    I was in basic 13 weeks at Ft.Benning and the mess hall in the beginning of the movie was ours. They had a few of our platoon as extra’s when the camera pans around the mess hall. I was in 1st platoon A-5-1 It was April 1983 we were in the Albanese barracks . We were so happy just to have a few hours to relax and not be dogged out. We were a cohort platoon and went to Ft.Hood together and were trained on the Bradley IFV 8 months later by a training team from aft.Knox. The Bradley’s were brand new factory fresh M-2s . Now they’re replacing them with a new vehicle. I’m getting,hell I am old,good memories though.

    This was a classic movie I loved when I was young.
    Today's movie seem to have a different feel, "They have the odds, but he has a Hulk-Buster Suit."
    Going back and watching this again seems to just be missing something.

    I know this movie is kind of silly (like anyone would be able to buy and keep a Sherman with all the armament still fully functional) but it's still appealing to me, the whole "f-ck you, every man has a breaking point" attitude. Plus I liked it as a teenager back in the day.

    • @mvol5973
      @mvol5973 6 лет назад +7

      Actually, if you have the money and can obtain the permits you can own a fully operational tank and the armament. It's just insanely expensive and tons of red tape, but it is possible. Would assume in this case because of a long military background he was able to take some shortcuts to do it

    • @moore2077
      @moore2077 2 года назад +3

      The fire control was a pedal on the floor left side of the turret, so traditionally, no. The commander did have an override stick that could slew the turret through his control, but it didn't have a trigger for the guns. However, since this movie takes place in 1984, and Zach states that he's made adjustments to the Sherman for parade duties and whatnot, it's possible he wired up a trigger in the commander's turret override control.
