If you are having trouble getting Overcharged working, this might be because of the 20th Anniversary update. You should be able to fix this by making sure you do the following: - Have Half-Life 2, Ep 1, Ep 2 and Lost Coast installed (not just the anniversary edition). You can find these in your Steam library by going up to where it says Games on the top left, click the drop-down, and check Tools as well. Now the original versions should appear in your library. Make sure these are installed. - Right-click Half-Life 2, go to Properties and to Betas. Here, click the drop-down next to Beta Participation and select the "steam_legacy - Pre-20th Anniversary Build". This should auto-change Ep. 1, Ep. 2 and Lost Coast to the steam_legacy version, but if not just repeat this process for each of those. Let me know if this works for you, or if I need to update any of this.
for all of those having trouble with overcharged not appearing in the steam library. You got to drag the actual mod folder from the zip folder that was created while extracting. So instead of having ''OVERCHARGED_Release'' in the folder you just want the folder inside of it labeled OVERCHARGED, and then restart steam.
I found a fix for it not showing up! If you have steam/ steam games installed on two drives, meaning two separate steam folders , install this mod on each drive's separate source mod folder!!
No "sourcemods" folder appearing. Switched SSDK2013 to the "upcoming" beta and it still didn't appear. I made sure I did everything correctly. HL1,HL2,HL2:E1, and HL2:E2 are all on the same drive.
This is a real help hey i got a question im trying too unstalled half life 2 overcharged mod becasued want too relode the patched versiom and for some reason its not letting me delete the mod is there anyway too get rid of it
If you go to Steamapps/sourcemods, select the Overcharged folder and click delete does that work? Make sure to restart Steam, if it was on. I just tried it and it deleted okay for me. If that doesn't work, I would think either Steam is stopping it from being deleted (so make sure Steam is off) or there is a permissions problem with where the mod is installed. Let me know if you are still having trouble.
I have had this problem with other Source games. How I resolve it is by going into Task Manager, finding the hl2 process, and ending the task. Another way is to restart your computer. I think that will resolve it, because it has something to do with the hl2.exe not turning off and continuing to run in the background.
Go to Steamapps/sourcemods, select the Overcharged folder and delete the folder. You can also get to it by right clicking on it in your Steam library, go properties and select browse local files.
Is your sourcemods folder on C:\? If not, try making a sourcemods folder in the C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\steamapps directory, and place the mod there. Hopefully that works.
If you have your steam (or library) installed on, say, D drive or some secondary drive it can cause problems. So one thing you can try is, if that is the case, navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps and create a sourcemods folder there, and then install the mod in that folder. Let me know if that works.
That's a hard question to answer. My first suggestion would be to check and make sure Half-Life 2, Ep 1, Ep 2, Lost Coast as well as the Overcharged mod are all installed on the same hard drive.
In Steam it will show that it booted into Episode 2, but the game menu should now offer you options such as Advanced Settings (which includes the FX and special graphics options).
