Installing a LT2 C8 Intake Manifold on a 2017 Camaro

- On this episode of Inspiration Nation we'll be swapping on a LT2 C8 intake manifold on the 2017 Camaro featured in the Borla exhaust video. We took a quick trip to a local drag strip to do some test runs before the swap. After the swap is complete we will run the Camaro on the 1/8 mile drag strip again to compare numbers.

people watching this should know, if you buy the intake unmodified, a fitting for the brake booster needs to be installed in the back of the intake along with removal of some of the ribs on the bottom. If you buy the intake modified from a company like GPI, you have the option to add those mods to the part before it is shipped to you. Other than that good video.
Yes another viewer had already brought that to our attention and we did get the intake from a company that modifies them before selling

Did you keep the foam or fix it to fit under the manifold ?
The foam has to be modified to fit the lt2 intake, if you dont use that foam back, you'll probably hear some loud injectors noise inside the cabin.
What’s the torque specs on the manifold bolts (looks like 10scews)

Don't have to get a tune but you'll pickup more power if you do. Throttlebody is a direct bolt on.
How much HP gain was the LT2 intake with the Flex fuel kit
So no tune this setup gives 20 whp with no lean or rich issues on afr?
What are the torque specs?

We don't know yet that'll be on the next episode with the SS the track has closed up for the winter
Great video but you forgot the brake booster in the rear of the manifold. That's pretty important and how you have to shave the bottom for the high flow pump
I was thinking the same thing. Both super important. If you look at the intro, it looks like the brake booster fitting is already installed on the back.
How did you connect the pcv line did you cut anything from the stock line or just used the silicone wire ?
We used a new silicone line and connected the two together.
Nice, you should mention it’s not bought directly from the dealership/factory. Someone had to put the rear plug in to fit the vacuum line and hollow out a chunk on the bottom in order to fit right. It’s a great mod, I put one on with a 95mm and I ported the intake manifold . With a Katech 95 mm adapter, but be careful porting the neck it’s thin in places. Looking forward to your new times at the track.
Yeah I thought we had mentioned where it came from I'll make sure we put that in the description thanks. the track we go to has shut down for the winter unfortunately so as soon as they open back up we're going to update the times

We had originally planned on taking it back in the spring when the drag strip opened but unfortunately the owner sold the car.
Did you use the old gasket? I just ordered this intake and want to install it myself
We bought new gaskets for the runners but we did reuse the intake manifold gasket the car didn't have that many miles on it and it seemed to be in perfect shape like new

Did you have to shave the bottom down for it to fit ?
Yes if you order a factory one from GM it will have to be shaved to fit the one we used was already shaved and it had the brake booster port in the back

@@albertg968 I think Wilson manifold sells them for 800 already rest to built on to a lt1 but tbh ita lot cheaper to do it your self it would come out like 375 ish if you do it your self

@@albertg968 msd is like 1250 plus shipping and tax lt2 is you do the install your self ita like 400 you only need like 2 parts that's lkke 40 bucks each and shave the bottom

No we replaced the gaskets but we did reuse the throttle body gasket
would this be ok to do on a leased camaro?
Tune required?
No, but always recommended in case there are any gremlins you haven't discovered yet 👍
