My Grendel likes the 129 aa sst and 95 gr vmax. My daughter's likes the 123 Hornady sst. My newest one hasn't made it to the range yet.

Pretty darn nice especially when shot without a chair to get nice & comfortable in. I only shoot 3 shot groups with hunting rifles as getting more than 3 shots off in my WI property isn't all that common and when it does happen the shots are close rather than far away. 5 and 10 shot groups are great for benchrest competition, varmint hunting and especially rimfire competition but that's really the only place I use them.

I got a 400 legend in the Gen 2 predator. My bolt does catch on the edge, on top as it is cycled if you don't push striaght with the bolt
Seems to be a little to much play. May file that edge down so that it is rounded. Seems that would help make it much smoother. With that said I love the gun. I shot a 1/2" 100yd 3 shot group today! Was not expecting that. For the price, you can't beat the Gen 2.

@@vaughngarner7360 I think they have upgraded the magazine since the gen 2’s first came out ?? You used to pull the magazine clip before you could get that barreled action out to adjust the trigger ?? It isn’t that way on my new predator ??? You might ask Ruger for the upgraded magazine with new style clip ??

I just ordered a standard Gen 2 in .308, but it hasn't come in yet. I also, at the same time, ordered a Magpul Hunter stock, Arken SH4J, and a Timney drop-in trigger group set at 2 lbs. This is my ultimate overpriced "budget" build. I've never done any real precision shooting, so I wanted to build something I could grow into for a while.

@@Spidermonkey2a, I'm sure it will be more accurate than I am capable of being. That's all that matters to me. Although it won't hurt that it will look hot as fire.

@@Spidermonkey2a I own a Gen 1 Ranch 6.5G, if not for using it as a suppressed walk around hunter I would have chosen a predator. I’m curious how much velocity I’ve given up.

I gotcha. I haven't chronographed the ruger Americans yet. Might be about time I do.

I shot my new Ruger Gen 2 Predator in 6 mm ARC for the first time as I wanted to get the scope sited in. Because I was just getting the scope working I elected to shoot at 50 yards, not 100. I am not a very good shot yet with that rifle, However, 5 shot groups with Hornaday 105 grain bullets was 1/4th inch groups, at 50 yds. The Scope is a Athlon Argo 6x24x50, a really nice unit !! As I shoot more and get to using my bipod and pinch bag, I feel pretty confident this rifle is a real shooter ! Time will tell but the rumors I’ve heard re: Ruger Gen 2 Predators not shooting well seems do not apply to my rifle !! My aim point was not nearly as precise as it will be when I get more and varied ammo and really test the accuracy !!

Thats great to hear. I have nothing bad to say about the gen 2's yet. I think they're pretty nice for the money

Me Too, The wait for a predator in 6mm ARC seems very long !! IMO I’ve been looking for about a year and had settled on a standard and was happy I got a predator !! I’m not sure if the barrel is thicker, They claim it is, but it is 2 inches longer which might help with some more speed ??? It also has a different magazine with a different release, which I think is an upgrade over original ?? The only upgrade I’m planning is a new trigger spring from Mcarbo, Pull down to 1.5 lbs ?? This is my designated target rifle, So a light trigger seems fine. The stock is much better than the Gen 1 standard ! The internal webbing in the fore end is much better !! I will have to confirm once I attach everything and shoot it for a while ?? Cheers Scott

FYI, Just shot 30 rounds through the 6 ARC in Ruger Predator Gen 2 !! Started at 50 yards, 3 rounds same hole, last time it was 4 shots 1/4th inch group so better, Bipod with pinch bag (same hole) vs lead sled (1/4th inch groups) !! At 100 meters it shot sub MOA But the barrel was really dirty ??? especially around the neck of the bullet ??? I cleaned it before I started shooting but I didn’t clean the chamber !! Now I need to do a proper cleaning, just to make sure everything is working as it should !!! accuracy doesn’t seem to be a problem with this unit ! Very fun to shoot the Hornady boat tail hollow points at 105 grain !!

@Spidermonkey2a It took about two hundred rounds before it calmed down a little bit at first I was getting a lot of flyers, and I had to fix the trigger as well. I ended up cutting 1 round off the trigger spring to get it where the trigger felt decent.

I’ve got a 22 arc gen 2 predator. When you cycle the bolt with an empty mag in does the bolt hit the follower and make it real rough to cycle? Mine does. Also has feeding and ejection issues
