    Your Bench Test Video of the wiper motor is absolutely excellent. I followed it step by step with a motor exactly as seen in your video. Now my problem is trying to accomplish the bench test with the additional component being the 2 speed wiper switch I have which is a Cole Hersee #75212-04-BX. The only way I was almost successful at using that switch was to wire the terminals as follows: Switch Terminal Labeled "B" to Battery Terminal (-) / Switch "L" to Motor (L} / Switch "H" to Motor {H} / Swith "P" not connected. Then the Motor (Ground to Frame) connected to the Battery (-) and the Motor (+) connector directly to the Battery (+) Terminal. With this everything worked as the bench test did, perfectly. Turn Switch to first position motor operated at low speed, Switch at second position motor operated at high speed. Turn Switch back one position motor returns to low speed. Turn Swithc back again motor stopped at park position. However after that the motor started to heat up which I guess was due to the motor still directly connected to the battery (+). Is the switch Im using wrong for this application? Am I leaving a component out that Im unaware of? I'm obviously doing something wrong, I just do not have the knowledge level to correct what Im doing.

      Good video, helped me to understand the idea! Anyhow, there is a catch if You park it by disconnecting the hi speed ground: it will park (like in video) but it wil draw 5 amps current when in park !!! (if lo ground still connected). The 'LOW' should be 'grounded' to the 'HI' terminal which is then grounded to chassis. This prevents the 5 Amp-iin-park problem and parks nicely when HI ground is cut. Hi speed is done by just disconnecting LO from HI.

    I really appreciate the video a great, I have the exact same motor in my 71 Skylark and this video helped me test the motor to confirm it was working after disassembling and reassembling it. Thanks again

    Frozen washer pump causing Motor to not work, removed washer pump which free wiper motor and motor is now working!!!

    Cool video thanks for the info. Why don’t you want to reuse the original pump? I have the same one I’m about to try to use a rebuild kit and see if I can get it working again. It worked last summer. To bench test that pump is it as simple as connect a positive and negative to it ?

    I tried this with my same wiper motor from Cardone but using the car battery. It just made a clicking sound inside the motor and sparks om the contacts. I am assuming my motor is dead? It was brand new and had worked before getting it back from a body shop where it sat for a while outside.

    Great video
    I, have a 69 c10 truck with a new wiper motor and pump. However I can't get the motor to run it's getting power do thank I have a ground issue I thought the firewall would have been a good enough ground any help would be great

      Yes a bad ground won't complete the circuit. Try grounding another way, just a jumper wire to a bare spot on the frame or all the way to the negative battery pole. Also, how are the ground straps on the truck itself? If those are bad the cab itself may not be properly grounded. These trucks are getting up there in age and with corrosion taking its toll, the ground straps could be failing. They are commonly overlooked. Good luck.
