Thanks! I've gone again with hybrid mage and did it in less than 5.5 but not actually like *trying* for speed, rather just cutting out some things I don't need and stuff.
@@ThreadMenace please share all your theory-crafting!! It's really interesting to think back to what you need to gather in the previous biomes to get just what you need for when you make it to the next. But since I'm a noob, it's much more interesting to hear your thoughts.
@@sandmaster4444 Honestly haven't been doing too much thinking about it been on kind of a break. I think I got excited at the end of this one realizing I can grab 2 silver from morgen caves and teleport it out for a cauldron upgrade after skipping silver. That would prolly just be for the hardcore% run. I think it'll prolly be best to make a good helmet in mistlands, not sure if root vest will be good, might have to make two batches of fire wine.
Epic play-through Thread, non-stop heart-in-mouth action, new strats emerging, great commentary throughout and to finish off, teasers for the future! As always, many thanks for posting! Already massively looking forward to the next 👍👍
That Fader fight thooooooooo I'm def on board with the ground spike attack thing to kill the summons now. Very very good. Crazy how different the fight is melee vs ranged/magic.
Awesome playthrough! A few more practice runs and you will make ashlands look like a walk in the park! 0:00 as someone who does the occasional Englishing, I can confirm that ’to ashland’ is, indeed, a verb. 1:01:00 I seem to be imagining dragons here. 1:18:40 The morgen casually strolled through the stone ruins as if they were made of wet paper! Terrifying! 2:53:00 you grab the ceramic plates from one box and then immediately put them into another 🤣 The Fader fight looked great, at least until your barley wine ran out. You went into the fight with slightly damaged axes, though I doubt they would have lasted the entire battle even if you had repaired them beforehand.
Regarding getting peppered by sticks and stones, I think a big part of it is that stamina regen (idk about health and eitr) have a noticeable moment before they start increasing if they ever drop. So every time you take a hit, no matter how small, they pause their regen, which really adds up over a fight.
stam *definitely* works like that. I know that with health if you haven't had a tick for a while and then you get hit you essentially immediately get the health back, pretty sure health regen is just consistent

32:40 I stood at the front door and started demoing. After I ran to the top and pulled aggro from all
You've probably already figured this out, but just in case; when attacking a fortress, since you're bringing a stonecutter for a portal anyway, bring 1 stack of Grausen and build 4x4 platforms up the side of the fortress. Can do it with 4 platforms. Much better than flammable ladders.
A teaser at the end! Yessss! 🤩 That thunder thunder thunder made me wonder wonder wonder - Imagine there were Dragons in this game.... 🤔 Am I right? I'm always wrong on these guesses lol. Really great run, you were amazing as usual. It was fun to watch and lots of learning moments. Lookin' forward to the next one. :)
I really like it too but would reluctantly understand if they didn't push it to prior biomes because they all have different factions that will fight each other whereas Ashlands just has the occasional dwarf rogue that gets deleted
Why do you make conquering the ashlands seem like a walk through meadows with just a little fire? That‘s just unfair. Nevertheless, of course I admire you for it!
How will it affect speed runs that all runs must eventually go south? Before, it was all about going outward in whichever direction the vesigirs dictated but now there will have to be a bias towards the south.
I'll definitely lean south when things are up in the air but you're often just going to wherever the boss indicator is and if that creates a big commute south later it'll just be about doing that commute fast. We'll see!
That entire run was just wildly impressive!! Entry to boss defeat in less than 7.5 hours on your second entry to the biome... dayum!!

@ThreadMenace booooo I fail again, lol. I forgot all about Thundercats...!
Great run! It would be cool to see you do another one with an emphasis on magic.
Thread! Break all jars. They a lot of the time have iron, silver etc. I got two iron from one to build a stonecutter without portal jiggles!!! 😂
Eh if I take the time to do that the prize is spending more time sorting through junk and more time dealing with it.
@ThreadMenace As a hoarder, that does indeed sound like a prize!!
Excellent, I've been waiting for this!
I really enjoy the friendly fire from morgens, asksvin etc. It kind of makes me wish they'd add that to previous biomes.

Haha thanks!
Awesome boss fight! Those axes put in work, but that durability might be a bit low. Too bad you ran out of fire resist at the exact wrong moment.
Thanks! shyeahhhhh
So composed
Hell yeah

@@ThreadMenace I ~look forward to~ dread a repeat of the no-portal journey-to-the-queen at the end of a good run up to that point 😅

Do you think spears will be viable in the Ashlands?
I think Ashlands is the worst biome for spears so far but that prolly won't stop me from using'em lol
wwhat about the mini-boss?
Eh
Right on bro. You doing the mini boss?
Naw, did at some point on stream but here I just kinda rush the big boy.
