well the dude is made with super cells (jenova cells) that can regen fast, etc. The wound does take its toll however, as in final fantasy 7 when you find sephiroth's body encased in mako at the crater it's missing its lower half (no legs).
You know Clouds body rejected Mako hence he was never deemed fit for soldier at this point, only after the events he was injected with Jenova cell's and gained strong traits, he managed to lift Sephiroth with pure will something Sephiroth never had at that point. Put it this way you would be angry and the shear adrenaline boost would course through your veins so that could possibly helped over come the odds and this is what may have happened and how Cloud managed to toss Sephiroth off the edge
I was just asking myself, "Who's Cloud's dad, after all?", and when I Googled it, I found a post on a message board with a satisfying answer: "Barrett Wallace, a plot twist that never quite made the full game"
Cloud is one of the few heroes who went from being a CANNON FODDER Stormtrooper, to one of the galaxy's biggest badasses, who eventually defeated a soldier who was a literal god of war. Yeah, that's awesome.
Essentially, everything in Final Fantasy VII is Hojo's fault. Literally; If you think about it, pretty much everything spirals back to Hojo's sick experiments.
And here's me wondering how the fck did Cloud ever fail the initial tests for entering SOLDIER if he could pull this kinda stuff off without even Mako enhancements, lifting that Buster Sword one handed and leaping that kind of height with it, actually hurling Sephiroth in a direct contest of strength...... When the average 3rd Class pretty much bites it with a love tap, and even Zack stumbled and struggled to carry the Buster Sword first time he held it, how the hell did Cloud fail entering the unit if he had this kind of strength?
TheDumbRock In his defence, Sephiroth was a relatively decent and sane guy until the Nibelheim Incident and what he discovered down in the basement broke him. (calm, didn't take offence at accidental disrespect, was mindful of his subordinates health, was willing to go against orders to do the right thing and had a strangely cynical sense of humour, nothing in Crisis Core indicated he had problems early on except how unnerved he was the first time he and Zack found one of Genesis's places and saw the machines there)
It's because Cloud is supposed to be someone that has the potential to have great strength and endurance when he has the drive to see things through, but was held back because of how little he thought of himself all those years ago. The whole adventure in the original game is him unwittingly gaining that determination and realizing his potential, climaxing with him utterly owning Sephiroth in that weird mindscape he was pulled into. Then Advent Children gives him alien cancer and undoes everything...
vc180191 there are fan theories that have been floating around for decades about this scene. One in particular I always found intriguing was the idea that Cloud had some natural superhuman abilities from birth...this being because Cloud was the planets "plan A" to stopping Jenova and the future calamity. But, when Cloud was fused with Jenovas cells and went mental this plan failed...and the Weapons became the planets more intensive strategy. Cloud was more of a passive plan that failed but then actually worked in the end.
omg i laughed so hard when i saw cloud fall down the stairs and just slide down. >_>; i know i'm sadistic but i couldn't help it when i saw him jiggle D:
Damn you Hojo! You've destroided so many lifes! Cloud, Zack, Aerith, Sephiroth, Vincent, Lucrecia... If only Lucrecia had paired with Vincent... How could she marry this creep?! Great video!
He was frozen up by his Sheer will A goddamn nobody with no Mako or anything managed to lift Sephiroth up after being stabbed fatally He felt fear for the first time
I love how Sephiroth got stabbed with a giant sword and he somehow wasn't paralyzed or bleeding to death. I love even more how Cloud was stabbed in the chest and some how lived. But my legit favorite part was when Cloud was sliding down the stairs and he just kind of came to an abrupt stop. I lol'ed
Because Cloud had an inner strength that grew out of his caring for Tifa and Zack. He knew he had to defend his friends, and Sephiroth could never match that strength.
Hmm, Sephiroth in japanese version he seems to be more expressive not only in his words but through his voice too. I like how in the cutscene when Sephiroth stabs Cloud he says in with furious voice almost like a scream "Don't get over confident" (and is normal because he's doing a lot of effort to stay on his feet after being stabbed by the buster sword) But in the english dub, Sephiroth says "Don't test me" but his voice sounds more silent but still menacing. Sephiroth in the english dub goes more through the silent anger.
