Pirates of the Caribbean - Martin’s 2021 Ultimate Tribute part two - Orlando

- Continuing this series, start by taking an in depth look the history of the Orlando version of this attraction, how and why it was built, how it was designed and laid out, how it differs from Anaheim and a look at the major changes made since 1973 including the original treasure room scene in full.
Next take a walk into Adventureland for a complete tour of the attraction including both queues in full and a full multi angle ride through including each scene in full, followed by a tour of Caribbean Plaza.
I was gifted 70 gig of 4K footage mainly shot in 2017 that I could use so long as I released it in 4K, so as well a 1080p version this is my first edit also in 4K. Audio is a source / clean live mix leaning more towards full source.
The footage was also shot in 2017 specifically to capture the original auction scene in full - as it is presented here. I’ve purposely edited this to capture the attraction as it was at that time. Part one (Anaheim) features the new auction scene with Redd in full.

It is amazing how Disney thinking "Florida doesn't need Pirates" set off a domino effect leading to Big Thunder Mountain.

I love the queue for Orlando but Disneyland definitely got the better ride with the additional intro scenes. Also, the 4K quality on this video is absolutely stunning!

It boggled my mind, and the minds of my parents on how we missed the Pirates ride the first time we went to WDW. The second time we went there we rode it, and it looked like it had been there all along. Those folks at Disney were so good at making something look like it was just there all along.....hey...they still aren't that shabby at it either. Later I rode the Pirates ride in California and I have to admit....that one is better. I still love the one at WDW...and The Haunted Mansion. Those two classics are a must.
Aw yeah Martin continues to dig up untold tales and treasures about one my favorite Disney Attractions!!!
Wonderful; this POTC is the one I discovered as a young child on a family vacation to Orlando back in the 1970's. Ever since that trip I've had an affinity for this attraction and also The Haunted Mansion.
Fascinating that rides get overhauled and altered to fit in with today's woke and sensitive consciousness, even though these ideas and portrayals were done in decades past. But I suppose it must be done so that yesterday's poor values or insensititivities don't have a bad influence on the youth of today. I usually say that getting rid of past bad behaviors is tantamount to saying they never happened, but in this case I don't think that is valid. But I digress; don't want to get too involved in the changes that have been made to POTC.
I do wish to thank you sincerely for all the work that's been done here in these continuing videos, these in depth looks into Disney rides and history. It means a lot. If I had any spending money I'd jump on the patreon wagon and give some support. Keep up the super work.
Your vids are really educational about all these rides. Never new 90% of the info so thank you for making these. The time it must take for all the editing, music, writing on the screen, ect. Thanks again for all your effort...

Martin, Thank you again for another truly fine video!! I'm honestly surprised you didn't present the current version with the new red head scene. Ironically, this is the last version of the attraction I saw in person when I visited Magic Kingdom back in 2016.
Anaheim (part one) has the nee scene - this was specifically shot before the changes were made in Orlando to capture the original scene.

I’ve a long term plan to do a showcase edit of never built ideas which would also cover the non-attraction pavilions. Maybe one day !
This is the only version I’ve ridden and while it’s fine, I really wish they hadn’t cut corners when making it so that it could open as quickly as possible.

Awesome video! I have heard rumors that there was once some sort of “shattering flower pot effect” in the Auction scene at one point. Do you know anything more about that?
I’m pretty sure that there was a small motion effect that caused one of the flower pots to shake/spin when the gun was shot in the auction scene. Whether it was Anaheim or Orlando or just a figment of my imagination, who knows.
Absolutely! I remember the woman would scream and the pots would break apart. Then they would reset back together :)
