Na, The practical accuracy course subjects surplus or in service military firearms to a accuracy test out to 500 yrds. or 800 yards for a sniper rifle or DMR. This barrel will probably achieve that easily. They have already shown that most run of the mill hunting rifles pass the course easily. Not really a test of this barrel.

Carbon fiber barrels have one huge flaw: the epoxy that binds the fibers together. These epoxies have a very low melting point compared to steel so they do NOT last long under persistent shooting conditions. The cured epoxy is also very susceptible to creep (cyclical stress loading).
I would never suggest it unless you plan to shoot 3 shots , 20 times per year.

    • @RJBiteanerd
      @RJBiteanerd Месяц назад

Seeing as the SCAR is already a pencil profile you're not likely going to shave much if any weight. On top of that the SCAR harmonic issues are primarily from the BCG moving through the upper receiver and banging back into the feed ramps which will still be metal.

carbon fiber shrinks as it gets hotter. the stainless liners grows. this dissimilar nature can cause seporation of the matterials and decreased accuracy.
"carbon fiber" is a composite material. carbon fiber and epoxy. like fiberglass.
the carbon is very thermally conductive but the epoxy makes up almost half of the composite is not that conductive.
generally they heat up slow and cool down slow.
when u "chip" the fiber it ruins it a lot more than scratching steel.
in short the mixture is extrememly important and not one military uses them as duty grade. they are benchrest queens

@johnbartlett7000 Ohh man, don't get me wrong, I am not trying to tell anyone not to spend their money the way they want to. I just have a big issue, with paid advertisements not declaring they are paid advertisements, and with Channels like The Military Arms Channel not disclosing the full picture to someone that comes across this video and maybe does not have the experience in building ARs or shooting that some of others of us have. Like if I new person to AR building watches this video, and thinks man I need that barrel because I want the best accuracy I can get, that person is not gonna necessarily understand that they can spend a fraction of that cost and get a barrel that will be way, way more accurate then they ever will be. A new person to shooting may not understand that they don't have the skills to make that barrel worth buying. And that a off the shelf nitride barrel, or chrome lined, etc. from faxon or rosco or a hundred other reputable barrel makers will still be far more accurate than they are and suit them better because it will be more durable and have a higher round count before degrading than the stainless carbon fiber barrels. .....But mostly it's the hypocrisy that pisses me off, and the gatekeeper attitude, MAC will dog on one brand for a small imperfection in a product, and then turn around and prop up companies that have a history of sh!tting the bed, in not small ways. I even remember him doing a video, where he was comparing a POF-USA REVOLUTION to a Sig 716DI showing the accuracy was similar and telling people he did not like the POF-USA gun because it was more expensive. And you could get the same accuracy out of the SIG for less money. ....not even bringing up that the Revolution was like 3lbs lighter and the same footprint of an AR15 had full ambi controls and a number of other components that made it more expensive to make. ...yet he then makes this video, which completely flies in the face of his attitude in the POF-USA vs. Sig video. Ok, I am done whinning like a little girl. Sorry about the long reply.

If you're concerned about weight, start pumping iron instead of carbon fibre.

A lot of hype, and no actual demonstration.

Talk is cheap without a representation of 30 shot groups , and Reloaders make ammunition for less money with better accuracy those that expect more from their equipment

It probably broke because it's so light and someone leaned against it. 😂

Cringe, this isn’t even properly carbon fiber jacketed. This is still just wrapped fairly traditionally, this is still gonna warp the barrel slightly as the barrel heats up. You need a carob fiber jacketed barrel where the carbon fiber is applied on a mandrill and then jacketed on the barrel. There’s more that goes into it too, but that’s the first step to getting one that is accurate

Most carbon fibers are only thermally conductive along the axis of the fiber. Pretty much all carbon fiber composites are much less thermally conductive than steel, especially perpendicular to the bore, which is the way heat naturally radiates because of the geometric properties of a barrel. Anyone who tells you different and doesn't have the testing to back it up is either ignorant or lying. This might be a fine product, but when the salesman is peddling in falsehoods, I loose my interest.

More ammo and a training class from a professional. Most $1000 AR’s can outshoot its operator, stop buying attachments and crap.

I never hear anyone talk about the line an upper must make with the barrel in relation to the scope. It all has to be inline and deviate in the least possible manner.
