i recommend to drink some fire res from piglins and go find some ntherite under lava. this is most likely best way to find netherite but you have to pay attention to your fire res duration.
In beta 1.6 test build 3 you get some chests with every item and that incloudes portal blocks, lava, fire and best of all that, water it doesnt flow and you can place it in the nether

Guys this is how I mine for ancient debris, no bed mining, no strip mining, no x ray, no fire res, or any weird shit. It's just this. I dig straight down for it, but what? Well,I create a copy of my world, and then using a /execute command on the copy, I clear out EVERYTHING that is not acnient debris, then I just have the ancient debris exposed, I memorize the coordinates, instantly mine there, no problem. Got over a stack like that in no time.

Something funny happened with my brother so me and my 5 yes 5 year old brother were playing Minecraft together and he watches a lot of Minecraft videos so he’s kind of a young pro but I was just wandering my base and I check in on him at his base and I see a nether portal and so I ask where did this come from and he says I made it from a lava pool yes his Minecraft RUclips knowledge showed him how to build a nether portal from a lava pool and I didn’t even know how to do that!.😂
