I just bursted out laughing because I realized Alex is literally climbing life project climbs for me with the most unbothered music I have ever heard 😂
seriously, this is just insane. there you can see how strong these actually are. 10 routes 8b-8b+/c in a singele day. and he looks so confortable on it. respect
Cool implicit message. So much of elite climbing is about travelling around half the globe, and while that may just be how it's got to be for the best, it's refreshing to see a pro appreciating the local. Music choice is fire btw.
The fact that he can do 10 of those rputes in a day foretells that he won't have much new routes to enjoy before long haha, for those monsters of climbing i guess it makes a bit more sense to travel to find something that feels properly hard for them, but for most of us that will never reach the max grade of our locals crags it makes a bit less sense for sure
@@Aaron-xq6hv I don't get your point. He's literally climbing at crags he can reach with his bike within hours. Why the fuck would that not align with the concept "local"? Why the fuck do you assume I don't know what the Frankenjura and its dimensions are?
Paar Routen davon hatte ich schon gesehen in der Frankenjura und hatte mich gefragt wie man das klettert. Einfach festhalten und hoch ;) Sehr cooles Video Danke!
would love to see more of this content in the future, even if it is just simply blogged bouldering content. Always love seeing climbing content from you :) keep it up, best climbing channel ever
That 'Father and son' waltzing part was the best! However awkward it might sound at first, it's just fascinating how well the music goes with the pace, the movement, the footwork, the footage. I'm already rewatching.
Honestly a true masterpiece all the way from the editing to the soundtracks. You've really stepped up your quality in video production over the last year!
Would love to know the logistics going on here. Routes having draws being pre-clipped ready for the climb, multiple video angles setup before Alex leaves the ground for each climb, family of the belayer(?) hanging out having a great day outdoors. Tell me everything!
I just wanted to watch the first climb thinking that I would watch the whole video later. And I just could not stop watching the whole thing. It was like a very good gangster movie: action packed from minute one, tense but fun, stylish, cool, and what a music... .
One of my favorite videos of yours, the quality of filming and getting to see so much movement on so many routes is a treat. Such authentic vibes throughout. Thanks!
We've got a new sport crag in Scotland and on E bikes it's a 25 minute very pleasant run on on forest tracks, walking is 1.5 hours and normal bike is a knackering 50 minus or so depending on your fitness. You can do it without Ebikes but with them it's a pleasure several times a week and even better it often works in winter which is a rarity in these parts.
Great video, great climbing! Made it look so casual. I don't even want to know how ridiculously hard an 8b must feel in Frankenjura, you go through the Franken runouts like it was nothing.......
And supposedly one of a hand full places with route density at that grade in drivable range by bicycle. That's why I love to be born around here in the Frankenjura ❤ thanks for the entertainment Alex 🙂
This was so sick, all I need is some clear footage of Megos prowling up the wall! thanks. More outdoor sport climbing please! PS are there any routes left for you to repeat in the Franken or have you done everything?
Thankfully the routes in the Frankenjura are not too long, so you can get away with 30 draws or something 😂. A few routes were already equipped because people were trying them
@@alexandermegosAM just imagine people projecting the route for hours (days?) and then Alex comes by saying: " We are doing a 10 10s challenge, can I have a quick go? It won't be long!"
7:08 i think tenaya indalo are not very good for this kind of heelhook. When I do them, wearing my tenaya indalos, it hurts a lot. IMO the solutions are way better for these heelhooks
It's incredible to me how bad Alex's skin must be. Was pleasantly surprised to see no tape at the beginning but clearly that didn't last. Such a major disadvantage for climbing at the highest level. I know personally even a small bit of tape makes things so much harder.
How many one finger pocket are there in the film, who will count? Small Talk - one Subway -one Riesenslalom direkt - two or three? Meteor - one Linie 1 - a lot of... A lot of power!
Hey Alex! How would you rate these routes in the difficulty order? From easiest to hardest (grade and difficulty is different :)) I remember Ondra saying that "Today small talk would be 8c anywhere in the world", haha! Really fun to watch, only thing missing is the legendary Wolfgang's "Kamasutra 218"... Quite hard one too!
Kamasutra would have been very far to bike to 😂. It was a challenge finding classic lines not too far from each other. Small Talk was definitely one of the hardest ones, maybe even the hardest out of the 10
Great Vid! I think the music made the climbs appear easier than they really were...and maybe that was the intent??? That was a really BIG carrot 🥕at the end, which reminds me, I think I still have one left in the frige! bye bye
Awesome idea. I have a question. Is climbing 10 8b routes in 10 hours for a climber that can climb 9b/9b+ the same as a 7b max climber climbing 10 6b routes in 10 hours. Curious to hear from elite climbers. I'm thinking that the scenario is not equal. I think the 9b climbs are way harder than 8b. Some sort of logarithmic scale.? Not sure.
Challenge accepted

sooooo true(:

You say "the local", but the Frankenjura isn't exactly just some random crag.

Maaan your so right!!! sane thing i had in mind!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣 love it thänks Alex;)
One of the best videos you’ve made. Well done. So so casual, It was like watching a gecko just doing it’s thing
came for the climbing, stayed for the music
HA! I wanted to say exactly that! 🙂
For me it's the opposite lol

Einfach nicht vergessen das du arme hast :D
"Höher treten, höher greifen"
Ist auch immer ein guter Spruch.
:D
Besonders zweieinhalb Meter über dem letzten wackeligen Keil.
Best Video on this channel yet. In my opinion. Lots of rock climbing. Incredible how Alex hikes these hard lines!
Mega Aktion, sah fast nach einem Spaziergang aus. Super gefilmt, besonders die Dronenaufnahmen waren klasse

insane climbing and well filmed
what is going on around 2:40 ?!? This might be the only existing cMegos climbing footage WITHOUT tape :D

Klassischer Megos-Film: Ein absoluter Banger
The best musical accompaniment I've ever seen in a climbing video.

This was an insanely good video. The music complimented the great climbing and the beautiful nature quite nicely.
Amazing video, actually really fun music and incredible to see someone climb so amazing like this

There's a similiar here in Helsinki in September, but for boulders. Climb as many as you can in 10 hours, traveling between boulders by bike.

Nice production quality! Love it!
Nice tutorial for a endurance session in Franken. Thanks Alex! I will do this next Time when I'm there in my dreams.
how long did it take to set up the draws and camera equipment at each route?
I would love to see a making of of this video.
Incredibly stressful music for Riesenslalom direkt! Hot damn that was cool.
This gives me a better idea of how strong you are than another 9b+

Why are the anchors made up from only 1 bolt?
Because we Germans love saving money wherever we can. I think an anchor is a good place to start saving.

That looked so effortless ...
Next up is eight 8A or harder boulders in 8 hours
super cool challenge... what's the hardest route you've done twice or more times?
climbing a single 8b route would be a lifetime achievement for me...
How did you manage putting up the draws? Was there a team for that?
nice music :)
( and Great climbing )
the music adds to the suspense hahaha
how many draws did you need to pre-equip all the routes? and di poor chris have to put them all in?
Why are in most routes already quickdraws (especially the routes you did not climb)?
Good Performance and wonderful routes. But is IT Not to easy for Alex? With normal Bikes the Challenge makes more sence for me.✌️
