Well done Derek, you got closer to the truck than us great unwashed did when it visited Belfast. I think most viewers miss the point of the Cybertruck. Elon said that he wanted to build a truck that was like no other and that he wanted to future to finally look like the future. Cybertruck ticks both boxes, unlike the rest of the Tesla range, its immediately recognisable and needs no logo, badging or signage to herald its arrival. The greatest achievement of the Cybertruck remains unseen. With true steer by wire enabled by 48v architecture and a complete new method of construction it’s the underlying technology that’s the real coup with the potential to further change manufacturing processes and lower costs that will benefit us all. Manufacturing costs will fall as production ramps up and just like the iPhone was prohibitively expensive in 2007 when it was launched, the same device is now ubiquitous and in the hands of primary school aged children. After a couple of years of production, no one will look twice at the Cybertruck. The genius and sheer utility of the thing are mostly unnoticed, it’s already a design icon yet it’s smaller than an L3 Ford Transit. Do delivery drivers struggle with the size of a transit delivering to every hole in every hedge in the country? Love it or not, there’s no ignoring it perhaps that’s the whole point of it?
Damm I missed it then. When was it in Belfast ?
Thanks for the comment and thoughts. Have to agree with you
Very cool, but I'll hold onto my Wildtrak for another while. Don't think I would get much work driving onto site in a Cybertruck 😂
Was thinking the same...or trying to get it into our 1970's car parking spaces when you are out getting lunch. I'd say you will see the very odd one covered in livery. There are a few F-150's driving around near me. I thought they were not legal but they must be as they have D reg'es.
@justinmeighan9683 I dread to think how much a full tank of "gas" costs for thr F150 🙈
Looks better up close, my query, other than safety issues, is a lot of electrical parts that could fail without mechanical back up. Given quality issues to date, that would be a real question re longevity of owning one.
Great question. Like any EV, reliance on mechanical parts is at a minimum and Tesla takes this a step further with Steer By Wire. Only time will tell.
Aircraft levels of redundancy on critical systems like steer and brakes.
I think is the first preview this side of the Atlantic, or at least in our islands. Great.
What I like is Tesla have made a genuine and innovative attempt to reimagine this sort of vehicle. Once you get inside it I do not like the Tesla as mobile iPad, but I have hated that since it was introduced for all their cars. What I really like is the high spec off road stuff and the new way of looking at a pickup truck’s external features. It looks as if it could do a real on farm job. I expect the price is going to be a disappointment.
Thanks Paul. Price in the US (for those who got to order it) was $80k to $100k
Thanks for the review, Derek. I popped in on Tuesday and Wednesday. It seems the staff in there were fed up of it, or at least those coming to see it by the Wednesday. On the Tuesday they'd raise or lower the suspension or the tailgate, no problem. The next day, though, they wouldn't do anything. The tailgate and tonneau cover remained closed, the suspension down. They just sat behind their desks trying to hawk test-drives of the MY/M3, but not entertaining many questions about the Cybertruck itself. Just after the commission, I guess. CT got us in the door, but that's not what they were trying to sell (which is fair enough considering it's not going to be for sale here).
Disappointing, all the same.
Sorry to hear this Brian 😕
In all fairness; who the hell is going to buy one of these in Ireland?? A completely pointless experiment by a billionaire. It's a ridiculous looking thing, only suitable for a "Team America: World Police" type movie.......or to satisfy an ego. Can't imagine many farmers pulling up to the Mart on a Monday in one of these with an Ifor Williams on the back, or a yummy mummy doing the school run 🙄🤣....rant over Derek.....the world is gone mad😂
Thanks John. It'll never make it to Ireland, just a talking point for this week.
@@NevoEVReviewIrelandit’s a promo for the Model 3/Y financing plus a tease for the design language of the CyberCab
Thanks for the review Derek, will pop up and have a look in the metal.
Definitely something you won't see everyday
I don't like it, but I don't think it's designed to be likeable. I think it's more along the lines of a Humvee, it's designed to be dominant on the road and to keep people distant enough that they can't tell you're compensating for something.
🤣🤣🤣
Go on then, ill listen to your impressions because we love you
Thanks!
It’s mental and very cool looking but more of a curiosity than practical? Got an email about the Cork showing so might drop in just for the wow factor.
Hi, when and where will it be in Cork please?
Nice if you could afford it. Thanks for reviewing, about as close as I will get. On other matters have you ever reviewed the Nissan Leaf SV 40kw? Windsor seem to be doing a mad offer of €25k for a brand new 2024 reg. Thats €10k off. Wheres the catch? Lol. Any insight into the model of car?
Review coming in the next 7 days! Entry level version coming in at 21,995!