@FoftheCs Sephiroth's appearance in the original game is Sephiroth's will controlling Jenova's body as though it was an extension of his own, shapeshifting it (Jenova's main trait) into his own visage. Cloud is 16 years old during this. Cloud survives because Hojo scoops him and Zack up (Zangan took Tifa away before Shin-Ra caught her) and injects them with Sephiroth cells, for his Jenova Reunion Theory. Cloud and Zack don't die, though they are watched for 5 years until Zack breaks them out.
Even though it did take away Cloud's laughter and continued to traumatize him for years to come due to constant visions of Sephiroth, causing him to almost destroy the world by his own hands at least twice--but yeah, Cloud did turn out pretty awesome.
I totally agree with you. The whole point of Cloud being the hero of the story kind of goes with the whole theme of FF7--normal, humble, 'underdog' people can change the world. Cloud was a normal guy who found strength from himself and his friends to protect the planet. It's only when he's trying to play 'hero' in his head that he isn't whole.
Sephiroth's mother was Lucretcia and if you saw her in some of the Dirge of Cereberus cut scenes you'd see where he got his hair. Jenova didn't even have human form when it first came to the planet, it adopted that form later to be able to move through the population. That's at least the way I understand it.
SEFIROS!!! But wow, you really did a good job ripping those scenes out AND subbing them. Well that, AND uploading it almost perfectly on RUclips. Did you use the hex trick?
Still awesome to watch, but still sucks that even though Cloud threw Sephiroth after being stabbed, it was in the wrong area. Sephiroth was attempting to exit and passed Cloud in the original but as Cloud chased Sephiroth over the reactor bridge, he was stabbed over that bridge, and not in the room, but I still prefer this over the damn Last Order crap.
Then the dude who trained her in the martial arts, I think his name is Zangan or something like that walked in after the cloud versus Sephiroth fight happens. Noticing that people from Shinra are not far behind and only able to carry one person, Zangan took the grievously injured Tifa to safety, while Cloud and Zack were taken by Hojo for study. Due to the severity of her injuries and the fact that fist fighters(in most videogames) suck at using magic, in this case "Cure", he went to Midgar to-
Think he was referring to the original where Cloud goes "My mother... my hometown... Tifa... give them back!" And halfway cleaves Sephiroth through the midsection.
Cloud had the physical potential to join SOLDIER, as demonstrated here - but he didn't have the mental capacity to deal with the Mako and Jenova Cell infusion process. We see twice that Cloud suffers from Mako poisoning when exposed to large doses of Mako Energy.
Seriously Zack wasn't even as injured as Cloud was. Cloud got stabbed and thrown. Zack merely got pushed back and hit the stairwell which I get hurts and can leave you weak for awhile but not to the point of immobility. I'm not sure if Zack took more damage than we thought he did or if he was just dreadfully exhausted from battling the worlds most feared 1st Class SOLDIER.I honestly prefer Zack to Cloud and wish he could've had more of the spotlight in this scene or at least a more convincing defeat.
The entire Niebelhim incident was always Cloud's moment since FF7. Sephiroth the man who he admired and always looked up to had turned evil, destroyed his home town, hurt Zack and Tifa, and he saw him kill his own mother. Zack couldn't defeat Sephiroth because he was superior in every way. The same applied to Cloud but his will, determination and hate for Sephiroth allowed him to overcome that major obstacle and kill Sephiroth. Cloud always overcomes obstacles that are above him because of his will and determination. And thats what his character stands for and why "Limits are meant to be broken" is his catch phrase. Because his character is about breaking ones limits.
Giving some of the glory to Zack would be fanfic-y and overindulgent, going against how things turned out in the original game. CC already undid his pitiful demise and made it some grand, over the top, heroic sacrifice (which is really screwed up, given how the whole theme of the original title was the fragility of life and how quickly it could end unceremoniously). Pushing it and actually trying to put the spotlight on Zack in what is one of Cloud's biggest moments in the original game would be going waaaaaaaaaaaay overboard.
While I do agree with the others that this is Cloud's time to shine, this game doesn't show wounds or blood. For all we know, during the battle, Zack could've been cut up very badly and had been disoriented from blood loss. That could be the explanation you're looking for.
@TheNewEmphinix that's because last order MUST NOT be taken as the real story. the games are right, the anime just wants to make it look better (even though it can't)
I think there's at least one translation of "One Winged Angel" up on RUclips if you search. Also, there's a great parody of it, by Irkentrad I think. If you're like me, the song will make you snicker forever afterwards.
