I paid NOTHING for my laundromat! YES, I obtained this store for FREE - It will work for you. START with this video; ruclips.net/video/MS9K0YRPPIM/видео.html
Okay it's time...I'm reviewing these videos because it's Alexa time for the laundry. I'm really glad you put links below to the parts you're using. I'm doing the same setup you use. Thanks Dan!
The previous owner of the business spray painted them. Trust me.. it looks better on camera than it does in person. Lol.... but they are the most popular machines in my mat, so I'm not complaining. :-)
Awesome videos! I just purchased all the hardware you recommended but can you share the steps in the Alexa app to creat the routines for the marketing message and loitering message? Thanks!
I just found you via a suggestion from 'following Keenan'. I am now a subscriber. Cool Idea using Alexa. I am interested in starting or owning a laundromat. I am looking forward to seeing your other videos. Thanks
The chairs were found on facebook marketplace, being sold by a small church who got new seating. The tables were purchased from a restaurant supply website. I dont remember which one.
I love the intercom set up you created however, in order for the app to control the dot, the app and dot have to share the same wifi. I would like to speak to my customers from a remote location. Alexa devices have to share the same wifi. dO you have any ideas on a work around for that?
They don't have to be on the same wifi.... with this set up, you can control the dot with the app from anywhere in the world. I send remote announcements and change the music whenever I want from my home, a restaurant, a bar, or wherever I'm at. In fact, because the dot at the laundromat is linked to my personal Amazon account, I can use my alexa at home to send announcements to the laundromat by saying simple commands like "Alexa, play the no loitering announcement at the mat".
@@HotDoggingwithDan Thanks for responding. I own 3 laundromats and am building a 4th. My experience with Alexa is with the smart plug I was using for my network equip. at one of my mats. The plug could not be controlled from the app (on my phone)unless I was in the store on the same wifi as the plug. I called Alexa tech support today and they confirmed that both have to be on the same wifi (phone and device). They even said that if I was using the app on my iPhone using data and not wifi that it would NOT work. So what is the secret? Aside from the hardware, what are you doing to be able to control it from anywhere? Lastly, do your announcements have to be preprogrammed or can you talk directly into your phone and talk to customers? I really appreciate your help. I am old and this tech is awesome.
Dan when Alexa gives the Warning “Police are in route,”has she actually notified the police or is this the last warning before she actually calls the police?
Dan Forgive me if this is a repeat question. My phone is acting screwy and I can’t tell if my questions are getting submitted. Here’s the question. Do you have one of those Gosung remotes installed at every Florescent light fixture? Hope you get this message sorry for the repeats, have a good day!
I opened the doors about a month after taking the store over. Customers have told me that the previous owner closed the doors 9-12 months before I took it over.
It is possible. My store is 24 hours, so my door stays unlocked. Because of this, I never looked into how to do it, but I know there are alexa enabled door locks out there.
The majority of my customers lived in the apartments right across the street, so they rarely wait. They just start the machine, go home, and come back an hour later to switch.
Unfortunately, all of the bars and restaurants are shut down in my area as a result of the virus! As soon as we are allowed to open back up, I'll be back to recording hot dogging videos! :-)
I have not. There is a cafe in the same strip as the laundromat. I dont set up the hot dog cart there because I don't want to compete with them. I try to keep my neighbors happy.
Don't you have problems with people playing around with Alexa in the laundromat? Say a jerk comes in and just tells Alexa to turn off the lights and then leaves. People will think your closed when your not.

You're a goddamn genius, Danny boy!
Just aquired a second location and set the system up after about 3 weeks in operation it has made a huge difference!
Okay it's time...I'm reviewing these videos because it's Alexa time for the laundry.

Glad I could help!
Dan, you seem to have the ultimate automation setup. Awesome implementation. BTW, nice to hear you on Danny's Webex this past Wed.
Here because of Following Keenan and now I’m subscribing!

