      That's a GTT product called Traffic Light Pre-Emption. It's been around for 15+ years. Whelen wants to charge an annual fee for their software so they integrate GTT's solution into their platform. Not really necessary as the GTT system uses on-vehicle transmitters to tell lights to turn green.

    I love how they are switching to ev's gonna make it much easier to get away when these are all rolling around after half a days use and have to chase someone with 15% battery power. Plus lets be real not like they will ever be charged back to 100% so GFL catching folks when you only need to run for 10 minutes and the rozzers call the chase of for low battery or just turn 2 corners and these 8000lbs boats understeer off the road into some old ladys house. Absolute fucking joke.

      Exactly. So impractical, and such a burden. 8-10 hours to charge is absolutely horrendous compared to the 5-10 minutes it takes to fill up any squad car. Woohoo, you get cool accessories with the EVs, but is it really necessary?

    • @jackhemphill7257
      @jackhemphill7257 7 месяцев назад +1

      They charge a lot faster than 8 to 10 hours.. level 3 charge stations, that police will most like have or better, will change the vehicle to 80 percent in 17 to 52 mins, from what I have read.. to charge the last 20 percent left takes longer because the battery has tech built in to slow the charging down to prevent over charge or over heating. So when officers go back to the station for lunch or to drop people off at jail they could plug in for a fast charge thet takes less than an hour..

    a ton of good stuff in here to protect our officers and our public. something that definitely needs to be addressed is public outreach from local PDs and state PDs, trying to build trust with communities instead of just expecting the community to respect them with no effort. another big thing is amending police unions to include updated misconduct clauses so they can no longer protect these officers who have actually done wrong and committed either legal offenses or civil rights infringements against citizens.
