    Why Do We use Q=UA◇T Formula To decide surface area of heat exchangers, as this formula is used heat transfer by convection.
    But in heat exchanger there is conduction mode also present to transfer heat by thickness of pipe.
    And That A in above formula represent which surface area?
    Heat Transfer?

    Dear Amit,
    I am sure that LMTD for paralal flow equation is wrong. you used the equation which is applicable for Counter flow. but in case of paralal flow the LMTD will be (delT1+delT2)/2

      First convection then conduction through partition wall and then convection...

      Plate type can be of 3 kinds , parallel, counter, cross flow...
