  • This performance was the first time I saw the Goo Goo Dolls on tv. It was 1999 and I was 12 years old.
I was on vacation for a cousins wedding. At that time my other cousin owned a record store, so we went to check it out. I told him I liked this song and he helped me find the Dizzy Up The Girl record. With my new CD and then seeing this performance, I was hooked for life.
My love of music exploded from this point on, I started playing guitar and piano, and creating art. It was a really special and formative time in my life.
The influence of this band on my life cannot be measured, it's in my dna now

I love your description! I was 13 when I fell in love with the band!! Technically 12, because I absolutely fell in love with I’m Still Here the summer before turning 13. They have impacted me so much! I’ve been starting to learn guitar because of them too. Man, John’s songwriting (and Robby’s definitely too!) is special.

@@oceans_of_color I do too! There’s so many people that have said “The goos music saved my life” and that’s really inspiring.
They’re really talented in not being all generic in their music

Absolutely horrendous video and audio quality….but it doesn’t even matter :o) Thanks for posting and for the interesting story of seeing them for the first time. I was in my 20s at the time but regardless of age it was a cool era for all of us.

@@michaellong7136 I wish I had a way to improve the quality from these old tapes, but yea, it's nice to bring back a little piece of nostalgia from that time
