In this video tutorial, you will learn how to calculate the rate of heat transfer between hot and cold working fluids of a heat exchanger. You will also learn how to calculate the mass flow rate of the working fluid, in order to achieve the desired outlet temperatures from the heat exchanger.

I have a question. If you have a pipe of certain length with running water. Only the last 2 meter is exposed to a fire that heats the water so that it exits the pipe with a temperature of 20⁰C higher than the inlet temperature. Pipe diameter is 22mm and flow rate is 0.06 litres/sec. How do you calculate energy since the water is flowing? Do you calculate in terms of time or in terms of volume?

Just a question: Suppose we have a hot plate and it's in contact with oil and another plate in a ratio of say 30:70 respectively (imagine a plate on a plate with oil grooves). How do we tackle heat transfer in this scenario?
