I don’t have this exact model, but I recently purchased a Brunswick Mineralite rubber ball, and it has quickly become my favorite spare ball. When I first got it, I took it to my local bowling alley and put it to the test, doing five games with it and a couple house balls as my spares. Shot a 150 with it, and got a 105 average of five games. Compared to my AMF Angle, it has a lot of ground to make up, but it’s a great spare and good for straight shots
Totally love this video! Great job producing it and great respect for the legend Ned Day. In his career Ned Day Achieved: -83 perfect 300 games. -On two separate occasions he bowled 33 strikes in a row. -In 1939 Ned Day won a tournament with an 834 three game series, scoring games of 300-276-258. -Day won the all-events championship in 1948 with a score of 1,979 for nine games. -Day was bowler of the year in 1943 and 1944. -He was the BPAA match play champion winning consecutively from 1938 through 1942. -Day carried a 200-pin average in 28 years of ABC competition. I would love to see a future video of the Brunswick Emerald Crown Jewel. The incomparable Mike Totsky, maybe the greatest Full Roller to ever throw a ball, used one.
It does help at times, but can get me into trouble depending on what the conditions are. I've always enjoyed the power game from the late 80s and early 90s. My Style was developed on the short oil era of the game.
@@KingOfTVBowling Thank you. Do you feel that a lower rev, non full roller bowler, can still strike with these balls today, or would these balls be "iffy" as strike balls, at least on fresh house shots, for exampke?
We did and will be rereleasing the footage again here shortly. We have been forced to restructure footage at the moment to adjust to RUclips's new policy. It's currently available on our Facebook page in the meantime at fb.watch/ezsLKFA3P5/
Great video! I wish we could go back to rubber balls, make the sport more of a challenge again. I’ve always wondered why balls back then were always drilled with the thumb hole on top and the finger holes on bottom?
Next up the ebonite gyro please. I bought mine a k-mart and had it drilled and inserts put in at the local pro- shop. Rolled a 290 with it. Spare in the first, then 11 in a row. Then the first 3 strikes in the 2nd game.
Standard house shot, The ball has next to no core from what I've been told. Solid rubber contributed by the Jackson Family. Was told this ball could have possible connections to PBA charter member Rudy Fassl.
This ball is 80 plus years young. It Didn't even have a scratch on it after we finished. These balls were made to be durable, they definitely don't make them like this anymore.
Oh agreed, yeah it's definitely not going to hook. Pretty hard shelled ball for sure, I was under the impression when you mentioned " it wont last" meaning it would crack or fall apart. No worries at all, Im actually surprised how well it did hit on a few shots. Thanks for viewing and being a fan. We appreciate it.

I love the way this ball goes so straight! It's like a laser guided missile.
Lol don’t have to worry about it hooking that’s for sure. It’s a granite boulder, Lol
Pin action is interesting with that ball
Zero core all rubber. You get what you hit so to speak, lol thanks for viewing.

Great suggestion!
My dad used his from post WWII into the 70s when he finally modernized to a Crown Jewel and later a LT48.
Sounds like my old man, he swore by that ball well into 80s
Wow! Late 30s! What a rare find!
I have a black Mineralite form the late 40s
Question: You appear to strike at will no matter what "relic" you're bowling with! Is it your rev rate that helps with this?

Didn't you use to have a Ned Day vs. Glenn Allison vid on your channel?

@@KingOfTVBowling Thank you! I will check it out.
"RUclips's New Policy"👎🤦♂

Good question!
My grandpa's mineralite was drilled the same way, maybe it's so you can read the label while holding it
No plastic balls?
82 years old woww. Lmao your hardest hits are when it backs up in the middle.
The original "brick".
Yet there is alot of AMF
I had a mineralite garage sale find when I was 12. Those things didn’t chip.
Playing with three holes and full tip!?! That's cheating. :))) I liked the black and white part.

Can i do a review of this on Bowling Science? I love this!
😃 Get the hell outta here 😀. Did they mop 12' of oil on that lacquer for ya? Way to get it to wrinkle once! What grave did you dig up for this thing??

@@KingOfTVBowling hahaha pull it out in league! Honestly, that thing would make an awesome spare ball.
Kind of weak ass shit but still struck.
Literally zero core ultra hard rock . Any speed and it skates , lol thx for viewing 👍🏻
That ball wont last on the updated lanes of day haha

@@KingOfTVBowling hey my dad had one of those balls I dont think it would hook on the oil patterns that we use today just saying
