Its only fly fishing don't over think it - brilliant! one fly is best you're right - when do you use 2 or 3 ? Lakes on boats?
Too many overthink! I sometimes use 2 on rivers and lakes but in clear water i only usually use 1. Keep it simple, don't over think it!
