Renewed the passport by mail in early June, 2023. Paid the extra $ for expedited service plus priority mail. Received the new passport within three weeks. Ideally renew the passport nine months before it expires. Most countries requires your passport is valid for six months from the day you land into their country. Send personal check as the payment, so you can easily track the check cashing date.
that's fast. My husband and I just received our new passports today, so happy. Ours took 6 weeks from Locator 51 (Miami). I also paid for expedited service plus 1-2 day delivery. We thought that we had to wait for at least 2 months to get new ones. The processing time has been improving a lot.😃
I don't have any need to leave the country. I don't have a desire for a vacation out of the country anytime soon. However, one never knows, so I'm in the process of obtaining a passport since they take a while to get. I don't want to end up like so many people making plans and then having to change those plans because my passport isn't arriving in time.
@@mikeparker6322 yes and they are processed at passport centers. By passport specialists. Go to a passport agency such as the one in Miami Florida. They can literally issue you a passport same day in a serious emergency.
Same thing happened during the pandemic and i blame the people waiting until the last day to renew their passport , i remember renewing my passport myself online did it for free you just follow the directions , but we also live in a society where people re stupid AF and cant even follow simple directions .
You are such a good listener! Oh wait, were you even listening? I bet you're one of those drivers that can see that your lane is ending soon, but instead of merging early you'll go right up to the end and try to bully your way in line.
Lets put gop in office to fix this. More funds to serve citizens and less funds for illegal crossing processing.

Is this delay for applying new passport or renewing as well?

Counterfeiters need to step up. Where's the Invisible Hand?
“Agencies”? Only the State Department can renew or issue passports.
the places that handle and process passports and have the public counters are passport agencies.

Nonsense. Why would countries require a passport to enter?
