WHY I OFTEN DON'T MENTION OTHER BRANDS IN MY VIDEOS.
You may have noticed that I often don't mention the original brands that watches I am reviewing pay homage to. This is very intentional and not meant to offend you or the original brands. I lost my first channel in October 2020 which I had spent 9 months growing and invested a significant amount of money in simply because I had mentioned the original brands in some of my videos. There are people who try to use RUclipss lack of understanding when it comes to the difference between homage watches and fake watches to attack other channels and their owners and sadly I fell foul of this in 2020. This channel was also attacked recently and RUclips deleted content simply because I had said 'subby homage' and 'Rolex homage' in two videos despite the watches in the videos being perfectly legal homage watches. Please understand that I can not afford to risk my channel so I will no longer be mentioning other brands when reviewing homage watches.

You have to take into account the price and these are VERY good value. If I can save £200 over a San Martin and the only difference is a slightly less flat chamfer (and the WDs have a better logo on them) then yeah, these every time.
The problem with this information from Watchdives is that, how on earth will we know if we are buying a watch from the old factory, as opposed to one from the new factory, which is undoubtedly of better quality? It is not like they will update their listings with such information, or greatly discount the old factory watches!
So this video is both good and bad news for us consumers. Unless Watchdives can provide more clarity on the issue.

You can ask the seller, sometimes they have a v1 v2 etc.
It's easy. If you're in Canada, you'll be getting the crappy watch. If you're outside of Canada you should be okay. 🤣😂
I recently bought a Watch Dives BB54 with VH31 quartz movement and I am delighted with it.
It was a bit on the pricey side but it was a new release and I did not want to wait for the inevitable price drop. It was described as having "yellow markers" but, as it was the only version with the gold bezel markings that I particularly wanted, I went for it.
The markers are much more yellow than I thought. In certain light conditions they can be greeny yellow but the plus side is that the lume is the best I have ever seen. The polishing, brushing and chamfers are immaculate IMHO. The bracelet and clasp are perfectly acceptable at this price and vastly superior to Casio/Citizen/Seiko offerings at this price point.
If Watch Dives continue to produce quartz watches then I fully expect to be buying many more especially if they are not all "divers" or over 38mm cases.
Just had my WD7922 arrive 2day & I agree with your assessment 100%.Too expect the same quality of finishing on a watch that was less than £100 to the quality of finishing on a watch that would cost 5times as much is not really fair.When u start saying the polished edge has a slight distortion it's kinda ridiculous
Yes, mine came inmaculated. This guy sounded irritated and tried to compared to a san martin double the price. Remind me of the pixel peep syndrome in camera comunity😂
I've had the WD1967 V2 (Enamel Black - Calender) for a month or so while my SMP is in the hell that is Swatch Service. While it's not a San Martin, the midcase is perfectly sized, the dial is well done, finishing is better than acceptable, the color matched date is nice, lume lasts through the night (BGW9 Variant), and the bezel action is good. The clasp needed lubrication to work properly, but my bezel lines up, luckily. For ~$150USD, it's an excellent watch to bang around without worry.
I have the Sharkmaster (Ministry of Defense 1967 Seamaster 300 homage) V1. I'm really happy with it. Finishing is somewhere between my SteelDive SD1970 and my Proxima PX1683, which is fair given the price is also somewhere in between.
The bracelet is really comfortable though and their on-the-fly quick adjust is so smooth to operate.
The split screen worked really well - nice idea.
I love the second one: Watchdives WD 7922. Great watch. Looking forward to a review.

Given the prices of their watches, you should be comparing them with Pagani Design, rather than San Martin...
Just because something is more expensive doesn't mean it's better ... Quality is quality

I'm very impressed with the WD BB54 homage. In fact IMO it looks even more like a vintage watch than the actual watch it's homaging. I do wish they would have went with a taller crystal to simulate the plexi's of old, but everything else looks great. For $100, a sweep quartz movement, you've basically got a Casio level beater. I can't see a fault in it.
I have the WD SM300 homage one, shown here. My personal one is perfect; aligned bezel, no blemishes, maybe 5 sec a day fast.
I'd like to see reviews on ALL of them, of course. 🤣👍
Like the first one. Seems super polished in more ways than one. The second seems like a solid BB58 homage. The third however seems brilliant! Not sure what its homaging but it looks great! Its a shame it doesn't perfectly align but as its not a super expensive watch I could live with that.

