#TheMazeRunner #Thomas
I wish the rest of the movies were actually good because as someone who read the books first I actually enjoyed this movie despite it's inaccuracies
They were good
Yeah same
I watched the first movie then the books, was surprised to find quite a lot of inaccuracies
Yeah i think every book fan agrees with you. Book is better, but movie is still good in a different way. Did a great job of creating Greivers.
But the rest of the movies went too far off the books, made me mad
I actually think the movie is a pretty solid adaptation. Yes, it’s not exactly the same as the book, but I think the movie captured most of its essences perfectly. And I honestly think the movie is doing a better job letting us care about the characters. Like I think Gally was just an asshole all along in the book, but I kinda sympathize him in the film. (but Thomas is still Thomas lol
Every time I see this movie I can't help but think about how I'd be the first to die if I was there, I can't keep running for more than a minute without almost dying out of breath
stop vaping then
Thats how i feel about every movie that requires running or any kind of survival skill
Jk
nah if ur in a situation like that where ur gonna die if u slow down trust me you won’t, ur gonna keep running
I love running and have awesome stamina- i would die tho
Definitely one of the most intense scenes ever. They were incredibly close to dying especially Thomas. They played the roles perfectly I think.
😂
I love how in the movies the walls are much smaller. 4 mile high walls is just ridiculous. With the 150 foot walls it really makes you feel like your trapped because you can see the top of the walls so easily the maze felt like it was much better designed in the movies with it being a circle aswell.
In the books, the walls aren't actually 4 mile high. The chips in the kids' brains puts suggestions that make them THINK they are 4 mile high, if not more
@@C0METSHADE-2also it being under ground as well made it so there really was no other way out
Besides remember how newt climbed halfway up, and how Thomas strapped alby up there?
@@claskie36 in the books it’s shown that the mazes were actually underground so even if you did climb up the only way out was the griever hole
@@thund3r94 wait I just finished third book and they go DOWN the griever hole while saving the immunes, then there are stairs leading up to the wicked hq
I thought this movie series was REALLY good, even though it differed from the books, it ended up being a really good retelling of the story and had arguably a better ending.
I honestly enjoyed both endings of the series ❤️
Have you read all the books? What book would you recommend (not necessarily in order)?
@@opheliawinfrey9501 you should probably read it in order because otherwise you will be hella confused
@Ophelia Winfrey
1st time reading: The Maze Runner, The Scorch Trials, The Death Cure, The Kill Order, The Fever Code, Crank Palace
Any other time: The Kill Order, The Fever, The Maze Runner, The Scorch Trials, The Death Cure, The Crank Palace
The first time is how they were made. To the story line the second time is how it actually goes. Although I always like to reread it like the first time!
Hope this helps!
@@madisonlevine2519 Late reply but.. thank you for your help! I screenshot your comment for future reference. 😀😊
Being older now I think it would be interesting to see "the kill order" made into a movie. It's technically a prequel to this story and it is dark as it covers how the flare came about and the scorch...don't wanna say to much in case people haven't read it. I recommend it.
Do you recommend reading it first?
No, not really. It’s kinda it’s own thing but it’s still fun to read.
Kill Order was an amazing book. Ending was literal chills.
@@opheliawinfrey9501 I think you should read it but you don't have to read it before the other books. It has different characters as it's set before but totally worth the read.
@@unusualraidz9924 I guess everyone will see it differently. I just found connections as I read it. The biggest one at the end.
I was Grade 7 when I first watched this movie. I am second year college now but still watching. And I am pretty sure I will still watch this because it never gets old.
Books are better.
@@ls-zy9so i was a victim to the same microanalysis of the movie compared to the book so i didnt enjoy the second.
Are we the same person? I also watched it first when i'm in about 7th grade and now i'm in my second year of college😭 cheers, gladers!
Damn I was in 4 grade now finna graduate highschool 😂
@@BlackDiamond2718 I'm one of the few people here, who actually red the books before ever watching the movies, and I've got to say, I've liked the movies better.
This movie never gets old❤️