Nice setup!! Another Midwest RUclipsr cool!
Narrator, Alex! She did such a great job. On a serious note, great content. Thank you for sharing.
Hey Dan, What do you use to lock up? Mag lock on a timer?
You've done a great job thinking your business thru!
Thanks! I tried.
I love that idea. I am sure you can watch surveillance from your phone of seeing whats going on there. especially in Indianapolis.
Great video had no idea this was even possible. New project for us to ad to the list. Thanks for the excellent information!!!!
I'm working on the detailed video for you!! :-)

Chock Full Of Quarters reccommended your place. Best wishes on your coin laundry and Hot Dog Stand.
Dan,Nice black seating and stainless steel folding tables. Where did you buy both of those items?
The chairs were found on facebook marketplace, being sold by a small church who got new seating.
The tables were purchased from a restaurant supply website. I dont remember which one.
Hey Dan - What camera system do you use on your hot dog cart? How is it powered? How long does it last? Thanks
Hey Smitty! I use my cell phone. I keep it plugged into a power bank. So it lasts all night long
Bro that is BAD ASS!
Dan for the front lights and back lights do you have Alexa connected directly to the breaker panel box?
Dan, this is awesome! Is there a reason you opted not to go with Google Home/Assistant? Are you not able to control that system remotely?

Hey dan!
Thanks for this video. I just purchased Danny’s DVD and should receive it in a few days. I was wondering if you tried his consulting service
Danny is Beast, and well worth the investment!
This is amazing. Thank you sir
Dan when Alexa gives the Warning “Police are in route,”has she actually notified the police or is this the last warning before she actually calls the police?
That's slick!! 👍
Hi Dan Sue I subscribed to your channel just watched. You on Angela’s live chat👍

How do you stop someone from shouting Alexa and controlling it? Do you just put her on mute and control her through the app?
Yep... shes muted
Wow nice!
Great Video!
Very cool 👍
Can you use your I phone or do you need to be there. I’d like to have two way communications with customers from my iPhone. Any sugestions
Ring and Alexa both give the ability to communicate with customers, and they work on Iphone.
Good job on that laundromat. Clean, nice.
I was wondering if I could come by and talk w u about a laundromat. I in the process of buying one but have no idea what I need to do.
Feel free to shoot me an email! HotDoggingWithDan@gmail.com
That is awesome 😎
Hi Dan. Great video. What's the website address for your laundromat business?
How long were you closed before you opened up for business Dan?
I opened the doors about a month after taking the store over. Customers have told me that the previous owner closed the doors 9-12 months before I took it over.
Can customers use the restroom? How do you control access to the restroom? (it looks really nice btw).
The bathroom stays open 24/7. No need to control access to the bathroom.
Do you own your own ATM in the facility too?
Nope. Its a third party ATM. I get $1 for every transaction
Can it lock and unlock doors? I'd still like to keep my laundromat 8am-8pm and have an electronic lock connected to Alexa. Possible?
It is possible. My store is 24 hours, so my door stays unlocked. Because of this, I never looked into how to do it, but I know there are alexa enabled door locks out there.
What is the total cost for the alex setup?
I spent about $3k on everything
Fly shit my Dude!!!
What brand of washers and dryers do you have in your laundromat?
Mostly speed queen. Some Dexter's, some wascomat... dryers are all dexter
Why are you laundromat is so empty
The majority of my customers lived in the apartments right across the street, so they rarely wait. They just start the machine, go home, and come back an hour later to switch.
🔥🔥
Are you still selling hot dogs ?
Unfortunately, all of the bars and restaurants are shut down in my area as a result of the virus! As soon as we are allowed to open back up, I'll be back to recording hot dogging videos! :-)
Dan how do you get your announcements to say what you want in a female voice? Is that built in to the Alexa software?
Yes. Its built in. The app has several different voice types to choose from.
Hey Boss Man have you ever set up your Dog Cart at the laundromat?
Nope. The Alexa has a "mute" button, so it doesnt respond to commands unless I unmute it.
@@HotDoggingwithDan I see. I have never used or even seen an Alexa out in the wild. So yeah, I was curious about that issue.
