I try to be as honest about my feelings as I can. If you’re a huge Spidey fan then maybe wait for a sale, but truthfully there are better books to spend money on
I bought plenty of these as single issues. Just like Onslaught, this got me to drop Spidey for quite awhile. I've been contemplating buying this one since I have vol. 1. But this flip through and review made me remember. It's just so convoluted and decompressed to sell more issues. And the ending is a basic " All this" for a status quo return.
I caught up on quite a lot of your omnibus reviews and was wondering if you are excited for any other Spider-Man omnis this year. I'm personally really excited for Brand New Day Vol 1, Superior Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2099 to join my ever growing collection of omnis. Keep up the great review!
I’m glad you asked, I have quite a few I’m looking forward to trying as well! I’m going to cheat a little bit and include supporting characters, but on my wishlist I have Spider-Man 2099, Spider-Man Beyond, Superior Spider-Man, Black Cat, Ghost Spider, Brand New Day, Nick Spencer Vol 2, and obviously the GOAT Ultimate Spider-Man. Edit: OH, and Spider-Man by Chip Zdarsky! So many Spidey books! 😄
One has to appreciate the determination of yours to finish the clone saga😀 Okej now first question. Now that you finished this era of spiderman will you make a video about that harley quinn omnibus i been waiting for some quiet time now🤔😆 Second question. Would you ever consider showing your whole collection 😄
It took a lot of willpower to make it through all 4 books 😅 To answer your questions, I haven’t had much time for reading lately, but since I know you’re waiting for that Harley book, I’ll push it to the top of the list. As for a collection tour, I’d be open to it, but I’m not sure at the moment what would be the best way to organize and record that. I’d have to think about it. Maybe if I reach 1K subs 😉
@Super Fly Comics Guy with that will power you would be more than worthy of green lantern ring😁 and I'm glad for that rearranged reading list just can't wait for it😄
I heard some good about the clone saga, but I am a bit worried about being able to enjoy it and it's quite long. At least the cover for the volume is extremely good.
As someone who has just finished reading all of it… it is very long. They took a 6-issue story and stretched it out across thousands of pages. It’s really difficult to recommend unless you’re already a fan of the era
Reading the Clone Saga at the time was like watching Predator 2 after having seen the excellent first movie. We were all dissing about the second movie and claiming the first one was better. But later they came AvP, AvP2, Predators, and so on. And after that big pile of trash, one realizes that Predator 2 had its issues but was not as bad. With the clone Saga I have a similar feeling. Yes, the clone saga has a lot of problems, especially its excessive duration. That said, when I think about the last two decades of Spidey (including stories like the silly resurrection of Aunt May, the non-sensical retcon of Sins Past, or the fact that Peter Parker has gone NOWHERE since then) one realizes that by no means the Clone Saga is the worst era of Spiderman.
Love this analogy, thanks for sharing! The duration is definitely the Clone Saga’s biggest problem, as it’s because of that duration that they had to keep throwing in all these false leads and twists without much payoff. If it was significantly cut down to be more concise, the Clone Saga honestly could have been a pretty awesome story!
Oh no, poor Ben 😂 Tbh I really like Ben Reilly as a character, I feel like he has a lot of potential, but it’s the stories that he’s put into that often aren’t great.
@@SuperFlyComicsGuy - I agree. He wasn’t the problem with the Clone Saga . They should have kept him dead after, because his stories since then have just not fit the character very well. There really wasn’t any reason to bring him back (A lot of people hated Norman coming back, but he’s a much more pivotal and essential character than Ben is .). I did like the bonding between Peter and Ben .
I appreciate the honesty in your reviews. I was looking into getting the Ben Reilly Omnis but I think I will wait...

Yeah I really think your money would be better spent elsewhere, unless you’re really after that specific nostalgia from this period
Finally my man is gonna finally read peak spiderman with jms vol 1
The time has come 😎
Gotta say I love that art 🎨 work on that Spider-Man Comic!😉
When it’s good, it’s really good!

In brightest day, in blackest night, no omnis shall escape my sight 😛

@@SuperFlyComicsGuy I am probably not going to bite the bullet then.
What could be painful about the fan-favorite, 'Clone Saga?'
Spidercide would like a word with you, run while you can!

Thank you for reading this so I don’t have to. 😂
Hahaha anytime, my suffering is in service of something greater 😂
Reilly probably should have stayed dead.
