This is a movie that is close to my heart, in the 80s I had a gorgeous girlfriend, she was 21 and beautiful and I was 15 and weird. Top of the world is how I felt. Then after 6 months she just dumped me and broke my heart. A year later we got together for about two months, I lost my virginity to her, shortly after I moved to another city. I must have rented this VHS movie hundreds of time because it reminded me of her. Don’t know where she is today ... but the memories of something that happened some 40yrs ago will always have a special place in my heart. Thank you Demi and John for the film.. wonderful memories of a long gone era.

If you were 15 and she 21 then I think you were just something she did out of boredom.. girls tend to go for older men especially at that age

Every time I have John Hughes DVD marathons and watch _'Pretty In Pink',_ _'Some Kind Of Wonderful',_ _'The Breakfast Club'_ etc. etc., I always have to include this film as well (even though it's not a Hughes film). It has such a similar vibe to all those others. Mixes in perfectly with the rest. Awesome and iconic 80's movies...

I can see why he was in the movies back in the early to mid 80's. He looks a bit like Mathew Broderick back in that era.

He was offered Ferris Bueller, but turned it down so he wouldn't be typecast if memory serves

@@functionform According to a link I found, Cryer was one of many who auditioned for the role, but didn't end up get it. John Cusack was the actual runner up to Broderick.

Glad he turned it down. He is way too much of a goober to play Ferris Bueller.

I really love to scroll through my tubi 80s movies and going to RUclips to watch a trailer of some 80s movie I've never even heard of. Because there were a lot of movies coming out but they either were a hit or the just go down in history as a not special the director probably invested so much money into the movie in the actors probably thought that they were going to really hit it big those who never hit it big and feel bad for and then those who are still famous to this day I sure about to see how far that acting has come

Why are there so many posts of the full movie on RUclips, but none of them show the movie?

Why are so many movies in hollywood about adults have inappropriate relationships with children.

@@libertyjustice5371 90% of them came out in the 80's. Different times. It's probably the weakest part of this otherwise terrific movie.