2:30 let go of the friggin sword!!!!-tosses sephiroth- noooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!! ow hot hot -sephiroth falls- cloud sings"and you are falling, falling fast again" lololololololol
Watching this in context with the previous scenes, Zack doesn't have his heart in this at all. He's had to kill one friend too many by now..... That's why it had to be Cloud to take down Sephiroth.
They tweaked the Crisis Core FMV so much that it doesn't seem close to the Anime. For starters, Zack uses Climhazard on the steel door. Then Sephiroth throws him out of the Sealed Chamber and Zack hits one of the Mako tanks. Also, Sephiroth stabs Cloud as he comes thrashing toward him and throws him inside the chamber again. Sephiroth was so awed by Clouds resistance which made the really angry Cloud throw him to the sides even after getting stabbed by the Masamune...
@PurifiedJew i would kinda give props to zack because at the end he went up against a fuckin army of soldiers killed everyone and still had enough strength to talk to cloud. plus cloud was pissed that sephiroth destroyed his hometown Zack didnt give a rats ass about nibhelm, *i.e. when he ignored tifa after she was hurt* and he got lucky snuck up stabbed him and then got luckier and didnt die from getting stabbed too. its a tie both badass, badass game
mmm I dont know it could be be cause He almost killed zack, tifa and burned his hometown killing his family and the people he knew when he was a child, thats a good theory to start for xd sorry dude thats the big reason
Hmm. I could I suppose. But it should be pretty easy to follow. C is for Chapter 1 through ED (basically 1 through 11) then S is for the Scene number. If you just follow those it's pretty easy.
@PikaBaka101 So,cloud lived after he was stabbed right through the heart with sephiroth's sword, and somehow still managed to live after he fell a down like 20 stairs and stopped next to Zack, and then he still managed to live, even though Zack somehow died after he was throws onto stairs by the power of sephiroth's sword
Hojo. He said so very clearly in FFVII. Vincent was in love with Lucrecia, Sephiroth's mother, but she chose Hojo over him, because...well, I can't think of a sane reason.
It seemed more fitting to me in "Last Order" where Sephiroth *jumped* instead of fell, believing he was taking Jenova to the promised land. Hojo should been in Advent Children, just so the triplets or Sephiroth could've had the pleasure of wiping him out, personally. Is it ever said what becomes of him? Seems like he's responsible for so much misery, and gets off scot-free.
@xxxmalcolm41xxx: No, someone actually put that on a message board. Obviously it's not true that Barrett is Cloud's dad, but it's amusing to think he is.
I like Last Order's version of this event better. It was more intense: a lot more fighting between Zack and Sephiroth; here Sephiroth just throws Zack down the stairs and that is apparently the ultimate SOLDIER weakness. And Cloud was cooler; more emotional and conflicted. Like, "I admired you and looked up to you and you freakin' burn down my hometown!" Here he just silently stabs him with no facial expression at all. But I like the ending here where Zack is, like, "You did it! :D [dies]"
what's it matter? for all intents and purposes, Cloud is a SOLDIER 1st class. maybe not officially but he thinks he is Shinra thinks he is and he has the Strength and power to show for it. It doesn't matter if officially he wasn't a SOLDIER because as far as the characters are concerned, he is an ex-SOLDIER.
Uh nope. I wouldn't know how to do that. And RUclips is so not perfect. RUclips kills the quality of all my videos. That's why I always tell people to download the HQ off my site.
Forget his waist. The sord wasn't quite as wide as him. Close, but not quite. Given how tough he is one can imagine how those remaining bits on either side of the wound might have held him together. What I want to know is why his hair was undamaged when we see the sword go right through it. What the hell is that stuff made out of?
Pause at 1:31 you can see he got stabbed through both the stomach and spinal cords. He should have died but instead he starts walking it off like its a sucker punch. I am starting to think sephiroth has a healing factor
@mystic2689: The producers intended that scene to be a metaphorical representation of Cloud's will versus Sephiroth's, it wasn't a literal fight scene. It was meant to illustrate Cloud's will being stronger than Sephiroth's, not that Cloud could actually pull off what he did. Or so, that's what I read.
