As I was just about to release this video, the US House voted to approve the $95 billion aid package for America's allies that includes $61 billion worth of additional funding for Ukraine. This will undoubtedly have a huge impact on the future course of events in Europe, and if you want to learn more about last year's huge Ukrainian counteroffensive, check out this video's companion episode in Modern Conflict on Nebula here nebula.tv/videos/reallifelore-modern-conflicts-the-2023-ukraine-counteroffensive
In addition to my monthly Modern Conflicts videos on Nebula, I'm also posting monthly videos to Nebula in my new series called War Room, which provides monthly updates from active conflicts happening all around the world. The second episode of this new series covering the major global events of March can be seen here nebula.tv/videos/reallifelore-march-2024-recap-isis-ukraine-and-haiti

This reality is the direct result of decades of neocon foreign policy disrespecting and using other nations as pawns. It didn't have to be this way, this would have never happened if Trump was elected. Love him or hate him, a strong American leader is the best determent. A demented American leader is an invitation for chaos. How this is so difficult to understand to the majority of America shows how low information our voters are.

It's true that nazi appeasment and phony war was the worst decision of France and Britain (not the USA since they just didn't care at the time).
We must not, and will not make the same mistake again.
Thinking that the USA is the reliable partner right now totally eludes me. Like, did you watch the video? The USA might not respond when we need them, or be occupied in the Pacific. For an additional increase, they would need new machinery and so forth. I doubt Russia would even need 1.500 new tanks per year.
You shouldnt underestimate Russias MIC. But you also shouldnt overestimate it. The war is relatively close. Both sides can win as of right now, both sides can loose.
There is the RUclipsr Covert Cabal who counts tanks with satelite imagery. I forgot the exact number, but his numbers indicate about 1.000 old soviet tanks leaving the storage facilities per year. You can count along if you would like.
I can also highly recomend Perun on that topic. He does hour long videos on defense economic every sunday. In his Ukraine Update videos he also goes quite deeply into the loss and production data.
Also a quick google search brought up an article from cnn, where it reads: "It is churning out about 125 tanks a month, but the vast majority are older models that have been refurbished. About 86% of the main battle tanks Russia produced in 2023 were refurbished, the NATO official said. And although Russia has about 5,000 tanks in storage, “probably a large percentage of those can’t be refurbished and are only good for cannibalizing parts,” the official said."

If there was a clear mass of Russian troops along the borders of the baltics, there would be a lot of NATO troops in Poland ready to counterattack Kaliningrad. EU Battlegroups may be there in force faster but also 48 hours minimum, 72 more likely.
That means that if Russia can overrun the Baltics fast and hard, and their small size and armies, 0 air force and little air defense means it is possible, then NATO/EU must either swing from the north through Finland at which point it is no longer defense but attack, or come from the sea in a very costly amfibious assault. The NATO Article 5 interpretation presented in the video is not how the alliance functions, only a member state operating either subversively or in extremely bad faith could cause this to happen. The working interpretation is that the collective will decide on a response, then the individual states will comply and take the responsibilities determined for them by the collective. The idea that NATO countries can individually opt out of Article 5 and send limited humanitarian aid is simply not true, and if it was to become true the alliance would cease to exist at that time.
Remember that each individual state must treat any aggression on a member state as they would treat an attack on their own soil. The notion that they could send a few helmets and medkits in response is absurd. It is possible that the entire collective may together decide not to respond, but that would require the US military to admit that they are afraid to face the Russian military, which would essentially end the current world order.

Russia has a long history of degrading its society and people. With USSR, they taught their people that going against the government means long life sentence or death. Live quiet, do not raise your voice, ignore a black car that came to pick your neighbor at night.
Putin regime however, went with a different approach. He convinced the people that they can live their life, do business, travel, and just enjoy their lives BUT only as long as they do not attempt to take even a percentage of government power. All who did are long dead.
I recall there was a very influential general loved by civilians and soldiers. He died in a plane crash, just like Prigozhyn.
There were many more with the last one being Navalny. That agreement unfortunately changed in 2022. Russians no longer are free to live as they wish if they do not protest against the government. Their money, freedom and lives belong to the nation. over 400k lives have been "laid for the motherland" in the last 2 years already (well deserved though).
My point being is you can train people to behave as you please. To do that, all the brave, all the truly free by nature must leave or die. And they did. The amount of scientists and otherwise smart Russians who left the country since 1990 is astounding. They started to leave faster when they saw that KGB man became the president. Mass exodus happened again in 2022 when they realized they will be forced to become soldiers. And the ones that stayed, well, they are jus ta little more than obedient slaves. They are trained to do what they are told.