@@NevoEVReviewIreland heard that it's end of life now. And the charge port is obsolete? Selling last of the stock. MG4 is also reduced. 4k extra off. 26k now for basic.
I think its bloody good cheers mate
Some do and some don't
@@NevoEVReviewIreland It's different
Wow 😮
It's definitely that
I wish it could’ve been in Dublin for at least two more days, away on holidays atm and come back to Dublin on the 16th, so the only option is Cork which is just way too far to drive for an hour ish walk around of the truck. Really nice review though!
We’ll definitely add a Camper CT to the Seaweed & Saltwater rental fleet. Our Tesla Y car campers are already a big hit with our foreign guests on their Wild Atlantic Way road trip adventures.
Video coming soon!
They didint let anyone into it while
I was there, how come you were allowed?
I review their models so maybe because I was going to do a video?
Oh, I'd love to see it parked outside a lidl to see how it fits / looks! 😂
That would be cool!
Or inside!
Love to see it trying to get into Tallaght Hospital multi story.
Anytime one of those would be parked in a standard, lined car park (in Ireland).....it would render the spots on either side useless.
3 space vehicle.
Fuck it......all the way back from whence it came.
@@06youngerit’s narrower than a Range Rover
@@stuartmchugh1754 they shouldn't be allowed on the roads either 🙄.......how long is the Cyberfuck I wonder??
Will you have it at the next NEVO show lol so I can puke on it?
🤣🤣🤣 not confirmed for the show
I think I have heard that the size of a Cybertruck is smaller than the Transit Van
Depending on the wheelbase of the transit
@@NevoEVReviewIreland Yes
There’s one down the road from me, an assault on the eyes! To each his own, I think elon is taking the piss with this, the new Silverado or Lightening are actually useful.
#munsterrugby
I'm really eager to see the Silverado's
Better than the model 2 for the US its a proper halo model not just a golf competitor
Not for me. The more i see it the less it ofends me. Now i know what car designers do.
Thanks

Hello mate
Evening
Hello Derek 👋
Hi 👋🏻
He loves stating his height in his videos 😅
🤣🤣🤣 I stopped for one video and guess what question I was asked in the comment......Some people only watch one video.
You could get it printed on your shirt and they could see it in every video lol
Elon musk cybertruck/clive sinclair c5.
It will definitely, come to the European market but not until the end of 2028 or early 29
Do you think? I thought with safety regs it wouldn't
@@NevoEVReviewIrelandwhat about it doesn’t pass safety reg? The only part I can see is the rear upper corners being sharp but have you ever been reversed into by an Amazon van?
@@NevoEVReviewIreland obviously they’re gonna have to make a few changes but the reason I reckon that timeframe is because it’s gonna take around that time until they get all the pre-orders out cause they’re currently only at 50% production
Hopefully that never happens and maybe Tesla go bust by then or at least have to stop building this monstrosity.
John DeLorean would approve.
No he would not. At least the Delorean looked cool and still does and was not an oversized monstrosity like this thing is.
Hi Derek,
I've paused at 5 secs ......and respectfully, I won't be watching this video. I love your content but this is in protest more against Tesla/eLon.
This vehiclei is not suitable for the Irish market .....and has already proved itself to be dangerous.
I look forward to your next video.
Regards,
Keith.
Not coming to Europe I think so just some publicity for the brand but I appreciate the comment and see you next video
Dang, that is one UGLY car
Beauty in the eye of the beholder
@@NevoEVReviewIrelandits rotten
Is an F150 beautiful?
@@stuartmchugh1754 nope, F150 is butt ugly too (and usually wasted on its owners)
, but, its functional and lacks the multitude of quality issues experienced by Cybertruck owners. I love most EVs, but not this.
That's an embarrassment.
Thanks
Dear dog, that is ugly. Designed by the Tron team?
Definitely divisive
😂 "I'm looking for a car with 3 isofix" yeah this isnt a carrl or for sale in the continent, this is top gear levels of consumer advice
You know I was joking right. I actually point people to the Citroën eBerlingo or Mercedes EQB.🤣
CT will never get past EU certification so why are they bothering to show it in Ireland? IMHO CT is a vanity project that looks like it was designed by a 7yo using spare cardboard boxes, not exactly a car anybody would desire to own, more embarrassed to drive one. But I appreciate the north american fixation with pickup trucks which this doesn't even look like. Interior looks ultra cheap. As every touch screen mania brings the quality way down.
After WW2, the USA trucks were very popular in Europe, so much so that their presence threatened to undermine the recovery of European manufactured vehicles. Look up ‘Chicken tax.’ For a fuller explanation.
That's got to be the ugliest vehicle ever designed.
Some love it, some hate it
A joke car. Ridiculous.