And that is why Cloud is awesome! I wish they'd left in more of his dialogue from "Last Order". But...awesome! Agree with the expressed sentiments about Hojo, BTW. I had a hard time getting through "Dirge of Cerberus", but it was worth it to see Hojo get his ass kicked again. :)
Takes a special kind of guy to take a sword the size of a motorcycle through his torso and shake it off as if he'd merely been punched in the gut.
well the dude is made with super cells (jenova cells) that can regen fast, etc. The wound does take its toll however, as in final fantasy 7 when you find sephiroth's body encased in mako at the crater it's missing its lower half (no legs).

And then plank over stairs.
Of all things they did not make a HD cutscene for this
DarkGuitarKid FF7 Remake will
No HD cutscene, not the good music. But still enjoyable. They better not fuck up this moment in the remake.

Cloud is one of the few heroes who went from being a CANNON FODDER Stormtrooper, to one of the galaxy's biggest badasses, who eventually defeated a soldier who was a literal god of war.
Yeah, that's awesome.

Xenosoul Yes. Because Sephiroth shows you have to be psychologically sound to be in SOLDIER.

Chalk it up to improper graphics.

Interestingly enough there isn't. Although I guess it doesn't really make sense to "give it back" when you stab someone with a huge sword.

SCIENCE!!! LOL
Wow...wasn't expecting Jenova's face to look sooo....human
I like Last Order's version of this event better. It was more intense: a lot more fighting between Zack and Sephiroth; here Sephiroth just throws Zack down the stairs and that is apparently the ultimate SOLDIER weakness. And Cloud was cooler; more emotional and conflicted. Like, "I admired you and looked up to you and you freakin' burn down my hometown!" Here he just silently stabs him with no facial expression at all. But I like the ending here where Zack is, like, "You did it! :D [dies]"
...I never noticed before that Jenova has so much hair. Very similar to Sephiroth's hair.
Don't feel stupid, its an easy mistake to make, given how muddled the official translations can be at times.
what's it matter? for all intents and purposes, Cloud is a SOLDIER 1st class. maybe not officially but he thinks he is Shinra thinks he is and he has the Strength and power to show for it. It doesn't matter if officially he wasn't a SOLDIER because as far as the characters are concerned, he is an ex-SOLDIER.
Yep. Sold out immediatly in Game Stop. It's out though and available to be brought.
@PikaBaka101
sephiroth died. he was dead after this event the whole game. The only thing that survived was his consciousness.
he didn't have Jenova's cells at this time yet
Uh nope. I wouldn't know how to do that. And RUclips is so not perfect. RUclips kills the quality of all my videos. That's why I always tell people to download the HQ off my site.
I like how Sephiroth kicked zacks butt with one arm.
3:17
Let. Go. Of. The. Friggin. Sword.
cloud is cool, but he can never be as cool as zack. zack is awesome
Well, Jenova's head...
Forget his waist. The sord wasn't quite as wide as him. Close, but not quite. Given how tough he is one can imagine how those remaining bits on either side of the wound might have held him together. What I want to know is why his hair was undamaged when we see the sword go right through it. What the hell is that stuff made out of?
uuuuugh man 😂😂😂
Pause at 1:31 you can see he got stabbed through both the stomach and spinal cords. He should have died but instead he starts walking it off like its a sucker punch. I am starting to think sephiroth has a healing factor
it is no secret jenova cells grant a massive healing factor. It is flat out stated that is why vincent doesn't die from having chaos inside him.
why didn't Sephiroth just let go of his sword? He's just like "damn dat guy strong"😂
i have to agree with you DarkeningKairi sephiroth is pretty scary he was cool until he lost his freakin mind!!! and now he's just plain scary!!!
Hojos fault Zack was killed and never had a child
kaneki ken What?
Hojo really ruined everything
But thanks to Hijo Cloud got strong
I couldn't help but lol at the way cloud slid down the stairs.
But... well he did
@XeroMaano There is no hax with Sephiroth. He is invulnerable to everything because he's him. Infact they even named a hack called the Sephiroth hack.
Barret. Barret is EVERYONES dad. he's just a stud like that. XD
Little mistake I just noticed. At 1:10 Cloud is without his helmet
I love how they fucked up with the music on this epic moment. Still awesome to watch.
Fucked up how?
