Thanks for these vids and breaking down the cost of the build , chassis and motor. Its a lot but to have a bike built and tuned properly by yourself or another accredited shop that mostly workes on Raptors is money well spent imo.
Most important thing I've learned over the past 20yrs building and racing atv's is that if u ever decided to go balls out build on any macine u might own u better make sure u love that machine because the money isnt ever coming back this here is a fine example of that these machines are like building a old hotrod u might have 150K in it but thats not what its worth when it comes down to it a custom build is only worth what someone is willing to pay
not needed but it is a gain in comfort and performance., the rear shock can handle an +8 with just a coil spring swap... this is for basic use... always best to do a full revalve for best performance
Is there not much of a gain to be had with a 105.5 cylinder with this build? Seems like while it’s all apart that would be an easy thing to throw on. Must be a reason just curious?
well 2 things here... if a newer bike the oem cylinder is already there and ready for a new piston... less cost... Big bore would add another 4 hp and 3 tq... making low 80+ .. the oem bore with oem gasket is more reliable and trouble free
You mentioned the other day you had a Pod 300. I went looking it up I had no idea they made those or I would have never got a cheap Trail tech , I’m looking to get a Pod 300. But what did you do for a mount ? I’ve been trying to make a better one for trail tech 3D printing but not working out. Curious what you did for a mount for the pod 300
Rebuilt a 2004 Honda 450 kicker last summer & cost abt 9k to do…& still need new plastics & rebuilt sus. Best offer I got was 6500. Ppl think cuz they paid 6k for it in 2004, it’s only worth a couple thousand today. 😒
@@djdubs8544 working on two 2004 660’s currently. Not total rebuilds but just gettin em good to sell this spring. Blink & your $1000-$1200 in….each. You know how many times I’ve heard “all it needs” from sellers on all the quads I’ve fixed. The Honda 450 was the only quad I’ve done a complete rebuild on cuz it totally needed it. It was a huge pile of junk. Piston split in half & damaged the case too. Replaced like 90% of that build with new or newer parts
I got a big 5 raptor and I’m cool with the power output I’m making, no hate on this build but 7500$ and then with inflation going up is crazy for only high 70hp. I personally would have slapped a r1 motor with that $ if I was trying to reach high hp
The float though they work well are cosmetically ugly with the Brown coating. i also feel they dont have the progression needed on "spring rate" so seem to bottom too easy or be too rough if set at higher pressure... this and the maintenance needed in our more exteeme temperature changes.
@@MrCuervoRacingI have the float 3 evol’s and I can say that sometimes I do notice after I get off the suspension doesn’t go back up to where it should be but I did gain 10 pounds sense I last adjusted them
@joeymarcello 10pds shouldn't be enough to change that I've owned several sets of Floats threw out the yrs I'd prob check ur pressures and see if ur losing anything sounds more like it's time do a shock refresh
@@wko78ms I think they still make them for the raptor but far best bang for your buck most are going with power commanders from stock big 3 to high end horsepower build
Meh... for a few reasons. 1 is no benefit for power on the 700 that ive seen so far.. 2 is only fits the 15-22 harness. 3 i run what i sell and vortex is not viable for mass market unless they start to include the software and interface cable for free. 4. Tech support and distribution is not at an acceptable level.
Definitely get out and ride it!

Called a hobby for a reason, right?😂
Two questions.
First one, do you need to upgrade the shocks if you have an SE?
Second, do you need to upgrade them if you increase the swing arm size?

On my way out to the Glamis Sand Dunes! Nice build!
Have fun!
Thanks for the break down

For real man I'm building a 660 right now and I'm already 10k in

@djdubs8544 Yep!!! I'm building my 2006 banchee. I bought brand new. I think new price was 6500.00$ now I'm close to 35k and still not done

well... its a Hp to weight thing... a r1 though not much heavier it affects handling quite a bit, no reverse and no tq...
Do the power commander 6 work on 2024 raptor 700r?
yes all years... u can even run a pc3 from 2007 on a 24.... year specific mapping is needed
What oil do you run in these?
Good morning
I would like to have a map from you for a 700 raptor from 2022
FMF line equipment
k&n air filter
beautiful

Quick question why do you run suspension with coils over suspension like fox floats with no coils?

Indeed
You need a drw case saver! I wouldnt want my pristine cases ruined from a chain snapping or slapping!
Quite a few reasons why we dont run that . We do also run the best available chain. Tested at 140+ hp
Why not vortex ecu? Power commander is what they used in the 90s
I think vortex ecu is more for the yfz 450
