So I hope you feel the appreciation today like you did on this stream, my man!
chat gaslighting poor LML about spiders having fangs lol. i love how these livestreams are becoming something of a collabrotive effort but that made me chuckle. 😭
“Icy teeth and frost fangs…” this is what I’m talking about. I just designed a wall specifically to collect drift snow for green gardening purposes. This world of ice and fire is perpetually inspiring.
Spiders definitely have what are considered in zoology as "fangs." They're the sharp parts of the chelicerae [mouth parts] that inject venom. You right, LML, you right. 🤜🤛
Your talk of the white walkers having “eyes” via the stars in the sky made me wonder if the moon represents an eye too. There used to be two moons… or two eyes? Great videos. Your passion for ASoIaF is extremely infectious, and I really enjoy your commentary. Thanks for continuing to put out your awesome content! Also, spiders do have fangs; the hollow tooth designed to inject venom is a fang, not a pincer; a pincer is more like a claw, such as what a crab or a scorpion might have at the end of its arm, or what an ant might have on its mouth.

In faery lore, they can actually choose when they want to be seen(no, not just an Arthur Spiderwick idea), so I think it's VERY cool to think that the Others are on the wind and can choose when to manifest a body. GRRM loves Gaelic mythology so I really do think there's something to this. Good job, as always.
Thank you! And yes I knew in a general way that fae beings can do that; this would be taking George’s “icy aes sidhe” comparison to the Others all the way!
@@DavidLightbringer yeah it's pretty cool. Apologies for the length of this response in advance. GRRM even used some Pleiades lore in his books. On a side note, has it ever occured to you that if you added red to blue, you get purple? Do we think that the Green trees on the Island are preserved because their root system is somehow severed from the original network because of being on an island? Or the Green men perhaps used magic to create the island and/or sever their connection to the original system? Which could mean that originally alll trees were part of the "green" network, and had real spirits and were alive and sentient, but then all trees that were connected became corrupted and died, or their spirits turned into the others? The "Red Widow" is actually a type of Black Widow spider in the real world. Of course they are called Black Widows because the females spiders eat the male spiders after mating. Evolutionarily speaking, the male spider is not of much use after the mating, so the female spider consumes the male spider to gain the protein and energy for reproduction. So the use of Red Widow symbolism in the Rohanne Webber story works on many levels: 0. The sigil colors are the weirwood colors, weirwood net, etc, I think you covered all this in the Rohanne Webber stream 1. From the plot perspective, her husbands just keep dying mysteriously after each marriage, there is a rumor that she kills them, so that's like the female Red Widow spider eating the male spiders it mates with. 2. Symbolically, Azor Ahai is a dead man. The Nissa Nissa/Nght's Queen person eats Azor Ahai (or gets his energy) and pops out Ice spiders.
Makes sense that the WW aren’t “killed” when their ice bodies break, especially if they’re imprisoned within the weirwoods - more reason to go inside and face them down, only to understand their situation and change it.
That’s a cool idea, that the Wall is made from ice dragons. I’ve always thought the cold pool in Winterfell’s godswood was a melted ice dragon and that the heart tree was drinking it.
Honestly if Bran the builder was just building structures with dragons around the world and trapping them in there like the Warlocks of Qarth to use them as magic batteries that’d be funny. Love the idea of building the wall with dragons.
@@DavidLightbringer I need candy, any kind'll do Don't care if it's nutritious or "FDA approved" It's gonna make me spaz like bobcats on booze A hyperactive juice that only I can produce
I'm 25 minutes into this. You had just equated poison to venom, symbolically. Frost Fangs are called that because the icicles on the trees in the mountain range. Doran poisoned the tip of his metal long fang and bit into The Mountain. (Direwolf dreams call weapons teeth and claws? I think) I don't know what to make of this, but hey, more symbolism there maybe? I know you already did a big breakdown on sun, comet, moon meteors, cosmic axis, etc
There's ice magic and fire magic that seem to be at odds with each other but what about green magic being at odds with water magic: the Iron Born say "What is dead may never die" which seems like a perversion of green magic and the cycle of life and natural death. Just a thought...
One of the best arguments that I have found recently for your Azor Ahai/Dragonlords being the problem argument is the fact that Nan specifically says that the first men “gave the weirdwoods to the fire”. That seems like maybe Azor Ahai and his crew tried to beat them that way first before a “can’t beat them, join them” tactic and invaded the WWNet. Giving to the fire is such specific language that I don’t think GRRM would have used it by chance.
When (I think it was Jamie or Arya) falls asleep on a weirwood stump, they have what seems like a weirwood dream. I tend to think a dead or cut weirwood can see the past, but no longer the present or future or connect
Dont know if you¿ll get to read this commet but thank you for all this productions that you make and help us navigate the tribulations of life. Thank ypu LML!!!!
