I can understand the possibility of a component change...There was an era when Holden used a few different electrics for the same model but you have two cars with the same issue so that's an alarm bell.
Mark, I dug out a my switch and I'm uploading a vid that may help. I don't have a working motor here to test it. My low is the same, but the middle pin drops when I switch to high.
You have to ground the switch body to the wiper body, not just the ground terminal, to do a thorough bench test of both components together, I ran into the same thing on my GTO. But you probably have it all figured out by now.
Mark, maybe feed 12v into the switch, then instead of testing for continuity, test for voltage. I'm just wondering if there's a resistor in there somewhere that's causing a voltage issue. Also, there's constant power right? Is it at 12v also? Other than that, I don't know... It looks like it should work from here.
wire it up on the bench with the switch. I hate crap like this.. at least you are understanding it a little better. walk away and then come back to it with a fresh mind. you are doing good, just frustrated now..
went through my catalogs and found only a switch for a 69 camaro and 80-81 nothing for 70-79 although the 69 does seem to look like your switch there is no picture of the 80-81
Man, looks like this was a long time ago, but did you ever figure this shit out? I don't have the same issue, but I haven't had wipers for probably three years in my Chevelle. I bench test one motor, it's fine; I hook it up, it burns up. Traced every wire, tried a new switch, everything seems fine. Hook another mother up, and it starts smoking. Get pissed, give up for a while, try it again, another one burns up. So fucking aggravating.
Yes between me and doublerrestorations figured out the wiring keep scrolling through the vids the fix is there and check out double r restorations he figured most of it out thanks for watching

ZIGgassedUP agreed chances of two switches and motors pilot error may be the issue

Double R Restorations thanks Russ just saw your vid my tabs are grounding differently
Have a great Memorial Day buddy.
cecil6711 you as well Cecil

Classic Industries has a new one that is similar PN 1994180 but it is like $45.00.
I hope this helps.
Good luck. :-)
cecil6711 summit has the same switch lil bit cheaper but does not come with the pumper option

Greg's Garage no power brought to the switch on these systems the switch is the ground that completes circuit.....thanks greg

zzzdogutube I did Ron multiple configurations and the switch is the only constant making the motor not work as it should
Damn
Seems like you should be able to buy the right switch for your car from one of the parts suppliers.
Guy Massaro no one carrier them advanced, autozone, none of the big box stores
Dang buddy, good luck..
jeff lindsey see what I mean

Mitch Camaro thanks summit and best carry them w/o pump spray
might try testing the ground circuit of the switch, feels like the switch doesn't break inner ground in off park position , and keeps on ticking ??