It wasn’t a few, it was several millions. And they were being treated bad and they should never have been included in Czechoslovakia. The Sudetenland should instead have been made part of Austria after the dissolution of the Austria-Hungarian Empire. There was no respect for the “self-determination of Nations”. It was all about weakening Germany/A-H. Even the creation of Czechoslovakia seems to have been a bad idea. The Czechs and the Slovaks had never been administered together before and the Czechs ended up lording it over the rural and less educated Slovaks. That is important to understand why the Slovaks made a dumb deal with Hitler (that Hitler immediately broke).
It is also usually not taught that the British Empire wasn’t ready for a war. It had disarmed, had a low arms production, and it’s population was strongly opposed to anything that sounded even slightly militaristic after the horrors of WW1.

The EU was at stake the second Russian troops stepped out of Russia. History makes that very very obvious.

The thing about Article 5 (23:55) where it might not be effective because some nations could just do "such action as it deems necessary" is complete bull. Because the start of that sentence "individually and in concert" negates that little snidbit. Because what will ultimately happen if Putin invades the Baltics is that Poland will immediately retaliate with full force, as will Finland and likely the UK, Czechia, and a few others. Whatever ideas that US Congress might have to stall, or that Erdogan or Orban might have to take it slow (side with RuSSia), or that Germany or France might have for a minimalist reaction, won't matter. Because once Poland strikes back- and they will strike back, then Putin will attack Poland too. The idea that the Baltics might be sacrificed in any invasion of NATO is something that only really makes sense to the countries so far away from the Baltics that they'd prefer that and maybe even prefer just making a ceasefire with Russia after the Baltics are taken. But for the Central Europeans, for Finland, the countries that were invaded by Russia and conquered in LIVING MEMORY, none of them are going to just send first-aid kits. And once Poland strikes and is struck back, then the delays are all over. Britain and France have shown already in the past that invading Poland is their red line lol, and the US has troops all over the place anyway and will fight back even if Congress wants to do what Congress does and stays super slow. Then, Hungary and Turkiye will need to make their choices. Either they side with NATO and join in with the fight, or when it's done and Russia is soundly defeated, we just kick them out of NATO. We might have to add a new clause to the treaty since one for removal doesn't currently exist, but the idea that we can't do it is childish. A unanimous vote by the other members to remove the traitors who didn't join in with the fight would be recognized, even if Orban and Erdogan whine about "the rules" afterwards. We'll laugh at them and kick them to the curb. Unless they join in the fight, in which case good for everyone. But just saying, they might be the only 2 who don't join in with an Article 5 decision. No one else would stand back.

So much this. The Article 5 verbiage is written to ensure each member contributes as they can while ensuring their own unique concerns are maintained. US would still have Carrier Group(s) in the Pacific monitoring China, and forces stations through out Africa and the Middle East. Other members would send what they could while still keeping their own border safe. Pretty much the only member that doesn't need to ensure NATO works is America so it doesn't matter who gets attacked in NATO, they all comin.

Not every situation is WWII and not every other nation is ran by the Nazi party. There are far more examples throughout history where appeasement worked and created a lasting peace than the opposite. I'm not advocating for Russia taking these territories, but we need to think long and hard before we decide where to draw the line. Are we really willing to sacrifice millions of lives, both our own and Russian, to protect the territorial sovereignty of, say, Estonia?
This question is very near to me. I have been a soldier my entire adult life. I have seen the cost of war, and at a comparatively tiny scale compared to what a war with Russia would bring. I've watched women and children be blown into greasy smears of meat and gore on the side of the road. I've had many of my closest friends killed or Wounded, some physically some mentally.
When we think about war, we often think retrospectively. War X happened and Y many people died, but that's not the proper way to view it. Walk out into your neighborhood and look at the kids playing in the street with their parents looking on. Look at those people and choose, physically point your finger at them, and decide how many of them you would be willing to let them scream in angony with their guts blown across some foreign field to stop Russia. Realistically, the answer isn't zero and shouldn't be zero. You do have to stop bullies around the world, but when people say "we must do this" or "we must do that" just remember that that word "must" is written in the blood of your friends, family, and neighbors.