I just wanted to mention once that I believe it should be noted that Yiti really should be seen as a mixture of the Chinese empire and ancient India, especially in regards to the plentiful old ruins.
Do you know what it is like to be sold, squire? I do. My brother sold me to Khal Drogo for the promise of a golden crown. Well, Drogo crowned him in gold, though not as he had wished, and I... my sun-and-stars made a queen of me, but if he had been a different man, it might have been much otherwise. Do you think I have forgotten how it felt to be afraid?
Thanks for the follow-up stream. Great content! I really like the teleportation theory. There was an episode of Star Trek: NextGen, in which legends and myths about a now extinct civilization could materialize people (mostly soldiers) out of thin air in any location throughout the galaxy. When the crew stumble upon a long abandoned out-post, they encounter this technology. Not saying that the WW use some advanced tech., just that this episode clicked on in my head.
A beautiful aspect is that e.g. in Daoism Ying and Yang is about balancing the opposites. While in Buddhism on the highest level it is about combining, literally copulating the opposites to eliminate the division.
There are a lot more teleportation fey myths/legends through trees, Dungeons and Dragons consequently have a bunch in their game and spells like “tree stride”. General rules: one hides behind a tree or enters into a tree and appears within sight out of another tree. More powerful levels, can travel to any tree in that plane of reality. That being said, teleportation is treated with care in fantasy gaming and can quickly become abused to game ending problems. I would guess GRRM wouldn’t allow actual teleportation in ASOIAF; but instead perceived teleportation like in works like “Elfquest” and that Clint Eastwood movie.
1:38:23 I think that what Bran saw in the heart of Winter was himself, intertwined with the frozen heart tree, as The Great Other It'd scare the sht outta me...
I just had a thought at the start when you were talking about Ice dragons. I remember a quote in Fire and Blood when Queen Alysanne takes her Silverwing North and to the wall. From what I recall (I must reread to find it) Silver wing behaved strangely at the wall and would not pass the boundary of the wall to the other side. Alysanne laughs this off but is concerned. I just wonder if you ever had any thoughts on this ? (It's likely discussed in another vidoe and if so apologies just came to my head! Keep up the good work ! :)
Yeah we’ve discussed it a few times, it’s unclear whether the dragon couldn’t fly over the wall or did not want to because it found it extremely unpleasant. I think the main thing is supposed to tell us is that the dragons aren’t going to have an easy time with the white walkers, that their cold magic will repel or dishearten the dragons
@@DavidLightbringer oh cool ! Apologies that it was already discussed 🤣 I only recently found and subscribed to this amazing channel ! Yes I had the same thoughts , George is setting the tone that the dragons will have their work cut out for them in faring against the Ice magic of the others , dragons sensing the danger or finding it particularly unpleasant, I wondered at the time of reading if perhaps dragons couldn't pass the wall due to the magic of the wall keeping the others out on one side interesting parallel the dragons unable/unwilling to pass through from the other side !
For Ice Spiders, I agree in a behind the scenes sense; but in a “in world” sense: the spiders as trees don’t move from their spot, so there is likely another physical Ice Spiders moving that inspires the rumors for the locals. Probably ice clumped long hair zombies and frozen ice chunks of zombies with only a limb or two free each. Again, as a set of clues GRRM is telling about the Weirwoods/others: I agree, but as the direct cause for the wildlings’ rumors, not the main cause.
I think both Night's King and the Queen were starks, maybe bastards or somethring. It makes sense for them to practice incest, since people think it's a curse not just imoral. In general I think both Night's king and queen and Amethyst and Bloodstone were brother and sister or releated anyway.
If you do talk to Preston about TTBran: tell him about Finn Mcool myth and H.G. Wells “Time Machine “. Also the Tower card and how climbing down is falling up an upside down Tower. Bran will go down the well to a river, Reed climbs AND builds boats; so they will float (Altered States water floating) back to the Wall or Winterfell.
When you started correcting other "mistakes" during the now "infamous" Spider Fang Rant, and said "also I said Missy Elliot was the queen bee, but she's not, it's Lil Kim..." I busted out laughing fr. and WeirWood Teleportation is an amazing idea. blew my mind... Love bro.
