I find myself asking "what other business can I venture out into?"
It would only make sense that I look into laundromats and they are a very similar business to the self serve car wash business. Thats because once set up correctly it's possible that you can go there 1-2 times per week to collect the cash.
So come scout coin laundries with me and see if we can find the most rundown stores that the previous operator is doing it all wrong and lacks the motivation to re tool this store with brand new equipment.
After working for my Uncle for 2 years at he's car washes I really wanted my own and I came across this car wash. It was completely shutdown for many years so I approached the owner of the land and made a deal with him.
It took me 6 weeks to bring it back to life and open it and now the customers are starting to pour in. Not to mention I opened it during winter so I am yet. to see its full potential but here's a small taste of how its going so far!

Nice work dude! I actually have a secret I used to own 3 laundromats. I started them all from scratch. Sold all 3 off last year. Someday I will do a video on it. I like the car wash gig cause its a little less labor intensive. Im excited to see your results from the automatic.

Yes , worth it on laundromat if you get a good rundown site . The Distributors are the problems , they buy them then put in machines them selves then resell them $600, 000. I did go through Danny , but so hard to find fail sites in Florida . I search and drove many hours in Florida . Then Covid hit . You off to Car wash Show Nashville .
Yeah. I’ve heard about the distributors. I don’t think I’ll make that one as much as I’d like to.

I'd stick with car washes,I use to take care of a laundromat for my cousin,pain in the ass,Everytime you turn around somebody is jamming up a matching,or washing something greasy that gets on the next person's clothes,just to much headache to me!

The infrastructure is there. What we are really looking for first and foremost is the copper pipes. If they are still in place we know everything else is there. As for the parking, frankly; laundromat customers don’t drive the nicest vehicles. So they will “elbow“ their way into parking spaces. You might be surprised how unimportant it is. That “car park” would likely fit our needs.

There's another RUclipsr I found on tiktok who did this. His channel's name is laundromat money.
He bought the property for 65,000 and remodeled the laundromat for 25,000. The self service brings in about 9,000 a month and he has a wash & fold service that does about 20,000 a month. Rent free.
Do you get uneasy when the landlord has not cleared out the unit and re-leased it? Is it an undesirable area with low traffic counts?

No problem. Thanks for viewing. Not uneasy at all. Lots of traffic. People don’t go there because the machines suck and don’t work. Needs brand new equipment and other adjustments and the people will come.

I tried them once. Was flimsy and got nasty looking. Realized don’t need them. There’s no reason for people to touch the tip on their car.

I'm planning to open a automatic car wash business but I don't know anything about wiring, plumbing etc. Is it a bad idea?
I don’t know anything about wiring and Minimal plumbing but I know people who do.

Well run stores are. Rundown stores with old equipment, not so much.
Laundry’s are bigger money than a car wash. Lots bigger

I am actually more interested in coin op car washes. All the best laundromats are already owned and not for sale. The only ones that you could buy are not very good. Old equipment and not much business.
