@@wyattchandler6359 In a more sudden normal life or death situation I can agree with that argument. But the dude has been living in a giant death maze trapped in the middle for years now. Hes also been running it and mapping it for a long time now and has long since understood the risks. But again I do feel what you're saying is a fair point. I just think it's silly he was willing to risk his life to save his friend only to give up on the prospect moments later already having killed himself anyways from his perspective. Couldn't live with himself before leaving him for dead, but now he can? Idk. Fun to over-think though lol
@@madezra64 alright yeah I get how it would seem kinda silly. But look at it from his perspective. Minho is trapped in the maze, a very rare and terrifying occurrence, with a greenie and his friend who is basically dead already. The guy was already wavering but still stayed to try and get Alby safe until Minhos fear and/or survival instincts took over. And Alby was pretty high up there when he ran so it was really just Thomas he was leaving but they also hadn't bonded yet.
@@madezra64 well in the book the Grievers are near and he knows that they have no chance so he left because he new one one would survive and he tried to pull Alby because maybe he could get him out but once he got stuck in the maze they we screwed
@@wyattchandler6359 In the book Minho states after he and Thomas make it back to the Glade that he finally just gave up. He snapped, and fell back on his only instinct which was to run.
I like it how they did this scene in the movie better than the books. In the book it was just Thomas looking in and he sees Minho carrying Alby. Then as Thomas yells for Newt, Newt comes running back over. Newt has a bad leg so he doesn’t make it, but as he’s coming over he says “DONT YOU BLOODY DO IT GREENIE” and Thomas goes in last second.
The movie has the whole group cheering and stuff which makes it more epic when Thomas runs in

The second Thomas went from a 2 star character to a 5 star character when he met Minho
Minho is a beast and probably my favourite of the Gladers, but I really hated how he grabbed Thomas and called him “Shukface”. But can you blame him? He knows the maze better than everyone else. He’s been running it for 3 years, knows it like the back of his hand and is stuck with a friend that’s pretty much doomed. Thomas has just arrived and is asking where they can hide Alby when there really isn’t a place to. He can’t imagine the horror of being trapped in there when surviving the night is highly unlikely and having to accept your fate.
I love Minho now, but it took me a while to like him in the beginning.

Sawing this movie in the theatre was an experience, it left and will forever leave a stamp on me.
Exactly... especially the ending, didn't expect it and it was so intense and scary
Minho is so badass. I always loved his introduction to the film, looking all cool and intimidating. Don't get me wrong, I love Thomas and him running into the maze looked super cool, but Minho was always the expert when it came to the maze. So when he loses his temper and goes "Take a look around. There. Is. Nowhere. To. Go!" I thought he was so validated for that moment. And no one talks about it enough! Look at it from his perspective for a sec: He's facing pretty much a confirmed death and this Greenie comes in offering dumb ideas like "MinHO jUsT ThINk! WhErE sHoUlD wE HiDe HiM??" like bro, you're already dead. Stop talking about things that you don't understand. If Minho knew a place to hide Alby he would have done that already. There's no point anymore. Tensions are running high and this Greenbean literally just came in here to kill himself. NO ONE had survived the night in the maze prior to this, so excuse Minho for reacting the way he did and succumbing to fear. Still, him losing his temper was super cool. I liked the way it was portrayed.

We need movies like this back with excellent OSTs and syncing. OSTs are one of the core bread and butters of a film. This is an iconic scene.
Man the details they put in the movie is masterpiece!!! They dont make these types of movies anymore. The Maze design and the survival tactic looks elite. And the Emotions they put in this movie is just on another level💥. Especially Chucks death 💔
It's a great adaptation, the only thing I disliked was how they (from what I remember anyway) simplified the puzzle of the Maze itself, but what they wrote was alot easier for an audience to understand so this is fair enough. The sequels were also pretty good despite straying quite far from the books in parts.

@@athinaraftopoulos4609 There’s books for everything (but yes), personally realllyy enjoyed them, Death Cure in particular is the most different to the movies, there’s honestly a lot of differences throughout the series, it’s a good read

Alby was his friend. He didn't drop him before the maze closed because he thought he could get him out. After it closed Minho didn't think they had a chance of survival and wanted to leave him so they could stand a better chance. It's not that unreasonable for him to change his plans like that.

Both films and books after the first were great but we really needed more MAZE runner.
