I bought the biggest shepards hook i could find which is 8 ft. I put that in the middle of the yard so theres no trees or anything the squirrels can jump from. I rub vegtable grease on the shepards hook pole about 3 feet up from the ground and go to the top. Its funny to see the squirrels run up the pole and they can make it about 5-6 before they loose momentum and start sliding back down.
You could put two lower resources of food and some different enrichment around the area to increase more room for both or new wildlife to enjoy your love for them squirrels can be just as cool and fun to watch
It's always funny to me how people pick and choose what wildlife they care about. Squirrels are just as cute and sweet as birds and deserve to have access to food and water and shelter the same way all the animals do ❤ shouldn't gatekeep resources based on what you think is perry or not
I don't think the squirrels, share the spoils. Hence the solution to the extreme hoarding is have the squirrels forage in ways they are more naturally used to. Or have a separate squirrel feeder that takes effort and time, but for sure gives food to survive. Balance is key😊
Oh, I feed the squirrels!!! Believe me! I throw peanuts in the ground too! The issue is they scare my birds away from the feeder and stay on it till the food is GONE😫😫😫 I have a CRAZY amount of squirrels in my area too so it’s extra hard! I also have other feeders at the side of my house that I allow them to eat from!🥰🥰

Crows are pretty tough. I hate to say it but I think if the crows wanted those feeders they would have already been on it. I think it may be time to accept you may just have a squirrel feeder

I now how shocking that squirrels should go towards food when they are hungry. Some people need a real job it's disturbing that your so invested in stopping a squirrel from eating.
Because a slinky can break if you maneuver it too much. It's just plastic, it can snap. Especially the one that she got. It's star shaped and really thin. It doesn't look very sturdy

If you watch older videos I also have a neighborhood cat that I sometimes feed. I had to train her to eat in the BACK on my deck because the cat and crows don’t get along. Just trying to find solutions for all🤷♀️ But YES, the crows are my #1 priority… simple as THAT
That kind of sucks for the squirrels. Why do you even have feeders? Is it only for your animals if it’s for other animals that kind of sucks for the squirrels but whatever

Just put olive oil on the post. They slide right off 😂
Then you have to keep oiling it all the time, introducing another chore to your life