Depends on what you mean by new. The T-14 may or may not exist at this moment at all. Russia is unable to build the most updated version of the T90, the T-90M, due to the embargoes. They have either started building the 20 year old T-90A again or they are trying to update them to almost modern. Multiple factories have started pumping out T-80s. They are probably old vehicles being upgraded, but that is still a Soviet era platform and system.

43:19 - Including the bonus option, all three are certain:
1 - The credibility of the European Union and NATO as an organization will collapse because each member will do whatever they want to protect their own financial assets now, while ignoring their own security and the security of their neighbors in the future.
2 - There will be a full-scale war with the members of the European Union and NATO, because none of the member states will join forces with another that is not itself in the middle of the war, which means that Russia as an aggressor will fight all the members of these organizations 1v1 in turn.
3(Bonus) - All treaties and international laws about peace will prove to be worthless, as they are only there to deter a potential aggressor from attacking a neighbor and to make sure that any member who abides them must pay only for a worthless promise of defense that will be broken as soon as the membership benefits of the attacked country fall too much to pay as much as it should to be still considered worth of defending.

Hey, Estonian guy here wanting to make a comment regarding Narva. Narva might be a completely Russian town, but that part of north-eastern Estonia is separated from Russia by a pretty wide river, meaning that invasion over that part of the country would be a lot more difficult (just take a look of the current Ukraine front lines and they all are near big, wide rivers as it is very difficult for armies to advance over such geographic features). Secondly, the russians in Estonia are very well aware that by being part of the EU and getting to live in Estonia, they benefit from far better economic and freedom of movement benefits they would never give up just to be part of Russia. As the invasion of Narva itself would be difficult due to geography, if Russia decided to level Narva through bombing, that would only give even more incentive for the russians of Narva to not want to be part of Russia.

All the fear mongering is to sell more weapons and try to collapse Russia and fight to the last Ukrainian. The western bankers already have divided up Ukraine in terms Agriculture,Fracking rights and other mining. The unions got smashed and zero sum contracts rolled out etc. This bankers wet dream was all carried out under Victoria Nuland who orchestrated the coupe in 2014 and was just replaced. NATO is the ultra spear head of American corporate acquisition. Ukraine could have remained neutral and really benefited rather than a bunch of Banderites funded by Washington running the show. This exposé on the NATO proxy war with Russia is a load of propaganda to keep you from any rational thought process. Russia doesn't even want western Ukraine because is knows it could never manage it. Anyway Poland will probably take back land it lost after WW2 like the Levov when this is all wrapped up. The west doesn't care about Ukraine with it's little gimp running around securing loans it can never repay sacrificing all it's men. It just cares about weakening Russia and exploiting Ukraine. This video is a greatly detailed speculation on possibilities through the Baltic States. However, I don't think it takes something very critical into account. Namely the idea that NATO could now place tactical warheads in Finland and Sweden as a response to Russia placing them in Belarus. This would be a pretty serious move which would make anyone think more than just twice about invading the Baltic States (even as a mere test of Article 5) after putting the world on high alert. This statement is no doubt based on the idea that NATO is brave enough to make such a move. On the other hand, I don't think that gaining air/sea superiority is the only thing that NATO would do at the Baltic States in case of a conflict. The immediate response would be an attack on Russian ground itself, behind the defensive lines rather than defending the Baltic States at the front lines. Not to forget the immense and immediate threat that Finland poses over the 1350km long border directly with Russia - an immediate cutoff would possibly be applied from that side as well.

I am an old man now. Having served in the US Navy for 10 years, (74-84), and being of 1/2 German and 1/2 Polish decent, I venture my OPINION on this subject. War in Europe over the last 300 or so years appears as though it is the continental pastime. I think it is long past time for the European community to stand up TOGETHER for their right to freedom and a peaceful life. This means spending more capital on your military in all respects. Yes, SOME assistance from the United States should be forth coming. But dependence upon the USA for your freedom and welfare should no longer be a given. We have enough problems of our own right now. I strongly believe that one of the, if not the most evaded country's in the world, POLAND will NEVER allow it's self to be overrun or occupied by Russia again ! And more power to the Polish people for it !!!
