This is awesome this company makes the best down hands-down this company is the best making warm clothes didn’t even try it on but I know it’s the best thanks for the video
I spend thousands on products from this company.. Now there's another product to buy. Can't wait for mine. Cheers Kuiu.
Jason would be proud of his creation!
Kuiu make great gear, and i own alot of it, And in fact, I'm wearing their vest right now. This burner jacket looks like top of the line. I have two problems though. 1. being the cost. - At $1100 CAD it makes for a VERY expensive jacket. 2. - if its built for cold, why cant we get this this in a white camo pattern. Besides, its designed to be worn in the coldest climate.
I've found that the vias pattern blends extremely well in alot of snowy conditions
if you are hunting this late in season you will be hunting rifle, far enough away where you don’t need to perfectly blend with the snow. Also there will always be spots of rock, brush, or timber where one of their three camo patterns will blend perfectly. Specifically vias or valo in late season. Better hunters than you or I take these patterns late season hunting every year and tag out. You’re over thinking it
Kuiu needs to come out with snow Camo now!
Really like Kuiu, white camo for snow would be good for this
Moving out to Alaska in a few weeks and can't wait to see that package on my doorstep so I make sure I don't freeze my ass off when I get there 😂 love the gunmetal as well by the way
Damn. I need one
I really want to buy this but my super down hooded jacket torn on my first hunt last year and now makes me guess about the durability of the jackets. If it's durable enough for brush then I'd pick one up in a heart beat
The bottom half needs to stay dry and warm too, make a matching pants please
Perfect for waterfowl.....then I saw the $800 price tag 🙃
If you're in conditions where you need to wear the Burner Parka, you won't need to hunt the waterfowl, you can just go ahead and walk over and chip them out of the ice they're frozen into.
Yah this wasn’t designed for plinking ducks at your local pond in the lower 48.
@@kuiuultralight well here in quebec Canada, every season we have have days were we hunt ducks and geese at -15, -20F with high humidity which is worst then a dry -30F. As far As I know, I killed them while they were flying…
@@DjStenoP you fuckin tell him boi !!! Those Californian kuiu wearing seasonal hunters don’t know shit about living in cold conditions… I bought over 3500$ worth of the shit a few years back and like I said it is not designed to hunt out of every day or live in !! It’s just a real expensive costume for the hunters that pay people to guide them for a few weeks out of the year .. I bought there guide jacket and pants .. there gators. Both their wool and synthetic base layers and I was not impressed with any of it .. the guide jacket lasted me a month and a half before it failed at the seams.. the zippers are garbage supper light weight and all but one of them failed on the clothing I bought and the gators wore holes right threw the sides of them from simple walking in deep snow… the stuff does not hold up and does not last … being a big game guide And living in my hunting gear 8 months out of the year and spending that kind of money one would of thought it would last a little longer than a month or two ..
Is it quiet?
Is there no guide discount?
How water proof is this? I have a Kenai rain jacket and a Yukon rain jacket. When something is advertised as waterproof I expect it to be waterproof not water resistant. Kenai is very water resistant but not proof including the pants especially in the knee area. The Yukon is waterproof from all my uses only complaint is the cuffs are way to tight to go over any warm glove even the tight guide gloves you can’t even get the cuff over the glove, I need a jacket and pant for sitting in very cold temps stationary in wet snow and freezing rain and winds. I need something 100% waterproof. Would you choose this or the gale with a down layer under? Is one or the other more waterproof, I know that question makes no sense considering waterproof is waterproof but ya kno. And for the essences it’s 800$ people sims Sitka kuiu all from 350-550 for a waterproof rain jacket layer and same for a heavy down it’s priced right. For those that can’t see that it’s not for you
Hi Reuben--our Kenai series is not waterproof, and isn't advertised to be; it has water resistant materials, but isn't rain gear--it's an insulation piece only. Super Down Burner has a full rain shell outer layer over the down fill. Gale Force is the same, except with synthetic insulation. Both are equally waterproof.
I have a 42" chest snug fit.
I am 5'-3" tall .
Measurement arm length from back of neck to wrist 31-32".
What size should I get?
Based on the size chart (there's one on each product page, near the "Add To Cart" button) we'd suggest a Large, based on your chest size. Wrist cuffs can help with extra sleeve length, but if it doesn't fit in the chest, you won't care about the sleeves.