@@15KOfficialCamzYT2 if you read the books you’d enjoy the movies more
@@taquitobandito6054 actually no the movies do an extremely poor job of following the books. It’s almost like they’re two different stories.
@@dawson1787 but they are still good in a different way
I went into this movie with absolutely no spoilers, everything was being introduced for the first time. The anxiety of being trapped within huge stone walls and sign of hopes here and there worked like magic. I truly hadn't experienced anything like this before, in other movies what they usually do is either they make protagonist overpowered or they create a hopeless and extremely scary environment. This one had everything in a perfect balance. 2/3rd of the movie from the starting to the point where teresa showed up in the box was near to a masterpiece, after that the whole series was literal display of 'ah shit here we go again'. Finding a cure in zombie apocalypse, yeah that's something very new to me 🙄. That being said Minho is my favourite, actually he is the maze runner not thomas.
I would read the books if you haven’t already, it’s not supposed to be a zombie apocalypse but crazy people that feel like they can still be saved, plus scorch trials and death cure are totally different in the books then the movies, even the first one has some differences
The movies are an alegory for the mind. Greek hero stories are all talking about this, not to mention other Hollywood movies. Wisdom and understanding.
When you come to know new truths, doors wil open. If not, you stay stuck in your old ways and get 'stuck' and get killed.
A Griever can "sting", or prick them, which causes extreme pain for up to days or weeks. This is a state of anxiety and/or depression. Also told in the old Testament when 'Egypt' was attacked.
Locusts for example are tormentors for the mind.
John the baptist 'ate' locusts, i.e he ate them for breakfast/to be able to very easily control or defeat someone.

