I was a little concerned about the weight but I had to add some carbon fibre rod inside the fuselage to join the wings together as they were very flexible. I can't find nr. 17 of the tail.
How much weight of your plane?
And payload weight?
Hi nice Video, I'm looking for a RC replica of a C-130 Hercules can you make one or know where to fine som STL files?

I highly suggest doing that for any other designs that you've used.

What's thé 3d printer refrence
If I damage the part can I print it again?
probably no... you are not allowed to do that
Yes once u have the files u can print replacement parts
Does this fly
very good

hi,man ,i want your help for project like this ,can we contact with email .
Might change thumbd down to up, once you gif ref to the genuine creator of the parts!
would be nice iff i had a 3D printer
:/
Possibly the worst colour for visibility for an RC plane!!
