We finally got a feature in I've had sorta in the back of my head for a long time. Hoping this helps make the act of scavenging for items just a bit more satisfying.

I like that the object moves instead of disappearing
Looks great! Definitely an improvement over the vanilla pickups. The only suggestion I can think of for improving this is maybe switching the soda can model to a "crushed" variant after drinking it, so there's a clear visual indicator that it's been consumed. Between the manual pickups and holding batteries in reserve, I like how this mod is leaning towards giving the player control over when to use critical resources. Keep up the good work!
I really enjoy the idea of Combine Soldiers carrying around Breen soda to enjoy a refreshment every once in a while.

the fact that it's a Combine soldier makes it even weirder, although, ICE had a feature where Gordon could eat food he finds, and I wish that feature was in more mods (mostly because I loved eating shit and leaving the remains).

I'm really looking forward to this mod, saw the delayed release date but seeing how you guys are polishing mostly ever aspect of the game right now I feel like this is going to be another worth while wait, and the custom animations are so satisfying.

Man, I am absolutely IN LOVE with this, do take your time though! it's better to have a late game than a rushed game (recent AAA titles have shown this)
I love how the soda cans are discarded after use- you haven't overlooked a single neat touch for this game!
I like that mechanic, my friend Vlad have thought about making healing soda cans aswell in his project called Half-Life 2: Rewritten (it's more of a remake like Half-Life: Raising The Bar Redux mod)

Cool thing that animations are not the same every time, they are precedural or random and depend on which side the object is picked up.

How does a Combine cyborg whose face was integrated into their gasmask manage to drink a can of soda?
am not so much interested in the "cooler feeling of scavenging by mashing e" as the fact i can actually pick up when i really want to. not a big deal either, but not having to always avoid pickup so i do not waste a kit for 1hp before battle is pretty convenient imo.
well i say mashing e but maybe it could be holding the key instead. idk how you plan to implement that mechanic exactly.