"Nice pep talk"
"Yeah, we're all bloody inspired"
The only movie that used a little common sense of if something is falling at you move to the side not run in a straight line🤣
I love the series. I never read the books yet, but it is on my reading list. Dylan is such an amazing actor. he can play anything.
@@ShankyGirl. I don’t think it sucked. I love the movies. I wish they did more.
@@ginacaparotta7971 hmmmmm, i mean i habe only seen parts of the movies so i guess, idk. I mean they dont seem that bad, i javint seen all the movies, i habe only seen parts of them. I still realy like the books though. I would jave to watch the movies to see. Idk.
@@ShankyGirl. "acurite" is that even a word?
@@z.a.y.n-5053 well sorry shuck face i didint realize my spelling was that bad, slint head🙄
dude better not to read the books...cause by the time u reach the third ..u ll be like wtf did i even begin reading this..i mean movie did a greater job compared to book for the first time...
Bring movies like this back please. I had such a good time watching maze runner and hunger games with my husband.
Tbh irl u know how good of shape u have to be in because they didn’t cover small ground they was running their own top speed for like 13 min lol
Yeah lol but its not just like your out for a nice morning jog, they were literally running for their lives. Adreniles gonna give u alot more energy
@@laurenengels4849 it also removes your bodies limits. Iirc at most times your using 10-20% of your muscles max strength or something like like that
They couldn't be running for 13 minutes 'coz it's a movie and there would be a freakin' lot of cuts
@@bluebird4732 LMAO 😐😐😐
@@wolflordlewis2276 crazy fact is that if we actually used our muscles to full strength. We would literally tear them from the tendons and bones.
its not just they “survived” they literally SOLVED the maze!! 👏🏻✨
Both the movies and the books are great in different ways, definitely enjoyed both
Really jarring to read the book, then watch the movie, as the book describes the area as a massive indoor space with artificial sunlight
I can somehow keep coming back to this movie and enjoying it over and over again
Same here. One of the best films of 2014.
Good old times bro
Low-key one of the best YA novel movie adaptations ever
I'm one of the minority of people who LOVE this movie franchise! This one is the most suspenseful, the 2nd one is the most fun, and the third...well we don't talk about the third lol. But love these guys!
The third one is the most epic finale ever dude
@Student Student respectfully disagree. It's hard to explain, but the third was just missing something. Maybe it was thr writing, maybe some things were a little anti-climactic, idk. It just didn't have the same feel. Maybe I should try watching it a third time lol
The maze is far more interesting than well... zombies. The mystery is what make The Maze Runner the most compelling and the truth behind that mystery is kinda underwhelming.
Am i the only that just recently remembered this trilogy as absolutely amazing?
personally, I think it got weaker the more they release it, I thought the 3rd was kinda meh even tho it has some amazing moments
Yes. Everyone was critical of the second and third but I actually really enjoyed them. I'm not even in the targeted age group
Yup me
@@jasonalv7436 same aswell
The action sequences in this movie are some the coolest I’ve ever seen
Best trilogy of books turned into movies imo🙌🏼🙌🏼🔥🔥🔥
I honestly hope that a (MAZE RUNNER) show series might get made someday.
Now I think with a (MAZE RUNNER) show series it could be possible to have most of the main books stories introduced properly in it, and show all of the best parts of those important details from the books stories so that it could make some small amount of sense, and not only that enjoy it more.
it would honestly be better as a show series. like every season is a different book. also you'd see more of the maze then in the movie! I think it's a great idea
Man, Kill Order was so insane for me since it was the origin of the virus. Death Cure showed us the true stakes of their actions. Scorch Trials threw them into the outside wrld. But it all started with the first test.
they could focus on the other mazes
i was obsessed with tmr as a kid, think it's about time i rewatch the movies (and maybe read the books) the first one will always be the best movie
The visuals in all of these movies were really well done.
No one will change my mind the first Maze runner movie is the best one
Boy, the other 2 must be really bad then.
@@arthurramirez2221 it isn’t they were bad. It’s that I liked the first better
@@arthurramirez2221 The other 2 didn't really have that same vibes as the first one, IMO. They're not bad but its just decent i'd say. I definitely reccomend to read the books if you want more story.
Well probably because this one have the most interesting concept, a mysterious maze with unknown purpose and you have to survive it. The other 2 is basically zombie apocalypse with some twist.
times flies too fast
and the crazy thing,in the books both mazes were underground
Wow. I never read the books but I know that the girls were in an ice maze that had a vertical ascent. But that’s interesting.
One of the best and most underrated movies of all time.
I really like the first one. But, the second and third didn't feel right to me. I read the book series and let me tell you this, it's pretty different in terms of plot.
What's the storyline in the books????
@@palash9504 I can't explain that much of the story because I'm not good at explaining things. Plus, the story is long even though the book series is 3. You can read the books if you want to.
2nd and 3rd didnt have that mystery like this one
I didn't like 2 or 3 since it changed so drastically plus I agree with Cactus that it did not try to invoke mystery to keep you interested.
@@BlackDiamond2718 also its called maze runner but in 2 and 3 there is no maze
They really are true friends
Now i want to rewatch TMR all over again
One of the best surviving genre movie.
While of course the movies and books are different. I enjoyed both a lot
4:16 FINALLY someone who did not sit there and scream until someone saved them
Minho: "You sure about this?"
Thomas: ✨️ "No." *Proceeds to go anyway* ✨️
These guys can run tho.
I love all three films, even though they got less book-accurate as they continued. However, they’re very good films, still with the survival soul of the books.
These guys could audition for the next Mission: Impossible series.
I remember trying to recreate this scene in the Roblox version of The Maze Runner, cause this scene is so epic
This first Maze Runner movie is the best out of all the other three.
I will never forget this movie
same brother
Nether will I. I've gained so much by watching it and analyzing it. Honestly it should be studied in cinematography and writing classes so that future generation can learn what not to do when story telling. It's good to learn from the mistakes of others.
@@arthurramirez2221 yeah absolutely.
I have seen this movie more then 20 times in the couple years and I can vouch this movie just never gets old but the 2nd n 3rd were just random to the 1st one
I LOVE MINHO😍
I love this trilogy
This makes me feel that the maze is alive
Am I the only one getting Maze Runner recommendations out of no where?
Yeah
The 1st Maze runner will always be Perfect
This trilogy was dark and EPIC.
What I love most in this movie were the runnings
My All time favorite series
Hunger Games, Divergent, and Maze Runner are trinity of movies

Honestly i loved this trilogy even if the 2nd and 3rd movie didn't follow the books it was a good watch and it was enjoyable.

My imagination of Minho was exactly how I pictured him, just thought he would have a lil more muscle😂
There was a couple of Asian actors in there, I was only 18
What Indiana Jones movies used to feel like!
I think a maze runner remake would be so dope like how they did with Percy Jackson
Miss this movie

i know it's going to sound like the cliche "why aren't movies made like this anymore" but it does feel like dystopian movies in the 2010s just had a much better feel to them if anyone knows what I mean

100% better than the books the movies are (read from start)
Watched this when i was 21 now im about to be 29 yikes. Good ol teen wolf dylan o brian days
1:45 this thing that Thomas and Minho found It from Griever's corpse Is look alike Anakin Skywalker's Lightsaber
This makes me feel AOT can be adapted nicely if done correctly
Love this
wish the other two had this same feel to the movies.

I first watching this film by the recommendation from my older brother , we watch it together and enjoyed it .
I watch it again today alone , those were some good memories.