Recently picked up a WD clomage of a black dial speedmaster and quite pleased with the quality/look/value
I got the sub 5512 for about £80 recently. For the price its fantastic and has no alignment or other obvious QC issues 👌
I think I have five watches from Watchdives. No titanium. I have the red bezel insert version of that quartz Black Bay homage and it's very nice. So many of the quartz versions seem to be a bit of a step down across the board but the Black Bay quartz is super nice. Mine did have a slight bit of over-brushing but no pitting. I wear it on a dark brown vintage leather strap. I also have one of their Willard/6105 homages in the green with gilt hands. LOVE that thing! Everything about it is fantastic though the lume is a slight step down from the Steeldive 6105. And of the Pagani, Steeldive and Watchdives versions of the Explorer II homage, I easily like the Watchdives version the best. Hands look the best. Just everyting about the dial is better. It seems of these three, they doing a great job on the dials and indices and hands and the bracelets and clasps - while not terribly disappointing, esp at these price points - take a back seat vs the dials and hands and just the watch head in general which is absolutely how I'd prefer it. Really impressed with that quartz BB though. Absolutely love it.

I think they look pretty good! They dont ask much for them, I have a few of the mechaquartz watches and mine all showed up in good condition and I really enjoy them.
I am looking forward to the full review of the BB54 homage.

When it's polished up it really does look more expensive than it is , im only going by the video, but I was impressed with the pop of it on video.

I like the watch I got from amzwatch. That rubber strap combo looks really cool! Been wearing it since last year and love every minute of it.
The Omega homage is the most interesting to me especially since I bought two of the version one models the big triangle then the blue the lugs looked to be much better Anyways another great one my friend Be well and Thanks for sharing as always 👍
As you well know San Martin makes pretty good quality watches with good QC overall however and one of the watches you well checked the pitting on the surface you noted with the clasp was definitely and overlooked concern that SM should have not overlooked specially as their improvement have been noted but they dropped their standard with this detailed well recognized review by your good expert eyes. Thank you my dear friend .. Always appreciate your high quality channel that does not drops the ball and stays always on point with exceptional marks.. !!
Another sub homage comparison would be great. You can compare the Watch Dive’s homage with other brands.
Would love to see more of the VH31 (BB Homage). I nearly pulled the plug on one but I was worried that it was too small.
I have the first one (sub homage) and even though l got it pre owned for the price l paid,l am very pleased with it. They aoon get grubby after few hours on wrist.
I am more concerned that they keep relatively good time throughout the day.

I’m not fussy for seeing yet more reviews of Rolex/Tudor clones. They’ve been done to death on RUclips. I’d much rather see reviews of original design (although I appreciate its hard to be truly original) micro brand watches in the sub £500 category.
Are there any particular micro brands you'd like to see?

@@WatchWiseUS Boldr, NTH, Marloe, Spinnaker, Geckota, Nodus, Nite, RZE, Direnzo, Straton, Signum, Mr Jones, JJ Monaghan, etc, etc. There are loads of good quality, sub £500, ‘original’ design watches out there without relying on AliExpress for watch review content. I’m not saying that AliExpress brands aren’t any good, I own San Martin and Cadisen, but it’d be nice to see something other than Subby and Speedy clones all the time.

I got the bb54 homage from WD and like quite a bit. So much so I sold my San Martin sn017-g actually. I find the finishing on WD equal to the SM.
Keen to see you review their speedy homage. Watching your videos on a 70 inch tv in 4k is satisfaction for the eyes.

I was impressed with the submariner clone , not sure I'd have one tbh, but even on video it looked impressive, it looked super polished and expensive , I would like to see it in person.
The main problem with wearing it though is it really does look like a submariner , and I'm not sure how I feel with wearing something that looks like a fake watch 🤔 but if I was to have one , I think I would buy one this one , its the first one that has looked expensive, for that alone its value for money.

