Ornatas are terrible. I had to use one for a year, and switching to my Anne pro 2 has been a life changing experience. Razer as a company is doing pretty well but I don't know who in their right mind would ever want to buy an Ornata willingly

My Razer Ornata v1 started malfunctioning couple days ago, some buttons don't click, and stuck. Still big props for Razer, cause it happened exactly after 3 years of hardcore using (spilling shit all over it, smashing, throwing etc). I'm thinking of buying this V2 one, or Blackwidow Elite, and honestly endurance is my biggest concern. Razer is the best!
I own the Ornata Chroma…. The keyboard is unlike any other membrane keyboard that I have used in the past…. The hybrid switches are unique and I have used it for many different small tournaments on Unreal…. I love the tactility of the switches! It’s unique! And the best part? It doesn’t really scream gaming keyboard, it looks simplistic but just with chroma lighting…. The Hypershift portion is incredible, I have programmed four keys to me macros and I had been recently killing the competition! I can’t double tap which is bad because I double tap to Dash, but I have firm control over my character while I move…. I would give it 9/10 IMO because I grew up with membrane switches, I absolutely love mechanical switches as well! And for Razer to combine both worlds together is amazing!!!! Well done!
I think the way Razer markets is so compelling. This ad is really good. But the price is too steep for a mecha-membrane. You can easily get real mechanical switches on a nice board with that amount of money.
@@crisiumhd8956 It is not good. You have clearly never tried a real mechanical switch. The Ornata is really mushy and cheap. The sound is horrible too. The build quality is mediocre. Razer's products are overpriced for what they are. I would advise against getting the Ornata V2. For the same price, you could get the Cooler Master CK530, which has Cherry MX switches and a metal (not plastic) body.
I remember having the Ornata for a week to test it out. I bought it for the extremely good RGB Lighting and also because I didn't like mechanical keyboards at the time. mecha membrane was supposed to be a compromise. I sent it back because quite honestly it wasn't worth it. felt more membrane to me, cheap and just not up to pair with blackwidow 2 and my now current huntsman elite.

To all wondering THIS IS NOT A MEMBRANE KEYBOARD. Even tho construcion is similar, and for sure it ain't mechanical, it feels very different from membrane, and clicks are way faster.
Quick note to those who want to buy this: cons: -The keys are pretty heavy to press. i used the v1 for a looong time and now that i passed it on to my girlfriend she can't use it to type long messages because the switches is to hard and hurt her hands. -It has rattly keys, mostly the space bar but the other keys like backspace and enter is pretty noisy too. -The stabilisers used on the bigger keys are not lubeable (or atleast to my knowledge) so its hard to remove the rattling. -The feet are really slippy so when i played games it just slides away (hope they fixed this for v2) -Its so bent omg. the whole v1 i owned was so bent i needed a mousepad under it to keep it from wobbeling Pros: - A really well priced keyboard. Cheap -Keycaps feel like PBT plastic meaning that the letters are not going to rubb off. -Has really really good backlighting. the RGB backlighting is what i miss the most about when i owned it. it is really nice and its not shining bright it's more like a good glow. -The wrist rest is probably the best i have ever felt, its really soft. I removed it later on because i didn't like how low profile the keyboard got when the rest was attached. Things i hope they improved: -Wobbling -rattly space bar -the weight of the key press And razer if you by any means read this oomg plis for the love of god make a bigger and improved goliathus... the extended is so small in depth, it has BIG bumps along the edges and the rbg does not work right. it only shines in the top left corner and half way on both sides it just fades away. Lmao i don't know why i am typing this no one cares but hey if u made it this far. gz ur a cool person who cares about keyboards

only problem that thid keyboard has is the sound frequencies when getting used. Keys will sound different from each other if the switch clicking mechanism wears out lol
i just bought myself an ornata chroma too :c feel ya, but i dont think theres much difference between the two. Just added macro keys, still same switch, and same wrist rest. I dont think we are in real bad situation. Just press FN and use F keys instead of a few macro keys and we are done, right? Hope we are.
I just bought the Razer Ornata chroma and the Razer DeathAdder expert and they made a v2 that its not that expensive but I don’t have the money to buy them but very good product I teste them out yesterday and they are the best mouse and keyboard I ever bought I can’t imagine how good are the v2
The keyboard does have it's market. Just small. The point of the "Mecha-Membrane" switches is to combine the tactile feel of a mechanical with the comfort of a membrane. This keyboard wasn't designed to be competitive. Of course, a Mechanical keyboard would whoop the Ornata's ass. Heck, this keyboard even has media functions. It's just a flashy and comfortable device that can be used while gaming without going full-membrane and keeping a tiny bit of the performance. The original Ornata is also a Membrane. So if you use mechanical switches in this it wouldn't be called the "Ornata" anyway. Though I agree the price point is too high. It should be about 60-70 dollars.
Don't, the switches and build quality of this keyboard are bad, with the other plane optical switch keyboards from razer being very loud and overpriced when compared to regular mechanical keyboards at or bellow that price range. I would recomend looking more at keyboard youtubers videos, and then deciding what keyboard you would want to get.
Buy a huntsman if you're getting a razer keyboard. The TE is nice, and the switches are better than the ones found in other keyboards, only problem is if you are a hard typer you might hear a pinging noise from the stabilizers, although I've never had that issue myself.
so many people try roasting razer, i cant speek for them 10 years ago butr now at least they are good. i use mostly razer gear but ive had alot of other brands before but razer has been my fav at least on keyboard and mouse.

Don't, the switches and build quality of this keyboard are bad, with the other plane optical switch keyboards from razer being very loud and overpriced when compared to regular mechanical keyboards at or bellow that price range. I would recomend looking more at keyboard youtubers videos, and then deciding what keyboard you would want to get.
Buy a huntsman if you're getting a razer keyboard. The TE is nice, and the switches are better than the ones found in other keyboards, only problem is if you are a hard typer you might hear a pinging noise from the stabilizers, although I've never had that issue myself.

so many people try roasting razer, i cant speek for them 10 years ago butr now at least they are good. i use mostly razer gear but ive had alot of other brands before but razer has been my fav at least on keyboard and mouse.
Does the forward, skip and play button doesn't have lighting in it? Cause I'm not sure if mine is defective.
