That's a great movement, but the only reason it exists is because it was worth Dangdong (the Chinese clone movement manufacturer who effectively own Peacock, they're inside the Dangdong factory) time to rep the Rolex 4130 properly to make 1-1 replicas (IE proper fake) Daytona's. The Peacock movement is an unbranded, 4130 with enough altered to stop Rolex launching a court case.
Thanks for the review Dan, that 24 hour sub dial has to go on all these quartz chronographs. There are other options and it’s a deal breaker for me regardless of brand 👍
Hard to see why anyone would spend the extra when Pagani does it for half the price, alternatively Phylida (appreciate you had issues with the name) comes with the ST19 movement for similar money.
I wanted to buy the first version of this but decided I could not live with the thickness of the case and its slab-sidedness. I ended up going for the Pagani V4 instead. Had this new WD version been available then I would have bought it just because it has the iconic dots at 12 o'clock whereas the Pagani does not for some inexplicable reason (they did on the V3 but not V4).
Sadly they dont sell the v2 anymore, only the v1. But i dont want to live with the thickness. They said the v2 isnt being produced anymore and they are going to change the v3, so guess ill have to end up buying the Pagani Desesign, even though its inferior in terms of details compared to the WD1861 v2/1862
Have the (may i say "funny"?) white dial with the "red rockets" subdials hands Pagani, won't bother for this, although it looks more like the bussiness (as you say over there! 😋). Cheers Dan, be well mate.
I’ve watched your channel for a few years now. First time I’ve commented but just wanted to say I enjoy your content. It’s to the point and I appreciate your gentle humour. Anyway onto the watch.. The speedy is a watch that’s nice, but never got me excited I appreciate the history and all that but for me, the Bulova lunar pilot is the one with arguably the more interesting history and even today is more modern looking So I’m a bit biased I suppose when I say the last thing I feel we need is yet another speedy homage and what I’m taking away from this watchdives version is basically you’re paying more for the same or similar compromises one has to make with a pagani design. So buy one of those, throw away the bracelet and buy a nice quality strap..by the way are you still selling those? It’s still going to be a better watch afterward than that cancer in horology known as moonswatch
Hello! Thank you for your comment and supporting the channel. I no longer sell watch straps, but still have a stash to smarten whatever is in the collection up occasionally! I love the Bulova, but always struggled with it's chunky size on my wrist. Appreciate you watching my videos, kind regards Dan.
Glad you mentioned the edginess on the bracelet and case. I've found that on several Ali Express watches but a lot of reviews never pick up on it.
Its weird, some are a bit edgy and some are so smooth!
Great watch, the white dial makes it look like a different watch all together, cheers dan this is a winner.
great homage. I have the black dial version
@@zillsburyy1 nice 👍
You manage to still be entertaining even as years of following such watches for at least half a decade.
@@res00xua thanks man!
Thanks so much for sharing actual footage of this thing
Nice review, I share your nitpicks. Also, the bezel is just a bit too wide. Its thinner on the original and would look better if this had the same.
I'd by this if they fixed the bezel, I agree.
I'd love to see the 2800 high beat peacock mechanical chronograph movment in a speedy homage ❤

So pretty much every single Japanese brand quartz chronograph ever made 😄. I agree, it’s useless but not a big deal to me 🤷♂️

Thanks for this. On Aliexpress it's shown as the WD1861 but appears to be the same. Very restrained of you not to mention the 12 o'clock marker!

Hands down best bang for buck Speedy Homage/Clomage out there IMO. They also have a new logo. Thanks for the great review!
I like the white dial, too. We could talk about white dials if we knew each other. That would be medium. Cheers!
Can you compare this with the pagani design version? I think they have a white speedy too.
Now I have to get the white one as well.
@@boomshanka8743 it's a fresh take on this tried and tested look.
@@watchmewithwatches There was also talk of a white dial plum bezel version. That would be an instabuy for me if it happens

Where did you read that? thanks!
Getting mad watch collector vibes here 🤣
@@ryanstephen7806 he can't be the only mad one
Dan is natural.... 😜
Why is it so much more (50%) expensive than the V1? And isn't the bezel misaligned (see 60 and 120 positions)?
It might be, im not sure tbh! I will check again.
Also, +/- 20 seconds per month instead of Swiss COSC certification... +6 / -4 seconds... per day!!!

The bezel is too fat, but other than that, it's a pretty decent build.
Do you feel the bezel is still a little too think? It’s hard for me to unsee it.
@@jwags24 I think it looks good!
I wish someone homaged the Speedmaster Reduced and without the useless 24-hour subdial.
I agree, that would be great. Maybe use a mechanical chrono instead too and charge a fair price.
I am only interested if they have mechanical movements only on these designs.
Hope your budget matches your aspirations.
Does the website still ship from China? And they’re changing the logo to a trident I’ve heard
@@multipl3 trident would look awesome!
Seen it and it’s meh. Prefer the original over it
is it possible that V1 (1861) fits better on smaller wrists?
Hell no...
@@Martin94416 any justification?
Compared it with the Pagani head to head
@@casteltheghettomonk4392 would be good idea!
So if you buy this it'll save seven grand? Pah! Give it a green dial, a yellow metal case and bracelet, and it'll save forty grand.
Now you are talking!
Another Pagani Design, then?
