I have the same setup for my Caridina culls, they are all thriving in a similar community tank.

Yea it's fairly simple and straightforward ❤

Great info! May I ask what TDS should I have for blue bolts in a planted aquarium? 😊

@@Jeannie.B for planted tank, there isn't a way to control the TDS much esp., if dosing of fert into the planted tank. i'll keep them between a range of 90 to 300 TDS i think will be ok.

@@ShrimpSanctuary so should I focus on keeping the pH low?

@@Jeannie.B the pH is regulated mostly by the active soil in the tank and when you use active soil the pH will be what it will be. Can't change much.

Hi! I'm also from Singapore, I want to keep a low tech community tank. I'm currently using aqua soil but my next goal is to create a walstad tank and I have a few questions regarding shrimp if you don't mind me asking!
    1) What temperature is the highest I can keep the standard red cherry shrimp so that they can thrive and breed. I am a student currently so buying a $500 cooler or keeping the air-conditioning on endlessly seems out of the question for me.
    2) Would you advise putting pH buffers like dolomite because I heard red cherries like a slightly more alkaline water
    3) I currently have some red cherries in my aquasoil tank, while they are just off doing their own thing, they never seem to breed. Admittedly the water is slightly more acidic (6.6 pH) but it is heavily planted and nitrate levels are never too high, I do perform water changes as well as of now as this was not intended to be a walstad set up (has driftwood and no dirt and sand cap). In general the tank has plenty of hiding spaces despite being a community tank due to the large number of plants so just wondering what could be the issue other than potentially the pH.
    4) Can guppies co-exist with shrimps in your experience? Essentially my dream is to create a tank with a self-sustaining ecosystem and seeing all the animals thriving and breeding on their own.
    5) Where can I buy red cherries in Singapore where I can get someone to help me pick out the males and females, I know at higher temperatures if breeding happens there will be more males so I want to start off with basically 90% females

For Neos, you can keep them in our Singapore tap water.