Thank you.
Large it is.
Also, being this is a big purchase for me.
I would like to ask one more question.
I'm going to be on a year bicycle tour. I will be spending most of my time outside in the elements. Sleeping out in a tent.
Obviously I don't want to be freezing cold.
Should I purchase the Super down Burner parka?
Or...
The Super down Pro hooded?
The price is significant for me, and I don't want a overkill, but NEED to stay warm, especially at the camp spot at night.
Thank you for your reply.
Sorry, didn't see this second question--the Burner is probably overkill for anything except truly Arctic, sub-freezing temperatures. I'd suggest either the Super Down Pro Hooded Jacket, and/or one of our down sleeping bags, if you aren't going to be in below-zero-Fahrenheit conditions.
It’s nice but like Sitka it’s way too expensive .
We understand, but to put it into perspective: this has the equivalent amount of down to two of our Super Down Pro jackets ($399 each), plus a waterproof membrane similar to the Kutana Storm Shell ($359). That would be $1159! Many of our competitors have similar pieces that are heavier in weight and cost around $1000, as well. We're not gonna say it's saving you money, but for true polar conditions, this amount of protection is what's required to keep someone warm.
@@kuiuultralight I would love it but as a DV my budget won’t get close I got a last year’s under armor puffy for $250 it’s 800down fill very warm and compacts down into pocket sewn into back of jacket. It works for my budget. But if I hit lottery I’ll be buy more of your stuff other than base layers 👍🏻
Glad you have something that works for your conditions! If you're interested in learning more: the fill power of a jacket doesn't denote how much down is in there, just how lofty/large the down clusters are--so all three of our down jackets use goose down that has 850+ fill power, but in different amounts: the Burner has 10 oz, the Super Down Pro has 5 oz, the Super Down Ultra has 2.3 oz. Here's how that's tested and what it looks like: ruclips.net/video/NkUkdVD3oRo/видео.html
I would get a matching bib overalls, please make one
The Gale Force Pants would be a great choice to pair with the Burner, with possibly some additional layers underneath them for the absolute most freezing conditions.
@@kuiuultralight we need a packable matching pants please
Snowcamo!
What’s the difference between this and the gale force?
Gale Force is considerably less packable, for a couple of reasons: it is made with a synthetic insulation and has a much heavier face fabric. The Burner Parka is warmer, lighter, and more packable, while Gale Force will be more breathable and abrasion-resistant. The Gale Force Pants would be a great choice to pair with the Burner, with possibly some additional layers underneath them for the absolute most freezing conditions.
@@kuiuultralight thanks for this reply. I own the gale force pants that I combine with the down pro underneath my guide jacket. I was planning on purchasing the gale force jacket but now I’m debating on the burner for late season. It may be overkill though for northern Pennsylvania.
Kuiu= most expensive Chinese products known to man
Ahhhhhhhh, derrrr. What an insult to the Japanese
What bottom layering do you pair with this in subzero
We'd recommend the Gale Force pant and some additional insulating bottoms like the Kenai or Super Down, depending on your activity level and how cold it would be.
@@kuiuultralight when are the burner bibs/high waist pants coming?
@@kuiuultralight
I just happened to come across your website.
I'm looking to go on a year bicycle tour, and living constantly out in various temperatures. I cannot afford to get stuck out in cold weather with no place to go to shelter.
Your super down burner parka is probably a overkill for my needs, BUT I'd rather have it and not need it then need it and not have it.
I'm 5'3" 170 lbs. short stocky build.
I have a 45 inch chest, but short arm length 35" from wrist to back of neck.
What size do you recommend for me. Also.. take in to account I would be wearing thin base layers and I don't want things to be too tight and snug. But...not too overly big for me either.
For this type of cost investment, I NEED the size to be right.
Thank you.
@@The-GreenHornet all you need in your case is a wife beater and boy shorts and you're good to go. Goodluck!
How quiet is it?
It's not silent, but it won't be any louder than your footsteps in snow.
Skipping a month of rent 😭
Music, please !

@@kuiuultralight Great! Thanks
Kuiu needs to come out with snow Camo now!
Vias blends into snow really well.