Just telling my wife about the sword Dawn, that it's supposed to have been forged from a meteor. She said it would have had to have been a meaty-ore to be suitable to be made into such a powerful sword
What’s crazy is that I also referenced MC Pee Pants from Aquateen Hunger Force in the same stream. Didn’t know what “just called me” was even from actually so that’s wild
The pedants are out in force in the live chat in this one. Edit: And as far as the weirwood net, there is a real world basis for this, aspen trees form "clonal colonies" that consist of a single interconnected organism. The trees reproduce via root sprouts. The largest known colony is named Pando and is in Utah, USA it is estimated to be the heaviest and oldest living organism at 6 million kilos and 80 thousand years. (Most of that I knew off hand but had to look up the stats and location of Pando) Edit 2: Forgot to mention, Pando covers an area of 106 acres.
Man- really loving the symbolism of spiders as avatars of structure & control, as well as the associations between the spiderwebs & snowflakes. Cool stuff.
Also- probably completely unrelated, but the "prince who was promised", always makes me think of Nadine from The Stand, asking who promised her to Flagg.
Great video again! You definitely have me thinking back on Mel and her vision of the Great Other. Mel sees the Great Other and his Champion. Of course Mel's visions are unreliable, but what if this vision is correct? Like, the Others are the manifestation of the fallen dreamers whom died and were added to the hive mind. And now theyre pissed at Blood Raven for trapping them in the Net. Love how this video made me think of something new, even though I'm wrong. Thanks!
Woods Walkers in Essos connect with Shade of the Evening trees whereas the Children of the Forest connect through the Weirwoods. Two branches of children that sing the song of the earth, bringing balance through evolution and changing times.
sometime ago i liked to compare storms and lightning to ''sky dragons'' (kinda redundant but whatever), with the others being compared to mist maybe a living snowstorm could be an ''ice dragon''.
one thought I had about bran, when he falls from the tower he suffers a near death experience, which seems to help him open his third eye, did this experience opened up the frozen/dead side of the weirwood net to Bran and maybe even its this particular fact that give Bran the ability to interact with the past or more specifically the dead, such as when Bran speaks to Ned causing Ned to react to his voice. for wall we know Bran might even have actually died and the three eyes raven raised him from the dead. adter all, what is dead can not die but rises again harder and stronger.
When you mentioned the black gate being for the night’s watch to pass it made me wonder. Obviously the magic in the wall seems to prevent wights and others and such creatures of magic from passing. If the night’s watch used to be wights as the symbolism seems to suggest then they wouldn’t be able to pass either, but maybe the black gate exists as a way for those night’s watch wights to pass through the wards
2:35:10 "so who are the conquerors?" I can only think of one character titled conqueror. maybe you've heard of him. reigned about, oh, 300 or so years before the beginning of the story. had two sisters and wives (same people.) rode a dragon called the black dread. 😉

What an aesthetic overload!
What a blessing to come home from work for. Just magnificent work dude, as always
Thanks Christian!
Coming home after work to D. Lightbringer☄ and some Garth🌿
These are a few of my favorite things

Saving this stream for later, but an offering to the algorithm can't wait.
For the algorithm. Thank you for another great stream!
Thanks 🙏🏻 for sharing this very good stream LML!💪🏼👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻🙋🏼♀️🇨🇦
The fArya / Ramsay wedding takes place in a strange mist, but it's a *warm* mist from the hot springs.
Keep up the great videos Lucy. PRAISE GARTH!!
Your channel helps me white out my coworkers worship of the Orange Goblin. F’Real.
ugh. Stay strong buddy
@@DavidLightbringer I need candy, any kind'll do

I'm 25 minutes into this.
You had just equated poison to venom, symbolically.
Frost Fangs are called that because the icicles on the trees in the mountain range.
Doran poisoned the tip of his metal long fang and bit into The Mountain.
(Direwolf dreams call weapons teeth and claws? I think)
I don't know what to make of this, but hey, more symbolism there maybe? I know you already did a big breakdown on sun, comet, moon meteors, cosmic axis, etc
There's ice magic and fire magic that seem to be at odds with each other but what about green magic being at odds with water magic: the Iron Born say "What is dead may never die" which seems like a perversion of green magic and the cycle of life and natural death. Just a thought...
Another delightfully thought provoking episode.
Happy Mardi Gras from south Louisiana! Come join the fun! Learn our mythology about our crews! Much love David!
Oh I’d love to visit nawlins some time I’ve hear about it
It’s a wild ride down here! Bring Miss Minty and let’s party!
almost 3 hours of absolute bomb ass content. yes!!
oh wow thank you it was just me talking. appreciate it
One of the best arguments that I have found recently for your Azor Ahai/Dragonlords being the problem argument is the fact that Nan specifically says that the first men “gave the weirdwoods to the fire”.
Keep up the good work!
Dont know if you¿ll get to read this commet but thank you for all this productions that you make and help us navigate the tribulations of life. Thank ypu LML!!!!
Bummed I missed this one live. Stuck late at work. The spider rapper from aqua teen is MC Peepants. I love that one.