I have the WD7922, and I agree the quality isn't as good as my San Martin, but I'm happy with it for the price. I've swapped the bracelet for a brown leather strap.
It's sad that watches that look good cost over 1k+. MaMaCoo watches are REALLY well made, and it just shows how a brand name on a watch can make its price 10x higher. I understand that if you look under a microscope, you'll find the difference, but just how many of you really inspect a watch at that level when you see someone with a watch?
I absolutely love watches, the high end watch brands are out of my budget but the amzwatch has literally an almost duplicate of every single watch on the market . Always a great but no matter your budget.
I've always considered Watchdives as the budget version of San Martin. Inferior quality but cheaper price.

2:27 Every sumbariner homage with a massive rehaut is an instant turn off.
The rehaut which slopes so you can see all sides of it from the top is so lame.
Its not on the original so no idea why these homages keep having them..
I just bought one of their GMT's and there's a fault with the movement. Can't quickest the date or gmt hand. I have returned it

I purchased the WD1969 and the thing that really irritated me was that the images on their website were for a previous version of the model that they were no longer shipping. That desired version featured a matte ceramic.bezel insert that mimicked an aged and well-worn aluminium bezel, including a proper raised pip. It was brilliant. What I received was a nice matte ceramic bezel insert, but not at all what I fell in love with. Gone were the raised pip and the cosmetic aged aluminium effects. I loathe when companies do that without telling their customers.
The other disappointment is that the crown barely screws into place. So, despite the watch having a stated water resistance of 300M, I will not be taking it into the shower, or washing dishes, even. But the watch is beautiful to look at and the downward tapered bezel is is so well executed. It is reminiscent of a first generation GMT Master II, where the bezel barely rises above the case, such that it is challenging to get a firm grip on the bezel.

It is a pity that the sharkmaster version is not as plentifully produced as the previous two homages in the video. Much cooler dive watch look IMHO.

These Chinese brands can't get a bezel aligned to save their lives. I've bought a few from different brands just to check them out and they've been slightly off

Maybe they could have put more than 3 seconds into their brand name. "Watch Dives" isn't even a term that any English speaking person would ever use. They are laughing (In Chinese) all the way to the bank.

What do they do with their bad quality watches?
The issue is, no matter how good these three are. They are homages of models that have been done to death. There's also brands with better sounding names that have already done these to similar/better quality, so why would people want 'watch dives' on their wrist over any of the competition?
I bought their 300m PVD cased tuna with grey dial which is a little different to a lot of their offerings, it's fine for the monies, shame you didn't get that one in to try Gary, not too fussed about the selection they sent you, I think others have done them better, even Addiesdive have a version of the last one shown, not handled one but it might even be better made.

Just my opinion but i hate these clones dont get me wrong amazing quality just make an even semi original design 😅 like look how well san martins new original designs are doing i just dont get the rolex and tudor clones id never buy one its the same as owning a fake rolex or Tudor for me it aint a homage its 1 to 1 coppy most of time with these brands again this is my personal take on the matter but i think the more original design's from companies like this would be a hughe win for us all especially now since a decent seiko is like €700 and same for most brands the affordable watch market has a hughe gap in the market from €100 to €400 and the likes of san martin and watcg dives could easily fill the gap and make bank if they did more original designs
The logo is a homage to the san martin logo 😂 I dont mind homages but there is no way around it the lack of originality is comical at this stage.

Hi Gary good video. Certainly not the best from watchdives. I was expecting more 🫤The Tudor Black Bay homage looked ok, the Rolex homage isn’t as good as the San Martin version. I recently bought the Steeldive SD 1953 for £38 in the recent sale and I think that gives the Watchdives version a run for the money. As for the Sharkmaster version, the Addiesdive knocks spots off it, especially in the lume department!
Oh great, more Chinese homages - says nobody anymore. There are enough brands competing for the best value for money homages, Chinese microbrands need to find their own specific design language.

What a hideous logo and name. That clasp is also garbage. At any rate if one was to buy this blatant rip off you may as well just get one that is a true fake and says Rolex. Brutal.
