Helldivers 2 - the sentries and spear combo feels great (Helldive Difficulty)

  • Been having fun combining sentries with the spear. Turns out the machine gun cooldown was extended because of the Orbital Fluctuations modifier.

    Your MG Sentry's cooldown was longer than two minutes because of the Orbital Fluctuations modifier. It normally is correctly 2 minutes.

    I’ve been enjoying using the spear too! I use rocket sentry because it’s nice since the buff, the napalm strike for breaches and when there’s a bunch of small bugs grouped together, and the precision strike for chargers/bile titans that have gotten too close.

    love the spear and MG sentry. sentries are great for covering while you reload. I like using spear with mechs as well since it means you can have huge medium clear power and heavy killing at the same time

    I've been leap frogging the CD of Autocannon turret and Rocket turret so I pretty much always have a turret to drop. For the 4th it's between orbital Railcannon, 110 Rockets and napalm.

      Yeah, against the automatons I’d think I would switch out the 500kg with the rocket pods; the eagle seems to be the most flexible to switch out for something else in this build. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and checking out the video!

    This setup is eerily similar to mine (run triple sentries, rocket autocannon and switch between hmg emplacement and mg sentry). Great vid!

    Try it Bro. I’m going with Spear,Eat17,Eagle airstrike,machine gun sentry, Crossbow to close holes and flash grenades. EAT 17 allows me to save one rocket on shriekers nests. Kill a charger and even finish off the titan. The machine gun does a better job than the main guns, and the crossbow destroys the nests opposite, while the eagle destroys those next to you with the hole pointing in the direction where you are looking.
    Instead of a sidearm, take something that will allow you to support the machine gun well. I recommend a revolver, because even if you don't kill the hunter with one shot, you will kill him in melee thanks to your armor bonus. As for the sentry's autocannon, you don't need it for bile titan, when you have EAT17 and you can save missiles for spear. It is worth mentioning how good the crossbow is for bile spewers, hive defenders and brood commanders❤️Enjoy

    Currently I am running Liberator Concussive or Breaker Incendiary with Grenade Launcher/Ammo Pack. I like the Autocannon Sentry and Orbital Railcannon Strike. Sometimes I switch out the Grenade Launcher with Autocannon you can kill chargers once they go pass with a few shots

      I like the GL with the ammo pack because I burn through those rounds like no tomorrow. I have not used the concussive liberator in awhile so you bringing up makes me want to try using it soon! Thanks for checking out the video!

    May I suggest the liberator concussive. You can pretty much keep absolutely anything that doesn't need a stun grenade off your sentry with it with a single bullet, support your teammates from extreme distances, take on five stalkers at a time with single taps to the face.
    Just something fun to try if you bring two or more sentry.

      Will definitely keep that in mind. I've been wanting to use the concussive liberator and using it in a build like this to support sentries/teammates with the stagger effect sounds like a great choice. Thanks for checking out the video!

    Love the build but threw the Sickle/Redeemer engine into it, +2 nade armor with Impacts, and Strafing Run/Turrets/Spear for adds. Made it less annoying to run in solo quick play as I really felt it needed more chaff clear. Combo Strafing into Spear and biles still go down easy + ac turret.

    I still feel like all the assault rifles are like, 75% of the way there. They need mag changes to be faster, and more mags, and maybe a bit more damage still, to bring them up to where the purifier, dominator, sickle**, and incendiary breaker are.

      i feel like just more ammo in the mag would make it better like 75 or 80 for the new liberator and like 50-55 for the normal ones

    7:30 two mini nukes, but arty already has 1 static and 1 smoke loaded and the third guy ignored the second nuke and comes up with another smoke instead. :(

    Do you have a shoulder swap mod on or has that always been in the game?

      It's always been in the game. I'm on PC and the default button for me was one of my mouse side-buttons. Not sure what the default is for controller but I do think you can map the control to something else if you mouse doesn't have the side buttons. Hope that helps! Thanks for checking out the video!

    The MG sentry is actually pretty nice but I still prefer the Gatling because it just mows down everything so quickly except chargers and bile bois

    Yo, you should try it, but if you dive sideways right when you fire you can curve ball your spear to hit.......say......a chargers head that is facing away from you. it doesn't work far away but around 50m its helpful. You should do a video on it

    I would run the liberator or a variant of it if it wasn’t for the hive guards so I run this build but have my adjudicator as my primary :)

      Yeah, that's a good point. Hive guard armor makes it hard for liberators to approach them head on. I need to always go prone and shoot them just below their armored face, haha. Adjudicator does sound good, thanks for the tip. Appreciate you checking out the video!

    No need the 500kg in that build take a napal eagle and throw the 3 you have when a incursion is coming , that shit kill easy 70 80% of the horde if no more 😂👍

      Yeah, I feel that the 500kg is the most flexible thing in this build. I can switch it out for something else since I didn't feel it did to well in this game. A napalm sounds like a great substitute. Thanks for checking out the video!

    Maan bringing ATs to bugs doesn't feel good as it used to be. Unreliable BT kills, floods of Behemoth which also not an instant kill. Gotta dial back difficulty for bugs for now to enjoy certain weapons.

      a tip for AT vs behemoth - as long as you're moving forward enough when you fire, you can 1-shot the leg armor and finish it off with a primary. If you're standing still or moving backward then you lose some damage and it will take two hits on the leg... might sound crazy but it's true

      @@Drischa I knew that already from reddit, but thanks anyway. It's just that flamethrower is quicker to deal with them, relegating AT function strictly to killing BT, and it's generally unsatisfying to use.

      I agree with you, it is frustrating. There seems to be an issue at the moment with bile titans sometimes not taking damage to the head, so anti-tank weapons don't feel reliable enough for the commitment in loadout they demand.

      It's only long because of the current modifier that increases cooldown. MG turret normally is up pretty often.

      The cooldowns this game did feel long but that was because of the orbital fluctuations modifier that increases stratagem cooldowns. Otherwise, it comes up pretty often. Thanks for checking out the video!