Fucking hysterical man that one was devastating
The ice spider stuff is paying big dividends, symbol-wise!
Ice Spiders, Nice Spiders, Spiders from MARS
Brilliant as always. Thank you :)
Oh that’s an interesting distinction
@@DavidLightbringer Amazing video, as always.
Thanks Dave
1:38:23 I think that what Bran saw in the heart of Winter was himself, intertwined with the frozen heart tree, as The Great Other
It'd scare the sht outta me...
Okay that’s scary, yeah, I dig it
As always, the best content RUclips has to offer.
thanks Brent!!!
LML dropping the news we might be getting the collaboration with Preston Jacobs we’ve all wanted! 🥳🥳
Sad I missed this live, guess I’ll just have to enjoy it now ;)
I think both Night's King and the Queen were starks, maybe bastards or somethring.
The old school Japanese Spider-Man theme could be free of copyright shenanigans 🤷🏼♂️
Ayo you KNOW my boi David LML an OG when he just casually name droppin MC PEE PANTS on this shiz! YOU NUMBER ONE IN THE HOOD, G.
AND he was a giant spider, the synergy is overwhelming
Great reference!
There is also a rapper named Schooly D who used to narrate earlier seasons
When you started correcting other "mistakes" during the now "infamous" Spider Fang Rant, and said "also I said Missy Elliot was the queen bee, but she's not, it's Lil Kim..." I busted out laughing fr. and WeirWood Teleportation is an amazing idea. blew my mind... Love bro.
I went as deadpan as I could lol
Great stream!
Just telling my wife about the sword Dawn, that it's supposed to have been forged from a meteor. She said it would have had to have been a meaty-ore to be suitable to be made into such a powerful sword
and how to temper such a meteor sword, made from a meaty ore? You have any fire-breathing meat-eaters around? MEAT EATOR bwahahaha
Great and entertaining stream! Ps was that a Luv Show, Ms. P* Pants reference? "I don't care what you call me just CALL ME!!"
What’s crazy is that I also referenced MC Pee Pants from Aquateen Hunger Force in the same stream. Didn’t know what “just called me” was even from actually so that’s wild
The pedants are out in force in the live chat in this one.
Edit:
And as far as the weirwood net, there is a real world basis for this, aspen trees form "clonal colonies" that consist of a single interconnected organism. The trees reproduce via root sprouts. The largest known colony is named Pando and is in Utah, USA it is estimated to be the heaviest and oldest living organism at 6 million kilos and 80 thousand years.
(Most of that I knew off hand but had to look up the stats and location of Pando)
Edit 2:
Forgot to mention, Pando covers an area of 106 acres.
I don’t know the stand but GRRM is a King fan I think
Great video again! You definitely have me thinking back on Mel and her vision of the Great Other. Mel sees the Great Other and his Champion. Of course Mel's visions are unreliable, but what if this vision is correct? Like, the Others are the manifestation of the fallen dreamers whom died and were added to the hive mind. And now theyre pissed at Blood Raven for trapping them in the Net. Love how this video made me think of something new, even though I'm wrong. Thanks!
Heart of Winter = North Pole
Heart of The Shadow = South Pole
Magnetic Energy = Magick
Woods Walkers in Essos connect with Shade of the Evening trees whereas the Children of the Forest connect through the Weirwoods. Two branches of children that sing the song of the earth, bringing balance through evolution and changing times.
Ice wondered about that too but we the shade trees are only ever mentioned at the HOTU. Still you could be right
Patchface is also (falsely) claimed to have had a gray child with a symbolic ice queen (Selyse).
Ohh call there John
Hey; tarantula keeper here; spiders do in fact have fangs.
I used to collect my tarantulas fangs when she would shed her exoskeleton.
sometime ago i liked to compare storms and lightning to ''sky dragons'' (kinda redundant but whatever), with the others being compared to mist maybe a living snowstorm could be an ''ice dragon''.
Nice ideas.
great stream! *spider emjoi*
one thought I had about bran, when he falls from the tower he suffers a near death experience, which seems to help him open his third eye, did this experience opened up the frozen/dead side of the weirwood net to Bran and maybe even its this particular fact that give Bran the ability to interact with the past or more specifically the dead, such as when Bran speaks to Ned causing Ned to react to his voice.
for wall we know Bran might even have actually died and the three eyes raven raised him from the dead.
adter all, what is dead can not die but rises again harder and stronger.

"so who are the conquerors?"
I can only think of one character titled conqueror. maybe you've heard of him. reigned about, oh, 300 or so years before the beginning of the story. had two sisters and wives (same people.) rode a dragon called the black dread. 😉
